I like how when Dylan kisses Ryan, Kaitlyn doesn't seem disappointed, but encourages it, but when Kaitlyn kisses Ryan, you get that disappointed message from Dylan

Honestly given Ryan doesn't actually have any scenes alone with Kaitlyn whereas he had LOADS with Dylan, I'm pretty sure the developers only added in Kaitlyn as an option so they didn't get the gamer fanboys bitching that they were "forced to be gay". All my love and respect to Kaitlyn but it feels last minute to me.
The way I see it Kaitlyn and Dylan both have a crush on Ryan but Dylan's feelings are deeper whereas Kaitlyn's is just a summer crush. I h8 that the game ended w a slideshow and a podcast, atleast they should have shown us Ryan getting back to Dylan alive and they could either kiss or hug or something, otherwise building relationships in this game feels pointless. And Ryan and Laura are pointless coz she's in this shit to save her boyfriend, why are they making googly eyes at each other 😭😭

Yes! Dylan and Ryan had sooo much chemistry, it was disappointing to not get any sort of closure at the end, especially with these two. And I feel the same way you do about the Ryan and Kaitlyn relationship about the Ryan and Laura dynamic. It definitely felt forced and a bit odd since Laura literally was risking her life to save her boyfriend yet still flirting with someone else. I love all of the characters so much but especially Dylan and Ryan lol. Easily one of the most memorable and fun sci-fi horror games I’ve played in a while.
the whole Laura and Ryan crap kinda made me mad because as far as I know Laura is still trying to save Max, who is still alive and in a relationship with, so why the hell would she be flirting with Ryan?
I mean, he is the only one who actively went out of his way to save people
like either warning Kaitlyn to get the fuck away from him when he got bit, or when wolf!Emma attacked he pushed her out of the way.
And then he had the idea of the feedback loop. Got his hand chopped off, still manage to keep his mind and play the loop. The whole scrapyard scene. And the fact he has a CAT and wants to do a major in Quantum Physics. And he is gay.
Like thnx, for the first time we have a gay character who is not just gay but so much more and THE best character in the whole game.
I love his relation with Kaitlyn in the end, Besties.
ps. He can do so much better than Ryan, who told Laura that he is close to neither one after we had all the scenarios.
My thoughts exactly! The more I learned about him through different playthroughs and options the more I fell in love with his character. He is definitely the one we learn the most about and I thought it was so cool how much character exploration and development he got while also being casually but clearly queer. Unfortunately It's just not something you see very often and I loved it a lot. ❤️❤️ Oh god and the cat! Honestly that sealed the deal for me, I love cats and men with cats. And yes, he definitely deserves better than Ryan.

I mean it also depends on what choices you make, there was also a time there when Ryan said he was kinda closer to Dylan after that kiss n whatever. I do agree though, I think he still deserves better than Ryan. Words cannot do justice to fully explain how much I am in literal love with his character. His comedic timing is unmatched. Though on the surface level, we see a witty comedian that doesn’t take anything seriously, he’s one of the only characters who came up with theories to help him make sense of out the situation while also being grounded to reality; such as realizing that Nick needed his leg amputated to stop the infection, or the werewolves/hunters tracking the scent of their blood. Plus, his amazing idea with the feedback loop at the radio hut.
He’s also so considerate of people’s feelings, especially Ryan. Whenever he’s joking and realizes that Ryan didn’t interpret his intentions correctly, he immediately apologizes and clarifies for him. (e.g. If you choose the “dismissive” option in Chapter 2 when they’re in Mr. H’s office, he’ll apologize for mocking Ryan’s podcasts. Also, if you choose the “annoyed” option as Jacob in Chapter 1 after Dylan teases him over his break up with Emma, he’ll apologize.)
He and Kaitlyn are so mature. They both have a crush/romantic interest in Ryan but don’t find a need to feel animosity or jealous towards one another, and find comfort in their jokes about Laura and Ryan. They’re great friends and have amazing chemistry! The fact that Kaitlyn also roots for Dylan and Ryan is amazing, too. (She nudges for Dylan to shoot his shot next year in Chapter 9 when they’re on their way to the scrapyard, and cheers them on after they kiss in Chapter 2 during Truth or Dare.) Not only that but he used the last seconds of the human consciousness he had left before turning into a werewolf to save Kaitlyn’s life.
In conclusion, Dylan is so lovable, awkward, funny, smart, caring and an unexpectedly total badass in survival situations. There’s nothing to not love about him. He has the most depth and life and character progression more than anyone in the game.
1000% this. I love what you said about him apologizing immediately after realizing he might've hurt someone's feelings. Yeah he tells a lot of dumb jokes and has a childish sense of humor sometimes which, same, but he's never intentionally mean to people and when he goes a little too far, he recognizes that right away, apologizes and pulls back. He is one of the best and most well rounded characters I've seen in a game by far, which is especially hard to do when you have so many lead characters.

To be honest, Dylan is the only male character that I like in this game and I’m not saying this because he is gay like me. I genuinely like his character because he actually FEELS human. The other guys feel generic or just bland, but Dylan has more character to him.
I especially liked how he was the only character who transformed into a werewolf that went out of his way to warn his would-be victim, i.e. Kaitlyn. The fact that he told her to get away from him while he transformed shows that he is pretty compassionate, probably more than the other characters.
I absolutely love his relationship with Kaitlyn too. Even placed in the situation that they are in, they maintain their humor around each other and actually look out for each other. Plus, Kaitlyn actually roots for Dylan and Ryan and doesn’t get all jealous.
In short, Dylan is the best.
EXCACTLY. As a character writer/designer, i am absolutely inlove with him, not only for his realistic and developed writting full of pros and cons into his character but also the development of his throughout the whole game. He is so caring and brave, he is very protective and smart. He is awkward and unfunny sometimes which makes him ALOT more human. He is insecure and a people pleaser which he is able to understand. And ill say this again, he is a very well written gay character who doesnt feed of the stereotypes like "all gay men are soft uwu bottoms" or that "being different" is his only character trope.. It is amazing how well written he is and i ADORE him. Hands down, case closed, all facts my favourite game character, both from a designer and a consumer perspective
Agree so much. He feels like the only fleshed out character. He protects his friends and him crushing on Ryan is so sweet. Actively routing for them, the only couple I liked in the game. The rest were forced together or boring.

there's so much to like about his character too! I thought he was going to be just the kinda annoying, immature comedic relief at first but he is so much more?? I do feel like that's partly because some of the other characters simply didn't get the opportunity for more character development, but dang. dylan surprised me with not only how smart and quick-witted he is, but also his selflessness (he and Kaitlyn made such a good duo, I love them sm). he's a nerd who flirts awkwardly and makes dumb boner jokes and is so so caring of his friends

dylan is a really lovable character overall but what really sold him for me was his lack of hesitation to amputate his hand when he got bit, huge respect to him for that haha
same honestly. he was awesome in that scene. I appreciated it even more after a rewatch when I noticed how quick he was to suggest amputation for Nick as well, it really informed where his head was at while all this was going on. I might be reading too much into it but I just cant help but think he's had experience with life threatening infections and amputations before.

All actors did an amazing work. Hard to imagine how hard it is to be on like a stage, but with nothing around you, in special uniform, and cameras all around our body.
However, have to mark Miles Robbins, since he had the most time in the game and grew a lot as a character throughout it (from a pretty annoying asshole to a hero, who saved Kaitlyn many times, especially at the time when they were near the car, opened up the door and werewolf Emma attacked them. Dylan just pushed Kaitlyn and made himself be attacked, bitten again or even killed. Or in other scenario when the player didn’t cut his hand off, at that scene near the car, after he saves Kaitlyn and gets attacked by werewolf Emma, it doesn’t kill him since he’s a werewolf, Dylan understands it and after werewolf sees Kaitlyn and tries to attack her, Dylan stands in front of her and covers Kaitlyn with his own body. Or when Dylan was turning into a werewolf, he was worried about Kaitlyn and trough a lot of pain told her to run away from him, leave him alone and save herself. He was worried about her life, not his, that was surely one of the hardest scenes.).
In addition, man, the way Miles acted at the scene of getting attacked at the radio station and cutting his hand off or at the scene of him turning into a werewolf, when by the way he conveys the unbearable pain to the player (I even noticed the shaking of the leg cause when I have some super bad pain that I can’t bare, my leg shakes just the same way), no questions he is a professional actor and knows what he’s doing.
0:45 the facial animation combined with the line delivery makes this my fav piece of dialogue in the game

He's the combination genre-savy, best developed, and genuinely great chemistry with everyone. Plus, potential dual representation: gay and likely a future amputee. I love him to pieces.

To be honest Dylan is my fav, and i think he was bad ass, when he got bit and he said cut it off without hesitation, and took it like a champ like most people would have passed out but he just got down to put in work. Plus Dylan is funny as hell.

Not enough people talking about 5:52. Best physical comedy out of supermassive games yet! Literally went from intense mode to crying in my chair mode instantly
