    Got a good laugh out of that opening line.
    I only wear Darn Tough socks now because they are GREAT socks and you can send them back when they wear out for a credit to buy a new pair (life time warranty) and I also have one pair of Cloudline that have the same lifetime warranty. I usually wear light cushion but I have one pair of thin socks. I USE to buy smartwool but it's been a long time now but I still have a few pair for other than running/hiking. They are a slightly looser fitting.

      Darn Tough is great! I don't remember if they made the cut in this video, but they do actually seem to hold up better than any sock in the toe area. Problem is they are a bit thicker than I prefer...for racing and warm long runs I still love the Balega Hidden-Dry Moisture Wicking the most.

    Got two pairs yesterday, one being the balega and the other the toe socks. I'll have to check out the other ones now! Thanks, Jane

    Great topic for a video! I'm a big fan of SLS3 socks. They are thin and form fitting and amazing at keeping my feet dry even on the hottest days! Thanks so much for the ideas for future purchases!

      Never heard of those Paul, so thanks for sharing! Will definitely have to grab a pair of those because you can't have too many pairs of running socks!

    Great video, love the environmentally friendly aspects of the Rockaway! I'll have to check those out.

      Not only that, but the Rockay actually recommends not washing them every time which I was super skeptical about...I guess they have some special coating...and they really don't smell!

    Yes Jane, I agree- thin running socks are the best! Enjoyed this presentation.

    Great video Jane! When I tell my non-running friends the price of my socks I use while running, they think I'm crazy 😁 watched all your clip with great appreciation and subscribed too! 👍

    "the thinner the better" for socks - probably for me too, LOL. I've been using the THICKEST merino wool hiking socks I could find from "Darn Tough" in Vermont , they are a bit "warm" in summer, so I'm glad to hear your review on "thinner" socks, If I can drop another 35 lbs. maybe I can "ease up" on the cushioning socks and shoes, LOL . Darn Tough has a "lifetime" guarantee for their socks too. Have an AWESOMENESS DAY Jane

      Haha, Ken!
      Yes, Darn Tough are good ones and I have a couple pairs. They are a little too thick to be my faves, but for someone who does prefer a little more cushion (or maybe they have good thin ones I don't know about) they're awesome! Also in full agreement that if you're going to do thick sock, merino wool is the way to go.

    I personally love ALL the scoops of peanut butter!!🥜😋
    Fun Fact: I have never had a blister and I definitely believe it has to do with wearing good socks. I love injinji’s and OS1st.
    Found you through DevRunner. Great interview! Any friend of Paul is a friend of mine.👍

      Thanks for watching the interview and joining here - I really appreciate it! Last time I bought peanut butter I accidentally got crunchy and that was a sad, sad day. 😂

    Excellent video, Jane!🤓 I'm in total agreement with you, choosing the right socks can sometimes make or break a run, especially the longer efforts. I have several pairs of Balega and have also tried out the Feetures, love them both. I don't know if I had heard of Rockay before, I will definitely look into those and try them out, I like that they are made of recycled materials. Thanks as always for your great content, I still have my fingers crossed for you about Boston!🤞Cheers from Canada, Scott

      Yes! Every time someone tells me they have blisters I ask them what kind of socks they're wearing. Rockay is really good! Just found out I am in for Boston along with everyone else who qualified. So excited and really appreciate the support!

    Thanks for the great guide. I can never decide on which ones to go for and don't want to splash a load of money on ones I might not get along with. The toe socks do look fun!

    Are there socks with extra cushion at the tongue of the shoe. I have NB More V4 and around the tongue area they stab into my ankle

    I remember my first trip to a running store. The associate was like, "cotton is rotten" 😂. Also I'd be curious to see what would happen if you put that "lifetime guarantee" to the test!

  • @TheMrsBeagle
    @TheMrsBeagle Před rokem +1

    I feel like I get bottom of foot blisters in my thinner socks on runs over 8-10 miles, and for sure hot spots on anything over 15 miles. They weren't running specific though, maybe that was it.

    • @runningwithjane
      @runningwithjane  Před rokem

      It makes a difference! But I'm sure some people do prefer thick socks, but I think for the most part, thinner is better.
