- This video is a celebration of the beauty of 2001: A Space Odyssey. The shots I chose are all random and were selected based on how the motion of the shot goes with the song at that moment.
Well, it's finally here. I've been working on this project for a long time now.
I probably had the idea around March but I knew if I did it it would require a lot of cuts and a lot of work and it just seemed too daunting. So I did about 10-20 seconds and just left it. Every time I tried to revisit it just seemed like too much to do so I just watched what little I had already put together and then didn't do anything else.
Starting in October I decided to really put work into it. I wrote down notes for segments of the song, and also cut the entire movie into each scene to make it easier to pull from (there were way too many shots to pull just from memory).
An issue I have with some of my older videos is that I try to tell a story with the footage and most of the time looking back I feel embarrassed. For this vid, I really just wanted to highlight how beautiful 2001 is so I aimed for better shots and motion of the shots matching to the song.
I am really proud of this video.
I don't really know if I put too many cuts in here but they match with the music so it can't be that bad. Definitely working on it for so long it's lost a little charm so I hope that viewers think it's better than how I see it after seeing it for 2 months. (I do still think it's good)
Also, I liked the dancing monkeys in the outro. They and Frank are vibing to breathe deeper
