- I try to fit 205/70/15 all terrain tyres on the caddy van. The tyre of choice is Yokohama Geolander. This is the 1st upgrade of the upcoming van build. I'm going for the VW Swamper look for the overall camper van build.

That’s great, I looked at fitting 16s as wasn’t sure how easy it was to get ATs in 15s but was easy enough. I bet it looks good with the 16s, what ATs are you running?
Looks well, I’m going to do this with mine. Probably going to get the standard steelys powder coated black and see if they look any good. Thanks for this video helped me out a lot knowing if they’ll fit etc 👍

Ha yes I was and still very tempted but trying to keep the van build as a budget build. I was thinking about just painting the wheels black but who knows what I’ll do in the future as even I don’t 😂
hi mate, just seen this video! van looks very smart. I have a 2016 1.6 TDI caddy with off road toyo tyres on, they are incredibly useful and the van goes where my hilux doesn't dream of going!
Well that’s good to know that your caddy is good in the muddy stuff with the toyos. Is your caddy a 4motion? I’m not planning on any off-roading in mine but wanted to know I have a better chance if I do venture off the tarmac. Thanks for watching mate 👍
To be honest, im not too sure if it is a 4 motion. Its a reliable van though. However, I have received some major problems at only 96k miles. It needed a new clutch,break discs, wishbones, injectors,callipers and a lot more. It's an ex police van for West Mercia police so has been through the wars! But, its a great van and a speedy one too! @@LoneWolfExplorer
@@amasfarmcontracting7602 That’s interesting, don’t think I’ve seen a police caddy van before, well not that I can remember anyway. They are great little vans, I really like mine and I’m not easily pleased. Mines a high mileage one and had quite a lot of work done also, including the injector.
Mostly used by dog unit but the shorter caddy vans are rarer for the Uk police as they have now gone for the longer base caddys. I usually go to breakers yards for parts as they are cheap and really reliable. No need spending so much at VW dealerships as they can rip you off! VW wanted to charge me £10k for a new clutch and gearbox but got the clutch and gearbox fitted at a small garage for £2k. hasn't broken down since(March 2023)@@LoneWolfExplorer
@@amasfarmcontracting7602 Wow 10k for a clutch at VW…..that’s mind boggling. I only use smaller garages anyway or try to do stuff myself. The previous owner of my van had nearly all the work done at VW, I’d imagine yours did aswell being ex police.
195/80r15 fit ad well. I'm using tyres off a Jimni

Hello wondering what the ride is like now I’ve got all seasons on at mo but really want some of these but with the higher profile didn’t want it to be too wobbly on the road
It all honestly I think it drives great, more sure footed especially in winter and bad weather. I’m really happy with my decision 👍
I have 18" wheels, do you know of any all terrain options?
Well actually yes, Yokohama do these in an 18” as I’m looking at using them on my Subaru in a 235/60/18. Also Falken wildpeaks do a 235/60/18 & Toyo open country do a 235/60/18. I had some BFG all terrain in an 18” on my Discovery 2 many years ago but can’t remember the size, they were bigger than 235/60/18 so it depends on what size you want.

Hi, I tried to use google translate but its not that accurate so I'll try my best to answer. First of all thanks for watching and did the subtitles help? With cornering, I can't notice much seems the same as before. Not sure how much it raised it off the floor with the bigger tyres but it has no suspension lift. I have checked the speedo & it is now accurate according to GPS on sat-nav.
Is it a 1,6 litres diesel?
