- After moving to Nova Scotia from British Columbia, I thought it would be helpful to newcomers to go over some of the Pros & Cons I've experienced of moving to the South West shore of Nova Scotia. I hope this video is helpful for some of you!

Well done! We made the moved from Van Island, Sooke, BC in Oct 21. Purely for financial reasons, it got too expensive to live there! We arrived Nov 9, bought our house shortly thereafter, moved in Dec 1st. Taxes ... agree, (yikes!) made a mistake with the first year income tax claim! Cost us dearly. Would have been better to say we moved for Jan 1st, even though we Lived in BC officially for 11 months and 1 month in NS ...had to pay NS tax for all 12 months!
We Have been doing similar as you, we bought our first rental property, Jan, 2022, I'm currently working on the purchase of a duplex, which we live in half, rent out the other half, and rent out the house we are in now. Giving us "3 doors" .... even though the Gov't and the rental situation has been ...um "challenging", I wish we had done this "a long time ago"! PS, if you haven't found them yet, look up IPOANS in Halifax.

You can do it! Come for a visit, she will love it! There's room for your friends and family and you can visit home once a year or when you need to :)

There is a reason why Vancouver is more expensive than Nova Scotia, its not random.
well, its not because its a better place to live, that is for sure.
