Mornings are for coffee and contemplation
OH YEAH! That's the one that stick with me too, That's so me.
Same. Wonderful quote. lol
Alejandro Mobilia COFFEE, AND CONTEMPLATION *Ignoring everyone around*
Alejandro Mobilia yea they are!
This guy is awesome. So glad he's got a secure job in Stranger Things now.
David nails every point he delivers about the show and his character, I could listen to this dude talk about it all day.
He's such a likeable dude!

David is extremely well spoken, and he's simply fantastic in Stranger Things. I feel like Hopper is such a complex & interesting character that you want to root for.
Absolutely, I never knew how awesome he was as an individual until seeing how unique and well spoken he was during this interview. He is someone I'd love to hang out with and that is going to be awesome to see now in season 2. I can't wait to see what the Duffer Bros do with season 2. I am going to go in without expectations just as I did season 1 because I don't want to hype it up as I LOVED the first season. With such high expectations I might ruin it expecting such awesome things for a sequel. We all know how so many sequels have bombed throughout film history lol
Typical Ivy Leaguer
This is by far the best Stranger Things interview so far. Don't get me wrong, all the interviews with the kids are fantastic, but this one delves slightly deeper into the craft of acting. It also helps that Hopper was my favorite character on the show...Eleven close second, Dustin third.
80sKid
Hopper was amazing. Out of all of them, he was the one I was most worried would die doing something heroic.
@@TeaSquiffy2 how do you feel now?
80sKid eleven is the best now
Haha David is great. It's a shame he wasn't more well known before Stranger Things, I think he is a great actor and deserves a better career. Hopefully with the help of Stranger Things he will.
For real he's come out in so many great movies and he's been great in those movies
I thought he was great in Black Mass
Shazam Now there's rumors of him maybe playing Cable in Deadpool 2! Great actor, well worthy of the role. ✌
The best actor and character on the show.
Yeah he was fantastic
He is so down to earth, very passionate about acting. I really love hopper, great character.
This show wouldn't be the same without David Harbour. He's so involved in his craft, I've never heard someone explain how they've injected their characters with the bad parts of themselves - to make them more relatable. I really enjoyed this interview.
never seen someone so passionate about their craft
15:39 "Look at this kid's, they're so adorable" Ooohhh, this is so adorable :3
Love all the praise he gave to Winona Ryder and her work. This show was such a beautiful surprise to me. Love Harbour and the entire cast.
Chief Hopper ... such a manly man!!! I am a 63 year old grandmother and if I was 30 years younger ... LOL!!!!
Seriously out of most of the interviews Ive seen, his ideas for season two sound the most concrete. Cant wait for it! He was amazing as Chief Hopper!
I loved The Chief so much.
first three episodes, i didn't even pay attention to him, but then i realized what a hottie he is. Great character, fantastic actor. Can't wait for season 2
Oh, he had me at "coffee and contemplation." (episode 1, scene 2 featuring him)
Such an honest straight talking funny interview. You know I can get the fact that I've watched Stranger Things more than once, it's a great show. Never thought I'd be re-watching an interview about the show though!
Harbour is such an amazing guy.
I remember him from (2005) Brokeback Mountain only.
Never got the chance to watch another one.
I think we're gonna see him more often from here onwards.
Wait What? He was in Brokeback Mountain?? Now I gotta rewatch that..
I actually only know him of "Equalizer"... but he fits the role of Hopper dead on! Such a lovable character
I totally knew the guy from "The Green Hornet".
He was great in Newsroom, that's where he came to my attention - took a while to grow into the role, but still. Working with Sorkin always makes actors great.
watch The Newsroom
Didn't think i was going to watch this whole interview. I'am glad I did.... he is such a great actor and conversationalist. He should do his own podcast. :)
I love how David is like the biggest fan of a show he’s in.
His smile lights up his whole face. Lol. And I thought that also when I first saw this "hey it's that guy! The one who always plays a bad guy"
He was so awesome in this show! Favorite character.
Wow. That was an AMAZING interview. I love Hopper even more now
so handsome and great guy, like realy real man - intelligent, with humor and confident
Listening to this guy talk was great, I want to see a lot more of him in the future.
I like what he said about how acting can lead to empathy and understanding how/why anyone became the way they are.
Best show that I seen this year and I can't wait for season 2. I hope he gets nominated for a golden globe award.
I guess you could say I've been harbouring....a crush on David Harbour
This man is an unbelievable gem... Lily Allen is a lucky lady to be able to spend significant time with this thoughtful, intelligent, lovely man.
Hearing them talking about body shape and normal-people-representation i just like to say: Im totally into his belly, like.. for real! And thats not because im into body shapes like this. I just love his character and everything on Jim Hopper is perfect, because it fits him so well. And dont get me wrong, im not crazy, i know its a fictional character im talking about. But like he said, we want to see real people we can identify with. And i think this man is so damn sexy with every burden he is carrying and the exact way he is looking. I would date this guy, without question!
LilKirschkid I 100 percent agree! And yeah I would also so date a guy like Hopper!
I knew that I loved this guy after watching the show but this really cemented my idea that he's not only a great guy but an amazing actor as well. Then he seems genuinely excited to audience questions. So awesome.
David Harbour has become my favorite actor in the Stranger Things, hope they keep him till the very end.
the depth of appreciation he has for this craft is incredible. i hope to see him directing one day
This show is FIRE! Netflix, no time to snooze, we want 2 more seasons before the cast gets cold feet!
This guy needs to take Harrison fords place as Indiana jones
Mr. Barton
Fuck. Yes.
he sounds just like him
just bc the hat scene jeez
He's so right. There's something about movies like Aliens, Blade Runner, Indiana Jones, Terminator, The Goonies, E.T. That 80s thing just feels nice when watching and the storytelling flows better. I also agree on what he said about modern movie/filming style and creating universe set-ups. Stranger Things got every film aspect right in my opinion. Just watched the whole season yesterday and i have not felt stress, fear, and interest in characters like that in a long time. I wanted to root for the people so bad. How all characters started to blend together in the story was clever writing. Fantastic acting and a banger of a series! - The Netherlands is hooked!
I keep coming back to this interview. It's fantastic. Hope to see more David Harbour.
great to see a true artist get some recognition; and he seems like such a great person, too.
LOVE Hopper. He makes the show.
Love this guy, his acting blew me away and I think he has one of the most interesting characters in the show. I just want to know more about his past and what made him the way he is. I'm so glad Netflix didn't choose popular actors (except Winona) and gave us the chance to discover these amazing people
I could listen to him talk about his work all day
Exceptional authenticity and clairvoyant analysis on our time and what touches our hearts
My friends friends uncle is David harbour. When my friend FaceTimed her friend David harbour was with them. I asked my friend if she could ask David harbour to say hi to me somehow, and a couple minutes later I got a video and he was like hi I heard you guys go to the same middle school that’s cool. I was shook
David Harbour rocks! Love that he talks about representing compassion towards people who are marginalized, outspoken, and considered outsiders in society.
He is such a loveable guy ❤️❤️
It's so sad that this is probably one of the best stranger things interviews ever but this probably one of the least viewed ones. Like David really knows what he's talking about and is very connected to acting. The kids obviously have cute and funny interviews but this is just so entertaining to listen to.
Mornings are for Coffee & contemplation, Evenings are for watching David Harbour describe his craft.
DANGG I’m so glad I watched this show even just to get to know the actors. Harbour is amazing..!
He's so refreshing and honest about stuff. Need more David Harbour out there!
He really was fantastic. Although the shows are vastly different, I feel like what Stranger Things and Game of Thrones have in common, is impeccable casting. There was not a single part in Stranger things that was not extremely well acted. So I guess Stranger Things actually has GoT beat if you take the Sand Snakes into account.
omg, PLEASE don't bring up the Dorne storyline, it's like a parasite on GoT
but yeah, I totally agree about the casting and though I doubt ST will get 8 seasons, I still do hope we'll get at least 3 and get to see these amazing kids grow and evolve into EVEN BETTER actors than they already are in the way that Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner and Isaac Hempstead Wright did
The problem with GoT is that they never intended to go to Dorne. Then Pedro Pascal was such a hit as Prince Oberyn so they, like in the midst of planning the season, decided to cram the entire Dornish plot into around 5 episodes. So, yes, it was a pile of puke. Which is a shame because it's pretty cool and fun in the books. But to do it properly would have required them to fully integrate it into at least 2 seasons on the show at the expense of other storylines.
I'm a child of the 90s but I absolutely get their mentality. I feel pretty much the same about movies and pop culture, there really was magic back in those days!
Omg the way he talked about Winona 🥺❤️🥰❤️❤️🥰❤️❤️❤️
David is such a nice guy! so genuine and humble !
david "the problem with comic book movies is....."
*gets a role in hellboy"
ordinary Productions
I can always criticise a rich man, but if he offers me a lot of money I'm not going to turn it down.
Ha ha
He was also in Suicide Squad, hahaha.
Katie Herzig he was..?
Katie Herzig oh, he was!
Man, he's such a hunk!
Where the hell was this video hiding!?

Hes so funny and honest and real I loveee himmmm
“If a cop says he’s going to taser you, stop whatever your doing”-David Harbour
Words of wisdom!
Wow, it was a very, very interesting interview !! David has so much things to say, so much passion for his job. And the interviewer was really good. It felt like a conversation.
36:38 the fact that he’s not in this business for the the fame makes me love him even more!
David is sooo on point in criticizing comic book movies. We're supersaturated with this nonsense. We need a couple decade break from super heroes.
But there's also room for really great superhero films, like Logan, The Dark Knight, and Winter Soldier. It's also important to tell inclusive stories inside a major blockbuster like Wonder Woman did for so many young girls and women. Stories that have pure, genuine, and heartfelt messages, no matter the genre, are always needed. That said, the majority of them are just fun action flicks. Which I don't think is bad, but there is a responsibility I think to the audience to make you think, to make you feel- whether it be sadness, anger, joy, or inspiration. We've become oversaturated with good films and not with truly great ones. They're so formulaic that they've lost that feeling of genuineness. But there is that one that comes along and reminds you why you love those types of films. They just need to understand that you can throw a superhero in a western or a political thriller or a period piece. They're far more capable of just being fun action blockbusters. They have every possibility of being great. They just need to try to be.
Katie Herzig your comment needs several "likes". I so agree.
Penelope416 thanks!
Aaand now he's playing hellboy XD
AnotherRandomBrandon Harbour never said that he wouldn't play a superhero. He just said that a lot of the superhero films are not relatable and are washed out.
Jesus what a lovely man 😍
david harbour has a beautiful personality i swear like what a attractive man😌💯
I had binge watched Downton Abbey which was fantastic and going through withdrawal symptoms and started watching Stranger Things and totally hooked! The actors are brilliant! Hard to name a favourite character as they are ALL interesting and good.
Fuck.. I watched 3 seasons of the show and multiple interviews of this guy, wondering where I had seen him before.. The Newsroom!! Completely went out of my mind.. Damn, that was a fantastic show..
I can't get enough of this guy!
Stranger Things 1&2 were the first „movies“ that I rewatched in a long time. Damn its so good I can’t wait for ST3.
He's so amazing I can't even process how cool he is?? How cone I didn't know him before??
Im so in love with this man
I love this guy.
Only 3 dislikes this has to be a youtube record
If you’re reading this while watching, please watch the whole thing all the way. It’s hilarious and after watching this you will definitely love David. He seems such chill and complex person who is honest about himself and he has this rugged yet soft charisma going on, i don’t really know how to describe it but it’s awesome.
My god is he gorgeous or what!!!! Most handsome man in the world!!!!!
Coming here after watching all three seasons, and thank god I never watched the trailers. The impact is so different without the soundtracks!
I totally got the vibe that he wanted to give to that character ❣️
I really like David Harbour he is such a cool and nice guy I hope to see more of him in the coming years
He's so passionate about his work
Thank you Aol! I've been waiting/searching for his interview for awhile now ha
Watched this interview straight through. Agreed bout a lot of what David harbour said bout the grounded clunkiness of the 80s. Today's movies are too smooth. Too perfect. It's easy to admire, but it can get exhausting when u can't relate. This dude is ridiculously likable.
i love him
11:07 Grandma😂😂😂😂😂
what happened to his leg? :(
if the stuff decides to kill him in the second season, im gonna burn the world down
Hollywood should make a reboot of India Jones and cast this guy as India Jones
RESPECT LEVEL FOR DAVID HARBOUR HAS SKYROCKETED📈📈👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
David Harbour should be the next Indiana Jones
love him
9:45 so says Hellboy haha, he killed it as Hopper in ST2!
Lol I love how he referred to Gaten as Dustin!
I cried seeing the trailer of the first season :(
#justiceforBenny
That was great
He was great he gave a very natural performance i really believed he was the character.
'I want art to be representative of us. I don't want it to be something that's outside of us.' - Tales a part in Suicide Squad and signs on to play Hellboy. Haha!
I like David Harbour. I like comic book films. I found that funny.
lol he called Gaten Dustin
Last time I watched a movie more than once in the theatre was The fellowship of the ring. I believe I saw it 4 times.
I absolutely how David refers to 80's films as "clunky." I think that's the perfect adjective to refer to them with.
Oh so awesome a 1975 person, just like myself! Anyway, I highly agree with Mr. Harbour that was certainly less slick about 80s movies that made them so enjoyable and that's missing in much of today's films. I also agree that it's better seeing people you can relate to onscreen. Man, would love to have David Harbour lead an acting workshop someday would sign up for that for sure!!
he's amazing!!
He is so beautiful 😌
he my fav :3 ♥
One at a dam time!
