As a Marvin main I laugh so hard at some lock on interactions. Marvin leads to the most fun wtf moments in MV

A good feeling is when you press the Neutral Special, and redirect one of his kill moves. I have killed SO many people with either the projectile of his jab, or the rocket.
But yeah lol, even his very light weight I felt it when void was screaming hahaha. He can be very slippery, but overall he's just SO light you have to play very carefully

They really gave marvin 4 different projectiles that are just orbs of energy.
The biggest problem when it comes to dealing with Marvin isn't his nice arsenal but it's his size. With some of the taller characters their attacks sometimes goes right over his head

Marvin just needs a tiny amount of help imo
Marvin has an annoying kit that can deal so much damage and fill the field, but it’s not a good kind of annoying. He lacks a sufficient way to kill quick with a confirm move, and pretty much all his kit can’t do much of a killing blow, only rocker and 3rd jab usually being the main ones you kill with (if they even hit), and the other moves always missing the knockout zone by just barely. It’s the reason he works better in 2v2s, as he mainly becomes the damage dealer support while the ally gets to confirm the kill. As someone who has played Marvin ever since the beta, it’s always annoying to get a character like Arya to 150 and them still being alive cause you can’t land your third jab and the rocket missed. Perhaps the best way to still keep him an assassin is to make some moves deal more knockback so he can confirm a kill easier. Having more weight would help, but he would then feel more like a mage if that was the case.

Don’t sleep on Marvin’s neutral special as a combo tool. The hit box is small but it spikes into the stage with low end lag and can even contribute to some small loops

Any Marvin mains/advocates who wanna share some tips or secrets? I played as Morty with a Marvin in twos, and the flag thing was awesome. Kinda wanna get into Marv more
Rocket also works with bubble, Marvin has a ladder kill combo but it requires you to make a important read in the middle of it. Bubble is bugged really badly, it sometimes won't connect if it redirects a projectile, the only one I know that works with bubble all the time is rocket with bubble.

Learn button loops neutral b into down air its damage is bonkers
Marvin has a loop.
If you Dair you can send them into tumble. You can hit them with button/neutral special and loop dair neutral special over and over till like 90 - 100. You have to follow DI for it to work but if you do it's easy damage. ( I don't wanna advertise but I explain it on my channel in a combo guide 😅)
Almost never use jab3 an a ender for jab combo (only when they are at high %s cuz its a really strong kill move). It won't hit if the opponent DIs out. It's always better to jump Sair or jump side special.
Use down attack A LOT it's by far his best move. It armor breaks, has long range, hitbox on his body and lingers. It also comes out pretty fast so it's a good edge guarding tool.
There are tons of things you can learn with Marvin, but I'll tell you what I wish I knew weeks ago. Marvin's biggest issue is killing, but he does have one good kill confirm. Air Down Attack > Air Up Attack > Jump + Double Jump > Up Special (Dair > Uair > FH DJ Up B if you're familiar with that notation). Works around 80-100 ish
Overall, too much stuff to tell you. I'd recommend watching top Marvins, see what they do, implement it, and then add your own spin when you're comfortable
Marvin hard counters a lot of top tiers to in doubles. Lots of armor breaking options to beat ww armor and bugs safe. Best zoner in the game.
He's so fun and versatile, but i think Up Special should do much more KB to actually feel like a special, idm if that means more endlag. And maybe Air Side Special sending more horizontal to get better offstage moments since marvins edge guarding is quite strong too!

At the first two weeks of Multiversus. I thought Marvin felt super cracked with the jab spam, the juggling, and the insane Ledgetrap he has with both Down attacks. I remember getting win after win, but then people started figuring out his gameplay and now it's hard to get kills at times. He's still my 2nd fav to play, but man, nerfing his jab... what are you doing PFG

Very rarely do I face marvins. When I do, he is the hardest character to fight against. One of the most underrated characters in the game ATM.

marvin is very much the pac-man of this game, the setups this character has are genuinely genuinely insane and the pressure he creates is really good but you have to have an IQ equivalent to Einstein in order to really bring the best in him

Even when Void plays Marvin, he's still trying to kill Jerry.
If he get's a 7-10% damage increase and the ability to ringout at 100-120 instead of 150+ he'd be A tier

Probs won’t get buffed much cause his win rate online is pretty high. Hard to say how much of that is people not knowing how to fight him though.
you were just in the patch notes talking about how he wasnt very good because you didnt understand that marvin requires mind games and set ups instead of just brawling like everyone else.
This character gives me the most problems. Like it’s just so much spam he’s throwing out it’s so hard to even engage

yeah pretty sure that car lasted more than 6 seconds and tanked more than 5 damage, which is weird because this person is NOT going for the fun gizmo stuff even pre-patch. disgusting. they only went for uncharged popcorn. to be fair it's against marvin, and regardless of my opinion on marvin otherwise? he is THE anti-fun character for gizmo
yeah there's jason. honestly considered the idea that "oh maybe this was all recorded today and they fixed gizmo" but nah the only things that they fixed about gizmo, were easily things that i would take as intentional game design OVER the idea that popcorn charge doesn't affect the explosion

Has someone from the smash community made a video talking about why this game is good? The game just looks so slow and floaty, and there's so much commitment to attacks that it seems like it does what you want it to a half a second layer.
Is that the appeal? To have fun feeling like you're playing with lag?
