the whole podcast bit has to be one of the most annoying ways to end a game ive ever experienced.
Idk man, have you seen the bad ending to The Witcher game?
FOR REAL, THEY DIDN'T EVEN MET EACH OTHER
@@user-vn1so5fo9b That isn't a ''bad'' ending, its a sad ending. They did it in a great way it's one of my favourite endings, but its sad. This one is just annoying
@@TheMrThe123 your right, but my problem with the Witcher game was there wasn’t a lot of closure. Unless they’re gonna make a sequel, the ending isn’t that great (the sad one) the only reason I didn’t say regular ending was I knew what happened to the dog. But yeah, I guess your right
@@TheMrThe123 unless I’m just really dumb and missed a lot of the story
That ending podcast was an absolute nightmare. Who told them it was a good idea to end it like that 😭
They should just scrap this idea or they just don't have enough money to make a cutscenes
I mean the voice actors did a great job with it so there's that atleast.
@@lividlife213 Oh yeah, the voice acting in the entire game was superb. Wish I could say that made up for the very annoying podcast though.
Yeah, such a good suspenseful game ended with a 20 minute podcast with credits 😐
@@raymond241 Agreed. I was recently watching a livestream playtrough, and at some point everyone was just waiting for the podcast to end 😅 (admittedly, the streamer was playing the entire night until 5am and everyone was tired, but still) I mean, they could've added something involving the characters being interviewed, or showing how their relationships may develop in the future, something like that.
The ending is so anticlimactic and unsatisfying all you get is the credits and a podcast in until dawn you have the characters being interviewed about what happened and it was unique for every playthrough this just feels so lazy and rushed
I agree with you, but atleast we didn't have to wait longer for the game to come out, although they definitely could've postponed the game and changed some stuff
@@alekay7913 I think that game + the next one of Dark ANthology.. Supermassive Game make a great job but don't really have time to polish it..
ok
would've liked to see the group together at the end of it talking about what happened, the podcast is cool and I'm assuming Ryan is the one who sent the stuff. but I just would like to see them talk about it
true
@Morioton when Jacob dies in a playthrough it still gets sent though
I had a playthrough with only Jacob and Max alive and it still gets sent. So it gets sent in regardless of who lives.
Whek ryan dies its send anyway
i think it was travis cause he wasnt of the the teens
Almost 200 hundred endings yet they can't do a cutscene of the surviving counselors meeting after the night? With some closure on abi/nick or dylan/kaitlyn and ryan? max and laura surviving after two nightmarish months? In my ending caleb survived like travis so I would've liked to see them both safe and reunited with the curse lifted. Very very disappointing after a great game
that's what I wanted as well, I wanted to see them meet up or getting interviewed just like in house of ashes & until dawn, I wanted to see Nick and Abigail get together too
@@alekay7913 yup all the dark pictures anthology games all have a end where the people talk about what happened

Travis: there's been an "incident" at Hackett's quarry and they're closed for the moment, I want to make sure you two have a place to stay because there's dangerous animals during this time of the month.
Laura: oh ok, gotcha.
In hindsight I think they still would've been kidnapped but probably not as long.
Silas: "Hey mom I understand it's good money but please stop putting me in a cage and showing me off to people every month. It's not a healthy mother son relationship."
Eliza: "Oh my, Silas. Of course. I'm sorry I hurt you, my boy."

To be quite honest, some of these characters were so obnoxious and lacked common sense that I wouldn't be surprised if they still went out and made a campfire.

Until dawn ending was better where we saw every survivor telling the whole ordeal to the sheriff. Devs could have done something similar to that, like them having a meet out and talking about things. This podcast thingy was so boring and it took away all my enthusiasm.
Until dawn remains on the top charts for me
It woulda been way better if we got an explanation for the Orgins of Silas if he was born like that or If he got cursed
House of ashes for me , but sure. For me house off ashes , the quarry and until dawn are definitely at the top
Then again too remember that Travis is a sheriff, he could've easily made it seem like it was them and not his family, kind of explains why all of them were sentenced but the Hackett family, I think what I hate the most is the amount of proof they had, I feel like that definitely should've altered the endings, if everyone lived but they had no proof then they'd be sentenced, if everyone lived but they did have proof they wouldn't have been sentenced, something like that would've added way more story to the game, I'm a bit disappointed by the ending too like it didn't even lead anywhere it was all just assumption
@@zeddiy8888 yea this would have been amazing
the quarry is far far far more better game than until dawn. story wise, until dawn is more clear but the quarry is such a big mystery that i think even the devs lost track on the details lol until dawn is one of those games where they say ur actions influence the story but it really isnt bcoz the choices also forced u to something that will lead u to the flow of their linear story, compared to the quarry which is about to be on the same level of detroit becomes human of butterfly effect game. the choices actually matters in later events. ex. the start of the game of emma and abi breaking in the cabin is actually a big deal at near the end lol
I feel bad for Silas, none of this is really his fault.. I get that Kaylee tried to save him but her brother got bit in the process I just feel so bad for him having to die even if it lifts the curse

After reading all these comments and watching 2 playthroughs and this, I do agree that this game seemed rushed. The character relationships you build in the start has no meaning near the end, it's like that idea/concept flew right out the window. Until Dawn will forever hold a piece of my heart. I wish there was a way to save the entire Hackett family and the councilors. The podcast was cool but they should've had all the survivors talk and discuss what they went through, right? I feel like that would've made the ending far more enjoyable for all the fans playing/watching this.
You can save Caleb and the mother.
This video title is misleading.
How are they gonna talk in prison?
That's because 2K got involved 😡
@@MAYOBEATBOX Clips of them in a Interrogation room
You see the problem with this game is that while there's so many variations that can happen, none of them really matter because there isn't any sort of satisfying ending no matter what you do.
There's the climax of the story, then just fade to black and show some title cards of who survived and who didn't? Seriously?
None of the relationships matter because none of them get paid off. Treat the characters however you want to treat them because it won't affect their ending, because there is none. Relationships are a big focus at the start of the game but when the actual plot starts to kick in, they get sidelined and never get resolved. No Abi interacting with Nick after he's cured, no Laura and Max after he's cured, no payoff to any of the other relationships. Just 'who survived and who didn't'?.
It's disappointing because they seemed to be setting up some really interesting relationship dynamics only to drop them or brush over them. For instance, it is a super cool concept to have events force Ryan, the only one who is really attached to Chris, be the one who has to take the responsibility of taking him out. That's cool, it's good writing. But then when it comes down to it and Ryan has to pull the trigger, there is no conflict. He just shoots and everyone moves on without any dwelling on it. What was the point of making Ryan do it then if it wasn't going to impact his character in the long run?
Not to even mention how half of the characters (Jacob, Emma, Abi, Max, Nick), generally spend the second half of the game doing jack all, chilling as a werewolf, stranded, or just wandering around the woods freaking out. You can free Jacob from the cage early but it makes no difference at all because if you do he doesn't contribute to the rest of the plot, he just wanders off and cries. What's the point?
I definitely think that they wrote the plot, which is compelling enough but did not really rely on the actual character of the actors (except for Laura, Travis and Ryan maybe), and then just shoehorned the starting section in to try and retroactively add some depth to the characters. But because they didn't pay any of it off it just falls flat.
yea I wanted at least that the relationships could have become full cirkle if everyone survived.
The only that matters is Travis with Laura other wise he shoots her
Some lets players i watched was so frustrated that some dialogue choices just didnt pave its own path
@@greigcueto9645 I mean at least in the Until Dawn ending you get to see them interviewed.
YES you said it best!! also what was with ryan and laura vs laura and max? why’d they force the romantic undertones instead of them just being friends, like she literally has a boyfriend dawg hua?
I got the perfect ending idea that should've been the official ending, not whatever this was. So, after the game ends, all remaining survivors you have will re-group at the front of the lodge as the sun is coming up, the remaining survivors will all hug and rejoice in seeing each other alive, and your relationship choices will matter here. Example being: If you decided to kiss Dylan at the party he and Ryan will flirt and they will have a moment. If you chose Kaitlyn they will do the same. Abigail and Nick will automatically get together no matter what since the game chose that for you. Max and Laura will be there and kiss or whatever and Emma and Jacob can be like "who tf are you guys". And Jacob could have grown and realized that Emma wasn't worth all of what they went through, She could be rude to him and he tells her off or something (depending on if you were rude or nice to her so many times) but he's glad she's still alive (if she is). They will all comment on a missing person if that person was killed and have a moment of silence or something. After all that, the cops come and arrest them, and as they drive off in the cop cars into the sunset a werewolf darts past, setting up a sequel or "it's not over yet" kinda thing. That's cheesy but it fits. We could also have some Until Dawn interrogation scenes where each character shows off their evidence, and if all evidence is found they are found innocent and we see the joy on their face, then roll credits and have the stupid podcast or something talking about it. But yeah that's the ending that I really wanted.
Also depending on your choices dont some characters like Emma literally take pictures of the werewolves? They could probably show that to the police.
@@ZainIsInPain yup, that could be in the interrogation scene where Emma shows off the picture
@@ZainIsInPain I'm honestly going to upload a video where I do a short review and talk about this ending (which should totally be added)
Fr, did they run out of budget or something coz the ending is just a slideshow and a podcast..
This ending would of been so much better and make the story go full circle
I still don't understand how in 6 years they have never managed to find him, whether in human or animal form.... especially if he loves to go and take refuge right in his cage lol
There is a lot of confused things in this game, I feel like the script could have been much more perfected but they didn't bet on the right screenwriter. Some reactions are weird, some characterizations too...
Script definitely could've had a bit more time put into it. It's not bad, it just feels... incomplete I guess. Like maybe the first or second revision after the rough draft. Not barebones and all the story beats are hit, but it's not necessarily the final, complete draft of it.
I don't know how big Supermassive is, but between this and all the dark pictures games it wouldn't be surprising if they were kinda stretched thin.
That is so very sad how he goes to his cage.
They explained that Silas has been gone and was only back for the 2 months of summer, they probably found his cage before he came back

@@yuritm8120 You can also just not cut Dylan's hand off, then he won't be in the lodge to get attacked and if Kaitlyn is infected by the end, Caleb will just leave her alone.
in my ending abi got decapitated by nick so she didnt leave the bunny toy and kaitlyn just locked herself in the freezer to die leaving dylan to get mauled by caleb
I wish there was secret joke ending where all the consoler had just done what Chris said and stayed in the lodge...
And that's it that's the whole game
RIGHT SAME. instead of all of this they stayed and bonded inside
I wish we could’ve seen the group together at the end, I would like to know how they would be doing now because I feel so empty
You know, I'm sure the creators of this and Until Dawn will collect data from the survivors of each player's games and make a game involving a crossover with them into making a specialized team of supernatural hunters. There's no other way anybody would be able to keep this a secret from the world. If one werewolf and wendigos can exist in this world then who knows what else is out there that needs to be hunted. Anyone that can survive this knows the truth and would make a good trained person to survive if disciplined correctly on this. It's either that or someone takes them outside and puts a bullet in their head. Or they spend the rest of their days in an insane asylum because no one will believe them.
That'd be sick
I agree!!!! A cross over with both teams would be so cool if they came together by some government organization that kept tabs on the survivors of both events seeking them out almost like an avengers type scenario and sending them on a mission to find out how to outsmart and hunt SKINWALKERS
Although now that I think about it the government organization would have to be like “you do what we say or we kill all of you like we should of a long time ago for all of the highly classified shit you’ve seen” cuz I highly doubt anyone from the two survivor groups would willingly put themselves in another situation with the supernatural again😂
i just love the ending cause u can literally kill everyone and see how they are brutally dead whit the sunlight and the happy music💀
“It’s just a prank, Anton” in the exact tone of Emily saying “It’s just a prank, Han”
Definitely a callback!
Idk why but that uplifting music just makes the ending of this worse
So there is no way you can save Chris and Caleb in the Best Ending.
No because if you don't kill Caleb Kaitlyn and Dylan could die and you need to kill Chris so that Max and Laura and whoever Chris bit are cured.
I think there's might be a way to save Caleb some how.
Caleb I'm not sure but either Ryan or Chris have to die.
Caleb will live if you chose to run instead of put him in the freezer but that will kill Dylan and Kaitlyn
If you want to save Chris and Caleb a bunch of the counselors will die
Insane that it took me ten straight minutes to realize the podcasters are Emily Axford and Brian Murphy from collegehumor and, more importantly, Dimension 20, seeing as I’ve watched over 8 seasons of them play D&D and couldn’t clock them for that long.

i literally forgot about that line lmao
The problem with that is once they turn into werewolves they have 100% zero morals or any concept of what they’re supposed to be doing. So every full moon they would just be going rampant and nobody would even be able to know that they’re trying to kill Silas. Because they have to kill him on the full moon remember. This game would've been a lot smoother story wise if it just focused on Laura, Max, Ryan and the family. Nearly all of the main cast we meet after the prologue are useless. They do nothing to advance the story or even have relationship arcs. The Hacket family is really well written, especially Travis.
Imagine: The prologue is the same, except they meet Ryan at the cabin. From here it could've been much smoother, but without the "romance" subplots and "totally not written by boomers" teen humor we wouldn't have a 5+ hour game I guess.

At least we as the viewer/player can paint out how the reunion goes. And at the end, the article changes to blaming unidentified animals, soaybe they were let free? And everyone lived happily ever after and Dylan got a cool hook.
The trained sheriff who’s been looking for his target for 6 years lets the teenage girl take the gun? 🤔
“Survived showdown with the white wolf” literally just walk up to him and shoot him in the back while he’s laying down. They truly got lazy at the end and that’s a damn shame. Glad I didn’t waste money on this game.
I mean they can die in a car crash when the wolf attacks the car and there's a very interesting scene where Laura can shoot it or not, it's really cool cause there's the red lighting of the car that flipped over, and also if you don't shoot they all die, can even shoot Travis
So it kinda is a showdown
WTF. Caleb froze to death. I like the other choice for him. Killing with silver bullet (or was it shot gun pelts?)
freezing to death in a defunct freezer within 2 hours or so lol, serves him right.
There's a third option. You can save him as long as you get Kaitlyn infected at the junkyard so he won't kill her.
Is there really no ending where we get to hear from the characters after everything is done? Just some annoying podcasters talking about it? These games are pretty much built on the character interaction and yet when you successfully save everybody (or as many people as you can) it essentially gives you nothing
that's how it works now, they don't make good games anymore, and people still pay
That physic lady set me tf up everytime i peeked into her crystal ball someone died 😂
If you’re considering the best ending to include saving as many Hacketts as possible then you could’ve saved Constance by failing the QTE that leads to her demise. You could also save Caleb by getting Kaitlyn infected in Chapter 9 and then failing a QTE where Dylan’s not around. On the contrary, if you consider the best ending to be killing all of the Hacketts, you could’ve killed Bobby and Jed by stabbing the prior and Travis by shooting him right before Silas.
Here after watching Berleezy and Brit playing 🤦♂️
I appreciate that the curse accommodates for modesty.
How did Silas become a werewolf in the first place?

It mentioned about being a curse. When you killed Silas every werewolf would be ''lifted from the curse'' if you have a look of the ending. So my assumption is that the mother Eliza put a curse on his son. As she is the only known person that has a connection to Silas and is a witch.
Seems like they just decided not to explain the supernatural source of the werewolf curse, or how the old woman became a ghost. Half-assed writing.

The family knew the curse and sacrificed many innocent lives keeping the curse going and causing more death Constance should’ve just killed Silas , Caleb or Chris from the start they are incredibly selfish and would put a bullet in anyones brain just to keep their fucked family circle the entire family isn’t bad but Constance and jebodiah the spear heads are
@@chalk7843 so what about emma that took a photo of one of those werewolves? i thought there will be a cutscene related to that in the end.
@@affadnazuaf unfortunately there's no extra cutscenes at the end, but if you wait till the end of the credits the news headline changes to say that the teens were let go
On my first play through I got six of the nine playable characters killed so I needed to see this for my own sanity and happiness😭😭
Just seeing nick alive makes this ending better. Especially for all that shit he just went thru
That ending song still feels so fitting yet out of place at the same time.
That controller disconnected was funny 🤣
This is not the true Ending. The true Ending is the ending which the hag pleased and thanked player for what he/she did. Both good and bad ending have not much different outcome from the hag, the player got cursed by her.
...that takes you to lose Ryan and Laura...
there is an ending where you can save caleb with caitlin, dylan infected and still kill the white wolf. So well most casual players only consider the easy "all 9 main characters survive" achievement to call it best ending, i don't.
@@emdeeee do you have a link to a video of this? I’d love to see how that ending differs
@@soufitron Ryan has to die but Laura can be alive.
@@soufitron you'll only have to lose ryan or travis
The ending left a pit in my stomach not gonna lie. We didn't get any closure with the alive characters meeting or giving any accounts at the end. One more thing I'd like to point out is that the "showdown" with Silas was anticlimactic as hell & I definitely think it could've been better. The podcast bit was nice but doesn't make up for the other parts.
both supermassive and quantic dream always drop such enjoyable playthroughs - but both developers need to start giving us more fulfilling endings and better choices. choice-wise, these games are improving all the time. but I'd like to see more real consequences for the relationship systems that they've been implementing and change in gameplay.
They also should've had more happen with the relationships of each character
bro i had a perfect ending lined up but my dumbasss felt bad for silas and i didnt shoot.....
@gaga all counselors alive. When i originally commented i didn’t know you could also save the whole Hackett family as well.
One huge fail in any movie or game is no proper epilogue. I think this game was in desperate need of a proper epilogue. The podcast -- while extremely fun and original -- just doesn't feel like it's enough to wrap it all up. We needed more time with the survivors after the night. A few more dialogue options. Maybe Jacob confessing etc.
Weird, I was pissed off by the podcast because it just wasted my time listening to unfunny people and added nothing to the supernatural story.
@@CampaignerSC I was annoyed the first time I finished the game too, because it didn't go the way I wanted at all. It all went wrong when I failed to free Jacob from the cage. I still don't understand why I needed to pull those breakers in a particular order, even after looking it up. After that I had no fucking clue who was who so I failed to shoot any of the werewolves and lost two counsilers right there. And then at the end I failed to shoot Caleb because the game kept hammering about the shotgun spread so I waited until Caleb charged closer, but the game decided I was dead while he was still a few feet away. Translation: in basically the last hour of the game, I had lost 4 counsilers and had a shit ending while everything before the clusterfuck went perfectly well lol..
ending i made for myself: dylan, caitlyn, abi, jacob, ryan, and all the other people that survived are all happy and cured and they are all hanging out in a house all meet up. they have a pool party and everyone explains there side of the story and laugh about it. they all play around in the pool laughing and talking about everything, they live in peace and reunite with there family and offi get there jobs and they all meet the new friends they have made. they take a toast and eventually they all have healed and became best friends forever in the ending.
The whole concept of these game is: No matter how big the problem is, just don't give up and face the problem unitedly, and the last song 7:26 is worth appreciating.
for real the song is so good
Yes you are right, tho i am sad for some innocent lifes that were sacrificed during the night, and the last music makes me so much sad.
It's actually weird when they play this music but everyone is dead. 💀
Having Caleb die too was strange since you think they would have went back to the freezer in the morning to let whoever was in there out, I mean it could have been Nick for all they knew. Also how did Chris get his head back?
Wouldn’t really call this much of an ending. I mean what the hell was that? It just all the sudden stops, and you don’t get any sort of conclusion other the slideshow? How do you mess that up?
I swear this is the dream...How many times did yall play this to get this ending...
Does anyone know the name of the song that's playing when it's showing everyone that lived or died?
"young in love and free"
I feel like they were trying to make it different from Until Dawn but it’s too much like the Dark Anthology. The only way it was really like Until Dawn is that there’s a bunch of teens, a perceived threat of some humans, and a twist to a monster that everyone knows. Some of the story/dialogue/actions didn’t make much sense. And also I feel like everyone was wayyyy too nonchalant about the situation. Like there was little to no urgency in anything they did. IMO it could have been a little better. But the character models are amazing and I think they had a pretty good cast of people. Lol these are just my thoughts.
Out of the games so far house of ashes has been my favourite so far. Until dawn and the quarry great games but I felt more suspense with house of ashes since it was in an old temple and you had to fight for your life. The quarry I felt mainly sorry for alot of the characters since the monster this time was werewolves. Which it was either kill them or wait till time runs out and dawn comes.
Wait so if abi doesn’t get the rabbit toy in chapter 1 do Dylan and Kaitlyn die in that scene or is there some way u can make them survive without the toy??
Kaitlyn can kill Caleb with a silver shell provided by Abi. Which is probably the better option than poor Caleb freezing to death
@@diegopansini3152 oh okay ty
Wait what? I didn’t take that creepy toy. What happens if you do?
@@aakrueger oh basically if u do take the toy u can use it to lock wolf caleb in the freezer to save kaitlyn and Dylan but if u didn’t then you’ll have to use the silver shells abigail gives u to kill wolf caleb instead
@@jiohya Ohhh. I didn’t take the toy. And with Kait I chose to run instead of freezer like an idiot. And they both died. Cool how such a small decision makes a difference like that.
I was just getting into the whole video, and when the controller lost connection, I absolutely lost it laughing. GG
Ariana grande voice opening up this game is legendary
the podcast ending thoroughly made me suicidal. i wouldve waited months longer and paid more for this game if the ending wasn’t like this
whoever chose the soundtrack for this game needs to go sit in the corner for a while
You would figure that since you helped travis he would lie to the other cops and cover your asses
The Ending's quality is decreasing this Games values.
Kaylee: you know what how about we not let the werewolf boy out the cage to infect us all
Chris: yeah sounds good
Caleb: alright
*Roll Credits*
Dylan has the best alive montage scene.
“Everyone lives” *meanwhile the entire Hackett family is just dead*
You can save most of them. Only Chris and his daughter have to die.
IMAGINE NOT SHOOTING SILAS AFTER THE GAME GIVES YOU TWO CHANCES. LULE
Look, I love the game. The script is good, the company hit GOLD with Until Dawn... But some of the awkward pauses and lack of reaction from characters during high intensity moments really takes you out of the experience. The podcast at the end could've been a nice touch, but it was drawn out wayyy too long to the point it gave me cringe and I didn't want to sit through it. If it could've ended in a way that all characters were together in the end, I think it would've flowed a little better and led to a more satisfying conclusion. Like, if Abby died at Nick's hands, seeing his grief and guilt. Or if any of them died, they group's reaction. Jacob's guilt and confession that this was all his fault. But yeah, it had a good plot. Just needed some serious smoothing out and making it flow better.
To be honest, i really like the last background music of the game when the game was showing who was died and survived that massecar.
Grace and Anton are Ryan and Shane but their personalities switched and I love it!!!
I loved this game! Really awesome and I will play it again! :D I will also revisit Until Dawn for nostalgia after this :)
So basically no one has to die but Silas is what I’m getting
Yes, you kill Silas and the curse ends
And Kaylee, poor Kaylee, she's doomed by canon, unfortunately, there's no possible way to save her.
@@Diamond1234 and Chris to save the rest of the haccets , Laura and Ryan
Damn, they make this seem like a pyrrhic victory.
how did you get a diffrnt song at end when they sa who survied i got a monkees song daydream
finally someone who gets it right
Not really.
He didn't save Caleb or he Hacketts mom.
Until Dawn's everyone lives ending is better in my opinion, it feels more eerie, realistic and genuinely bittersweet, everyone is alive but it's very clear that their violent fight for survival against the Wendigos and Josh's wrathful actions has left them emotionally crippled and traumatized for life and nobody will ever believe them about the Wendigos and Josh, they will be all be seen as either crazy or delusional or both. The Quarry's everyone lives ending feels unrealistic because the camp counselors do not seem traumatized by their fight for survival with the werewolves and will most likely continue on with their lives like if nothing ever happened and the police might believe them about the Hacketts and Silas
So Nick is alive in my playthrough but he didn't show up at the end? like? what?
I like how Silas is the only one that says "DEAD" instead of "DECEASED"
