- We live in Canada and moved from Ontario to Nova Scotia in March 2022. This is the first time we had even been the province as a family and we hadn't even seen our house in person before putting down an offer and committing to life in Nova Scotia.
We aren't sorry one bit and this first video shows how things have been going over the past two months since we relocated to the maritimes.
Keep watching our experiences in the province from the perspective of a young family and how we adapt to everything Nova Scotia has to offer.

I moved to Liverpool, NS from the US (Indiana) eight years ago. I absolutely love it here. While there are a few downsides, the upsides completely outweigh them. It is extremely difficult being away from family (especially during the pandemic) but I believe I'm here to stay. It feels like home to me and I love Nova Scotia more and more each day.
We just spent a week in Liverpool, it's nice spot! It's definitely a part of the world that is enjoyable to live in.
did you by your own land ?
are the downsides things like gun control and universal health care and no capital punishment
Moving to Pictou county in 3 weeks from Alberta!! Cant wait
I hope it all goes well!
I don’t know how I’m just finding this video, but welcome to pictou county, I’ve lived here my entire life, and I love it, wouldn’t live anywhere else
Thanks for sharing. We moved to NS (pictou county) almost 2 years ago and love it here!! True about moving expenses (always higher than estimate) and weather here is forever changing. As they say, if you dont like the weather now, wait 5 minutes and it will be different. The people are kind and friendly and adapting to the NS timeline for getting things done is an adjustment, but well worth it!
That sounds about right! Thanks for your comment
I’m moving to Halifax this year from Vancouver , is there possibilities for work there …I’ve heard bad reports about employment But also good things about it booming
@@laylachisom8996 not to worry. halifax is well on its way to becoming the vancouver that you are leaving.
Thanks for sharing your vlogs! We moved here in Halifax last August and absolutely loving NS province!
Welcome home
beautiful video. i've been considering nova scotia as a destination for myself recently-I grew up in Cape Breton and live on the West Coast-thanks for this, it was really helpful and inspiring. subscribing, so working on those black flies.
Welcome to Nova Scotia ! Fun videos. We moved from Montreal 8 years ago
Thank you! We’re glad to be here. :)
Great videos. Love the way you tell your story. Best of luck. Nova Scotia is amazing 🍀❤️ We moved to Halifax about a year ago and there is no other place I would rather be
Thank you for your comment! It’s one of the best locations in Canada from what I have visited so far. Enjoy!
Welcome to Nova Scotia ❤
Thank you for your sharing. By the way, the colour of this video is absolutely fantastic. I really like it .
Thanks!
Great content (awesome band choices too!) Moved to the South Shore (Lunenburg County) two years ago from Southern Ontario and haven't been back since!
We moved to NS 3 months ago after having lived 10 years in the Middle East. We bought a home in Colchester County and love it. We found a wonderful real estate agent who helped us all the way.
Best of luckto you and your family!
Thanks! And the same to you :)
I look forward to watching your content 😊 I'm moving to New Glasgow in 4 wks 😀
Thanks and I hope your move goes well! We are about 20 mins away from New Glasgow, it’s a nice little town.
waw am praying to God every day to relocate me and my family to Nova Scotia, and bless us with a house like this, So happy for you and your family, I pray for more blessings for you all
Thank you for your kind words; I hope everything works out well for you too!
Praying to a fairy tale entity won't work for you. Try self-determination....
the nova scotia will soon be like southern ontario
I grew up 'in the Valley' (the Annapolis Valley for those that are CFA - come from away types) but moved to Toronto before I was 20. In my mid 30's I was longing to come home (for good)...but a surprise trip in February for my grandmother's birthday cured all that .....There's nothing like NS in February to make you think about the folly you're about to commit. Absolutely bonechilling for sure.....but here I am, a couple of decades later and seriously making plans to move. The pandemic showed a lot of us what was truly important....and for me, it's being home.
I just moved from Ontario to the Acadian Peninsula and I would sincerely like to thank Nova Scotia for soaking up all the rotten winter weather 😅
Liked and subscribed ...don't be discouraged. It takes a while to get subs but your content is lovely! 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
Thank you for watching!
My husband and I are looking to move to NS..too God willing ...leaving ontario
I hope it all works out for you!
God bless you
It did.. we made it ! ...we are blessed.
Just a tip from someone with experience, when doing your own moving make sure your legs are in top condition.😎
Oh that's great advice, but I'm still skipping leg days :)
I want this so bad. I’m from southern Ontario, and it’s been my goal for atleast the last 7-8 years to have a fresh new start and move to Nova Scotia. I will be following ❤
I want to visit Nova Scotia
Great channel! ... Is Nova Scotia a good place for remote IT/programmers? Fast broadband internet?
Thanks and yes, it's as good as anywhere else in Canada and fiber is being rolled out to most rural locations.
How long ESDC takes to Halifax LMIA in Halifax?
I don’t know what any of that means 😬
We are moving out in 2025 when we retire and our youngest daughter finishes high school here on Vancouver Island, Came out last year for a scout around the province, so lovely! Bringing our older daughter out for university next month and another ten day visit for us. I would be a bit scared to buy a place without seeing it!
Yes buying a home without seeing it was less than ideal and is somewhat risky. We had a really detailed home inspection, water inspection and septic inspection and so we felt it was a good home based on those results. Hopefully you’re move out east goes well!
We retired to NS from Ontario in 2019. Our only son lives in Duncan. Quite the distance apart, but we visit them and they visit us, so it's all good!
I'll be moving there from jamaica in march 2023.... I would love some assistance to find a home for rent
Good luck. Maybe you can find another remote job so you don't have to leave...
There is always that possibility! ;)
My wife and I are planning to move to Nova Scotia from San Diego California
Wow that’s quite the relocation! My is from SF and lived for a couple of years in Sam Diego, she loves it out here for the most part. Being away from family is hard though.
@@LifeinNovaScotia nice. We will be moving to the shelburne area. We are both finishing up naturopathic medicine in San Diego and might open a clinic out there
Oh great! Well I hope it all works out for your guys.
What is the spider situation... literally just read an article about giant spiders in Cape Breton.
I once saw a little furry guy watching me from a pile of logs. We agreed to leave each other alone and that’s about the worst of it. To be fair, I’d rather see more spiders than flies/mosquitoes but it’s really a non-issue when it comes to spiders out here.
We have lots of large hairy spiders here in Bear River, NS. They are called fishing spiders, dock spiders - in the wolf spider family....usually find them outside but have had a few in the house. Quite harmless, really. Yellow sac spiders look innocuous but carry quite the nasty bite. I'd be more worried about those ones....
Wait till you see a wood spider 2.5 - 3" from back legs to front legs. It's best for your neurotic tendencies to stay in Ontario.
Why do you have to move to the US?
For work, my employer wants me to relocate rather than work remotely.
@@LifeinNovaScotia My family is moving back to Canada after ten years in the US for family reasons. We picked Nova Scotia. If you move to the US, hope it works out. Many great things about the US but also with drawbacks, as you pointed out in this video there are positives and negatives everywhere. Look forward to seeing if you have additional videos on NS.
@@michaelomorchoe2952 Thanks Michael! I will be trying to keep the videos coming when work doesn't get in the way. All the best with your family relocation!

The thing is, most Nova Scotians don’t want you here.
Ya know, that wasn’t our experience but I have heard others say this.
nova scotia is ruined by the influx.
rapidly becoming southern ontario
That is patently untrue. Get off your high horse and you DO NOT speak for all Nova Scotians. What about folks like me, whose forefathers settled Aylesford/Berwick area in 1772??? I came from Ontario. so what??? Go to hell.
You don't speak for all or "most" of us.
@@user-pp4ve6qo1b You are a fool. It's a different time now than 250 years ago when they gave away land for free. The majority of us don't want them here, YOU do not speak for us.
you some city lol who hires a moving company
The moving company quote was cheaper than hiring a rental truck
@@LifeinNovaScotia Exactly!!! We moved to Bear River from Ontario in 2019 and we got quotes from UHaul and real moving companies. The UHaul rental was WAY more than having Allied come and load/deliver/unload. Unreal! Who would have thought that would be the case??
