- Baptism of Fire is a HUGE success (top bestseller all week) and had so many great reviews and praise. But of course, the people who hate me are desperately trying to find reasons to put it down...

Won't lie, I was tickled to hear you read my review aloud! I'm glad you liked it and I hope it helped!
Thank you so much for writing it!
THEN THE WINGED MEATBALL ARRIVED!
Sheesh, not another historically authentic game set in 11th century Poland!
LOL!
IKR?
@@lordshell It’s just so derivative! You just can’t swing a cat in a game shop without hitting at least two 11th century Poland games. We need something fresh, like fantasy college students going to food fairs and celebrating their neurodivergence and sexual identities. Why doesn’t someone try that? Why does it always have to be Poland?
"another historically authentic game set in 11th century Poland!"
Well let's avoid those bold hyperboles.
A polished Polish game is aggravating to the unpolished and un-Polish. Unsurprising.
Well put!
if your biggest complaint is that the helmet is wrong that please get bent.
this product is outstanding. (I got the Amazon version and have had for almost a week)
I sent images of this to a Polish Woman I work with and she got very excited about the concept and told me that I would have a great time with all the different mythos and wants to hear about the shenanigans that group gets up to.
Awesome!
... Because if you made it steampunk, players would spend the whole game trying to screw in a light bulb. 😃👍
Perfection
They would have to be very small to fit.
@@JohnSmith-jv7mv - You must be Polish. 😅
I'm happy for your triumph on its own, but also glad to see the OSR as a continuing viable source for the very best our hobby has to offer. Shemha'amfora'ash, hoss!
Thanks, Venger!
Oh, young Venger, stop casting incantations on everyone. At least not when you are ten, on school property. Once you're an adult, open season...
1990’s TTtRPGing is the golden age of modules and RPG games being introduced into the market, so it’s a compliment to compare BOF to that time.
Hello, sadly I don't know any Polish RPG which is set in this very important period of history of my country. Only Polish historical TTRPG which I heard of is Dzikie Pola (Wild Planes), which is set in XVII century but it wasn't published for many years now. Good job, Pundit!
Thank you, I appreciate it, and I hope you enjoy it! I'm especially pleased when I hear Poles (particularly from Poland) telling me they like the game.
By the way, congratulations on your book's success. I also love Polish folklore and history.
Thank you!
You should make the first medieval authentic game set in the "Byzantine" empire. No other game has done that before and it's an overlooked empire for some reason.
There's _Mythic Constantinople_ for Mythras, but that's focused more on the tail end of the empire.
It could be awesome. A mix of cultures, the turbulence, and cynocephales
@@hyperboreansky Oh, those doggies are in Mythic Constantinople alright (along with other critters), and the list of cultures is only somewhat streamlined because the Byzantines considered everyone from (Western) Europe to be _some_ flavor of "Frank".
imagine thinking calling somebody a gnat-see has any effect anymore. they completely devalued that label in ever way. which should never have happened. but the cult doesnt care about the consequences, until its way way WAY too late.
I played a Traveller game and came up with a character name which was the very legitimate Polish name of Wojciech "Woody" Szczyszcznyk, and could pronounce it on demand! In Russian letters there is tremendous space-saving where it is щыщнык.
Thanks for specifying which Germany! It's much appreciated.
Pundit, when will we see a historically authentic game set in medieval times where you play dominating invading cats ?!?!
Patiently awaiting my physical copy. Plans to use it in my next campaign:)
Wonderful!
You know what they say, if you call someone a fan of 1930s Germany that means you have lost the argument.
Congrats to your great success! I have added the Hard Back of BOF and the soft cover of Star Adventures to my latest purchases , I hope to see that Poznan Supplement soon! My group and I hope to start our BOF campaign within the the next two weeks ! Best of luck to you from modern day Poznan!
Awesome! Thank you.
Do think B.o.F this would be a cool thing to bring into HELVECZIA.
It's another game of Eastern European Folklore though it's not medieval Authentic.
Helveczia is actually about Swiss folk tales, if I recall correctly. But I don't know enough about it (never read it) to be able to say how it would mix in.
You deserve the success, definitely need this.
Looking forward to checking it out, might bite a bullet
and get the premium copy.
Looking forward to it.
Than you very much! I"m sure you'll like the game.
It's ranked 75 on the fantasy gaming new release list on Amazon.
4:24 Interesting that this review sounds a little like something I would say if I reviewed the product.
Even though we have huge differences in terms of politics and game design, Kasimir's haters are trash tier people.
Good for him. Gonna pick up a copy of BoF.
Thank you. Spread the word.
The bit about the helmet. I totally agree. It is in a style of a late 11-12th century helm. The roundness of the top is the thing that throws it off, but Corinthian. You have 2 brain cells left if you think that.
Like I said, the "corinthian" claim is understandable when you realize that it comes from people who have studied a little, but think they actually know a lot.
@@RPGPundit And anyone that knows your products knows you wouldn't let a Greek helm into a 11th century setting. But we can't assume they read anything let alone your products.
I am now waiting on my copy of this book it looks awsome! Support all the way.
Thank you very much!
Congrats on the success of Baptism of Fire! Authentic settings aren't quite my thing, but it looks gorgeous and intriguing. I'm also a grateful owner of Cults of Chaos, and I think it's an excellent product. (Anyone reading this should know that it is very useful for integrating cults as villains into your game regardless of system.)
I'm also a regular listener and I appreciate your grounded perspective on the state of gaming today. Keep fighting the good fight against these insane commies! You're doing the right thing. There's no corner of life that they are not invading, so it is important to oppose them in the place where we each stand individually. Yours is a prominent place in the RPG world, and that makes your voice important for this corner of life which is under attack by this ubiquitous threat.
Keep the Meatball comin'.
Just imagine it as a fantasy world.
Dude, I may not agree with everything you say but I do think that Baptism of Fire is your best work and it's really damn good.
Thank you, spread the word!
Congratulations, man! That's awesome.
Thanks, spread the word!
Finally, a game set in a realistic modern-day Poland with all the grime, rampant disease and horrific bloodthirsty monsters intact.
jk, gosh dang. lol
If you get it, you get it. For real, though, game looks fun, and I'm glad it's doing well for you.
Spread the word, share the video!
Purchasing at some point but not just yet.
But will gladly pay for the premium P.o.D.
B.o.F is that good.
Are you sure you’re not being overly dramatic. I’m not seeing or hearing anything bad about you or your products. It’s been nothing but good.
I hope you are not creating click bait by claiming people are against you and your success. I think your success is awesome and speaks for itself. Your products are excellent.
So should i get it on Dtrpg vs Amazon, because you get a better cut from the former?
DTRPG gives Pundit a bigger chunk. Amazon gives Pundit and Mad Scribe a dry-ass dollar to share.
DTRPG provides a much better royalty; Amazon's is very tiny.
From what I heard on DD's inteview with Pundit and The Mad Scribe they get ~$5 if you buy it on DTRPG, vs ~$1 if you get it on Amazon.
So, yes. DTRPG all the way.
Purchased: good job :)
Thank you very much! Please give it a rating if you can.
I picked it up. Even if I don't end up running it, it will make for an interesting read.
If you play OSR games, I'm sure that you'll have a ton of stuff you can take out of Baptism of Fire and put into other games.
Your first game that's not only polished, but Polish...
Great stuff Pundit,
Just to let you know everyone for AI art, being in the video game dev for more then 26years, « copying » & « plagiarism » art has been done by the art departments of many video game studios. From the mid 90s PSX, N64, all the way to current day. Trust me on this, there is nothing new here; only the methods has changed.
That helmet looks like a barbute, which is anachronistic for the game. I don't care about that though. That covers awesome.
I think it's a german style helmet that's somewhat similar to a barbute. Though the eye openings aren't as large and it has a nose-guard.
Art made by a computer that can actually replace art made by a person should replace that person's art. Speaks more to the inadequacy of the person.
Correct. Also, I'm old enough to remember when digital art became a thing, and all the artists were whining that no-talent people were going to steal all their jobs and no traditional artist would be able to make a living.
I'd like to know more about that helmet. Does it have a name? Because it's rad.
I don't know the name, but from what I've seen it was one of many many different styles of german helmets
@@RPGPundit Blast. If you recall any references please tell me.
Brilliant it is out - I shall get it now! Screw the haters!
Thank you very much! I trust you will enjoy it.
@@RPGPundit Already enjoying it - fabulous stuff - the folk magic stuff is a treasure as are the monsters! Plenty for me to adapt. If it creates enough interest you could do a follow up module to cover later periods and bring in the Teutonic Knights.
James doesn't dislike you. You just have some differences of opinion.
when i can finally get my finances in order, i will be buying a copy
Thanks!
Big Chuck and Hoolihan would be proud to know that there is now an RPG of a, "certain ethnic background!"
Only a few people are going to get that. Mostly people from the Cleveland area...
23:16 You should do a new video that is just a simple overview of every TTRPG book you have ever worked on.
That would probably take hours if you count everything.
@@RPGPundit
Yes , but one could just say what each book covers & it would also be another documentation of how much you have done.
How many gamers do you have in South America that you are GMing for? Or do you run your games online? 😊
At this current moment my active player pool in Uruguay is 11 players in two campaigns (Baptism of Fire, and World of the Last Sun). I also have six players in my online game (Sword & Caravan).
Those accusations sound like the result of a long game of telephone. Who knows what they'll claim next time!
currently i am reading baptism of fire.... by andrej sapkovski.... great book. irrelevant but still.
It's incredible that I didn't know that one of the books was named that. I've never read or played Witcher, and only watched a couple of episodes of the tv show.
@@RPGPundit i watched some of season 1, it peaked my interrest. the books are plain fire. highly reccomended. even if you only read the "first" one, the last wish, wich is a collection of short stories. it manages to make a setting thats fantastic and scary, and easily read like the hobbit.
I thought you were a hipster, not a 1930s.
I'm quite sure I'm neither.
@@RPGPundit weird. I thought for sure you were an OG hipster.
I wouldn't say I was ever a hipster. Though I was certainly a weirdo.
Btw, how much are polish by heritage? Because kasimir urbanski sounds 99% polish.
Also, that cover looks dope as hell. Will dig into your book soon.
I will be doing my own polish history inspired material soon, very curious how did you write it.
I'm 50% Polish.
Bro weres my comments gone
I have no idea. I don't delete any comments, but sometimes CZcams deletes comments automatically if they have certain words in them, or if you post a link.
Can you explain why the difference of royalties between amazon and drive? I thought they both were 65% cut, beyond printing cost, and amazon includes free shipping. Importing from UK is very hostile nowadays. They're no longer part of the EU.
What I know is that to achieve a price that is an acceptable level, I only get about a $1 royalty per book from Amazon. It was almost enough for us not to have it at all, but the publisher prides himself on making it available at more than rpg specialty sites.
@@RPGPundit thank you for your answer. I thought amazon was the most efficient. Now I know better.
Funny that they judge you for your supposed politics when you judged Varg for the very same reason.
Going for the false caricature instead of the real thing.
These guys LOVE Varg, Jeffro, & Co, because they are the people who they can lump the entire hobby in with.
@@RPGPundit then don’t cry when other people act just like you, consistency.
Not a clue who “Jeffro” are btw.
The difference is that I'm telling the truth about Varg, and Jeffro. The wokists are just making up lies about me. Truth and lies matter, you know.
"They have a gigantic thread about me on reddit!" Breh it's like 60 comments that's barely even a thread.
Argues about separating art from artist, in video where they do nothing but talk about themselves.
No, I argue that people shouldn't try to pretend that good games are bad just because they don't like the designer. People saying they hate me, that's fine, they probably have all kinds of reasons to (jealousy, impotent mediocrity, etc), but trying to claim that my game is bad (or make up lies about me or the game) is where they are in the wrong.
you lost me at AI art.
