You know you can kill strategic map characters with military units right? Just (on the campaign map) move units onto the 8 surrounding spaces, followed by moving one onto the space the character is occupying. The character will be displaced, but unable to move anywhere, so it will just die. You can use beat up units of peasants or militia to keep the cost down.
You can create a ton of Cardinals by loading all your priests on a ship and dropping them off in the middle on a Muslim territory. The territory will go from 0-95% Catholic in one or two turns and the lot, not limited to 13, will become Cardinals. The limit is 13 _voting_ Cardinals. Whenever I do this, I usually get six or seven votes for Pope. If your assassins kill all the other Cardinals in the game, your best Cardinal will become Pope without an election. But if you see another faction being granted a vote, you know where to send your assassins.

A grill into medieval? That's new. Medieval 2 is an amazing game made even better by the mods for it. SShip, for example, is like an entire new game with the same engine. And it's harder than vanilla which is rather easy.
SSHIP is really taxing on my laptop such that i can't really play it. Also it only has an early campaign but have recently heard there is or soon will be an update which might add the late campaign at last. It did try it though and it's certainly an impressive mod. I'm using a recently updated 'Kingdoms Grand campaign mod' v 5.0.2 ... it runs pretty well and is really stable.
I took Cairo in a Crusade and wanted to establish myself quickly, so I had some priests with me. There was one heretic preacher with fairly high piety in the region so I sent everyone to get rid of that guy. Problem was, he converted every single priest I had... After I built a church and sent out another priest, only for that one to also get converted, I wanted to see how far this could escalate. It felt like a zombie apocalypse, in the end I had to abandon Cairo due to public unrest and made for Jerusalem.
I swear heretics are the worst. I can live with a province where an army of my top-tier crusade veterans has rebelled for years without much issue but the moment one random old man in rags appears, my position becomes untenable.
This is great content. You have an excellent "tutorial" / teaching voice. I would love to have a big playlist of videos on this topic. And I'm pretty familiar with all this information since the game is probably the game I've played the most. I still really like how you present it. The edits are very well done. I got the spanish inquisition reference!
When I was younger and the grass was greener I used to love to burn those heretics playing Medieval II. I tried even recently but those outdated battles kill me :(. After Attila it is really hard to play older games for the exception of Shogun 2 especially FoTS. Recently found that campaign for MK 1212 is released years ago and started few almost at the same time, great stuff but still miss some med 2 features like these heretics for example :).
Cool video. If you're interested in Rome Total War, I recommend making a video on the squalor mechanic, it's really hillarious and weird. Would make for an interesting video.
Good thing I saw the last bit before I replied :P The problem is, if you expand the video content to cover expansions, should you then cover mods? If so, which ones? What if they're updated ect. The scope of the video becomes too extensive, hence the base game small print.

No, they still spawn even with a public order of 250%. There are other factors, like not having watchtowers or forts for one thing. Maybe the authority of generals in the province or if there's a general at all in the province? In descr_rebel factions, each rebel faction has a chance of spawning also. I like rebel armys. I've modded all mine to make them more like real armys instead of ... town militia, peasant archers ect
Pedro de abues was part of the Spanish inquisition, which was started by king Ferdinand and queen Isabella of Spain. They were especially targeting people who were referred to as 'conversos'; Jewish people who had converted to Catholicism (often involuntarily). Many of these were suspected of secretly practicing Judaism. When Pedro de abues came to a particular town to start an inquisition there, someone stabbed him and he died a few days later.
Alot of people think Venice is a really strong faction. I think venice has more unique units, ...venetian heavy infantry, venetian archers, stradiots, Galleass, but that might be about it. They both get the artists studio. I just spent the last several days modding Venice into a really good faction with lots of unique units ... I made copies of Forlorn hope (Ducal Guard), Reiters (Black Riders ... on armoured horses), Javelinmen (Italian Javelinmen), Dismounted huscarls (Venetian Infantry), EE Spearmen (Italian Spearmen), Italian Cavalry Militia (Ducal Cavalry on mailed horse), and also made a Venetian knight unit (on barded horse) and a heavy knight generals bodyguard unit (on armoured horse) all using the Italian cavalry militia model, and i also turned the Stradiots into pikemen using the pike militia model. I've never played as Milan ... i'm just not a fan of crossbows because they fire so slowly and i think their two Milanese crossbow units are the only unique units they have. I would like to give Milan a makeover soon ... they share the same colour scheme as Ireland so i'll probably add some Irish units to Milan (yeah i'm using a mod - Kingdoms Grand Campaign mod) ... like the Muire and Ulster Swordsmen, Gaelic archers, calivermen and mouted calivermen, lords retinue.

That depends on what factors are causing the low public order. Rebel armies also occur when an army defects to the rebel faction.
