I found MCR when I was 15. That was 2 years ago... I'm a little fetus emo kid, I know. First song I found was WTTBP, then Teenagers, then Dead! and then finally moved on to Helena, which is what really kickstarted my obsession for this band. I have listened to every song, every demo, and every cover they made. Honestly, My Chem is more than a band:

I found MCR 5, almost 6 years ago, I was like 10. I used to love I Don't Love You when I was like 7 years old, but then I started liking Green Day, and that made me listen to MCR, and then my whole life changed.
I found them 2 years ago, but I prefer Bring Me The Horizon, Black Veil Brides and bands like that, so I don't listen to MCR as often. I never really got into Fall Out Boy or Panic!, I don't know why.
And I'm from the same town as BMTH, which I'm still really surprised about

I dressed up as Gerard from revenge era twice in one year the exact same way in 2013 lol (yes the yea they split, there were MCRmy meetups in London for about a year afterwards) - bought the exact same skeleton onesie he used to have, covered my skin including my lips with my foundation (I'm already translucent) and did those black scars all over my face he used to do and green eyeshadow across my face that he did once. And I'd just dyed my hair black. It was a look. 15 year old me was truly an emo icon.
What age was I when I discovered MCR? 31. Last year I worked on the Italian edition of DC's Young Animal Doom Patrol (written by GW himself) and I was amazed, and I knew I'm Not Okay from back in the days, and I remembered I enjoyed it, so I listened to ALL the music and I still don't know why I ignored it all at the time, since I listened to other so-called emo bands (FOB, Rise Against, even Enter Shikari). Maybe I was just trying to avoid looking too emo, because emo was bad, even though I grew up listening to grunge and alt-rock.

The nostalgia is so real. I think I discovered MCR around 2005/6 so I was probably about 14. I was - and still am - super into the emo music, I was all about: Funeral for a Friend, Bullet for my Valentine, Panic! at the Disco, Paramore will always be my #1. This tutorial is perfect.

Okay I know this is crazy but I was 6 cause Helena was on the ending credits scene of House of Wax and my older sister who was 11 at the time was obsessed with that song. So she would replay the ending credit scene all the time just to listen to Helena which is when I started to like them.

I discovered MCR back in 2005 when I was 14 almost 15 years old. I still remember it was during a trip to Chicago to visit an uncle and we stayed at his house and I put his tv on MTv to fall asleep and the Helena video eventually came out and instantly fell in love.

I didn't know how much I need this in my life. 2004/05 me has come out for the rest of the day.
i found them when i was 11, about to turn 12. it was sort of weird bc i found them when i was in the hospital for mental illness and i remember it perfectly. it was the in the evening, what we in the ward called Shower Hour where basically you showered after dinner, it sort of overlapped with visitation hour too. so we were allowed to listen to music, we had a boom box at the end of the hallway where we would turn it up loud so all the rooms in the hall could hear in the shower. shower hour was the liveliest time in the ward tbh, we got to get clean, have private time while we showered, visiting was happening and meds were happening all at once! so we put in 3 cheers for sweet revenge (really not sure why they let us listen to that in the children’s psych ward but the cool head nurse was there so he let us) and i fell in love with it. i remember a bunch of us finished showering and all just sat on the floor and listened to it until the hour ended and it was honestly one of the best moments of my stay that time (obviously there weren’t many of those but you know). i’ve loved them ever since then and if any of my friends are wondering what to get me as a gift they just get me something mcr themed and i’m beyond happy with it!

I started listening to MCR, FOB, and P!ATD in 2006 in the 6th grade and never really stopped. Early work, late work I love it all. My biggest life regret is never getting to see MCR before they broke up whereas I've seen FOB 5 times and P!ATD twice.

I found out about my chemical romance when i was 12 in 2013 right before/after they broke up (i can’t remember)
