  • We strapped our go pro next to the Lts seat and filmed Engine 75 going to a class three alarm for a problem with a boiler in a store. Engine 95 and ladder 36 first due. Engine 75 is housed with Ladder 33 and Battalion 19 in the Bronx. Their firehouse is located at 2175 Walton Avenue in the Bronx. Their firehouse nickname is the "Animal House." Enjoy and Subscribe

    My father, FF Mario L. Cassini was with this house for his entire career, 1962-1995. They were originally on Jerome Avenue and 183rd St. God Bless the FDNY.

    I’ve been to both their old quarters and their current quarters when the guys of the animal house moved to walton avenue at jerome avenue in 2000 right before 9/11 the building they originally were quartered at until 2000 is now almost 123 years old since it was built in 1901 and opened on christmas day of that same year, so for 99 years 75 engine was quartered there but in 1907 33 truck was then assigned with 75 engine the 19 battalion was then assigned later in the 20th century, in 1979 and in 2022 the guys of the animal house respond to the same box number in the same location which was box 2989 on west tremont avenue at montgomery avenue for a 2nd alarm fire, in 2002 75 engine and 33 truck gotten used mack cf rigs a 1988 mack cf pumper for 75 engine and a 1987 mack cf tower ladder for 33 truck now 275 engine and 133 truck are like the animal house of queens but without a division 19 the guys of the animal house are not alone with having a 75 and a 33 in their numbering because with engine 275 and ladder 133 they made a double to the animal house

      nrobert102 if you know a firefighter in the FDNY, ask him. Normally for most fire departments that do ride alongs, you fill out a form to ride along with the truck. They tell you what you can and can't do. Call the FDNY (NOT 911) if you have to like call their public information people.

    The driver should have the sirens constantly going so other drivers can hear it coming......like that van at the end of this clip.

    • @trr4488

      +KOE WOODS Yes I agree. Here in Australia they do that .

    • @ArmEConDoesMinecraft
      @ArmEConDoesMinecraft Před 7 lety +3

      KOE WOODS if it's constantly going, study shows it's not as effective as it would be if it were randomized like this. Plus it's the officer's preference. Sometimes they use wail and Yelp, others they use the manual like in this video.

      As much as I agree, It doesn't work that way, After working countless shifts, listening to sirens and air horns blaring constantly gets old

  • @BadenCityFire
    @BadenCityFire Před 10 lety +4

    in my opinion the siren and the horn should only be put in action by the driver !!!!!

    • @FlipSwitchGamesOfficial
      @FlipSwitchGamesOfficial Před 9 lety +21

      Well not a good idea, the driver needs to focus on driving and not have his hands or feet anywhere else.

    • @BadenCityFire
      @BadenCityFire Před 9 lety +1

      ok I understand. In my department the siren is only operated by the driver himselfe because he knows when and where he has to use it

    • @thegfxhousee799
      @thegfxhousee799 Před 9 lety +2

      In my department, our drivers don't make any noise. All that work is done by the officer

    • @Gunner-hl2oi
      @Gunner-hl2oi Před 8 lety +1

      +BadenCityFire Dumb here we the officer does everything like Rafael Said Driver needs to focus and anyway the Officer should also know where everything is with that said the Driver does have the ability to use the horn but mainly that is and should be done by the officer

    • @coltonchristman2070
      @coltonchristman2070 Před 8 lety +3

      too many pedals and buttons to worry about. the driver already has a million dollar piece of equipment he has to take care of while in new your city, and they have to have both hands on the wheel. it's safer to have the lt operate the siren and horns. I've only seen a horn pedal on 1 engine and it got disconnected because it was hit too often when not needed.
