These melodic licks have clicked finally, now I can’t stop playing them! Thanks for this lesson once again 🙌🙌
Awesome!
Jim greetings from the UK. I got my first banjo 2 days ago at age 67!. Having found your videos on youtube I have been binge watching them. I have dived into your beginners lesson No1. You have a great teaching style and your experience really comes through. Many thanks for all your efforts.
Thanks for letting me help!
I live near Santa Claus, Indiana, and didn’t know this song! Love it! Thank you so much!!!!
Thanks for watching 😊🎅🏼
You are truly a great teacher, thank you!. Please keep up the amazing lessons. Happy holidays to you and yours. Steve
Thank you! Will do!
WOW! Arch-top Stelling! A friend of mine here in southern Illinois currently owns the Stelling arch-top that used to belong to Steve Martin and it sounds GREAT!!

Jim your teaching style works well for me. I’m starting with music late in life (age 61) with a borrowed banjo. While Santa Claus is beyond me at this point, this video helps me to connect some dots, and as you said provides a tune to put in my head.
Thanks for doing what you do! I’m subscribed, following your lessons, and a Patreon ❤
Thank you for your support!
Great tune. Your Stelling sounds great. It's a raised head and it has a better sound than most raised heads that i have heard.
Thanks! Yup, it's a special banjo for sure.
Thanks Jim! Your lessons have kept me going this past year or so and got me started in the beginning.
Thank you!
THanks Jim-
You may be the only banjo instructor I've ever had, but you're also the best!
I've been a patrion since the beginning, I always look forward to the next video. Merry Christmas~
Thanks so much!
Amazing video Jim
Thanks 👍
Great Tune, Sweet Stelling.
Thanks ☺️
I have enjoyed your banjo videos and I have a banjo that I am learning. I just have to mention an observation. I love the cross on your head stock! I haven't been able to watch for a while so I'm sure there's a story that I will find since it's on your shirt also. God bless you!

Hi Jim! Hope you're doing well. I just came back inside from banjo picking on the front porch. It's awful humid outside and I'm getting eaten alive by mosquitos. I was just practicing Cripple Creek, only to come back to the tv to find you playing Cripple Creek. Cheers matey!
Doing well! Enjoy your summer! :)
@@JimPankey thanks Jim. Summer is brutal in Australia right now. High humidity and tons of mosquitos this season. I went hiking with a buddy this week but the trail was washed out from heavy rain and we got lost. Had to bush bash a crawling pace for 3 hours to find the trail and get us back on track. Lucky there was a swimming hole to skinny dip into and cool off. Not sure that counts as "enjoying" summer. Well, cheers! Take care.
Man I ove the 777 masters cross !!! That thing is incredible .
It even sounds as good ss i looks.
And thats saying something .
Thanks but it’s not a “Master’s Cross” - it’s a Gospel.
@@JimPankey even better !!
And it is beautiful if I may say so.
Thankyou doe that and the lessons !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@@JimPankey hello from Yeehaw Junction Fl . Where a man can play banjo to his pet osceola turkey in peace , without interruption . As he is my biggest fan . So far . Working hard on it . Daily. Few months now
sounds good, that banjo sounds different from the other one you play. the sound sounds more enclosed on that banjo. More of a chime, I think, the cords sound cleaner
Cool, thanks!
Hey Jim can you do a tutorial on back to the bar rooms by jd Crowe
Can you make some tutorials on back to the barrooms and Rocky island
Hey Jim pankey, I was wondering what banjo you play?? My favorite sounding is ob3 from gold tone but I'm curious to know what you play. Same with strings, I mean for strings, I might have to use 10-11 gauge strings because I have a super slow, but heavy right hand
This banjo is a Stelling I’ve had since 1982.
I used medium strings on it.
Thanks!
Without the tabs your lessons are useless. Calling out the numbers is extremely hard to remember!!!
If you practice and put in the work to figure it out, you don’t need tabs.
Don't remember numbers. That's only a guide. Use your ears.
He offers the tab in the remarks section. Order it and rewatch the video.
@@JimPankey If we all could learn by ear there wouldn't be any need for lessons.
I have trouble with tabs so I like his method. Somewhere around 7 minutes he mentioned where tabs are found if you missed it friend.
