    How in the name of Maple Syrup did that old Humber survive all these years? The mice didn't get it, the salt didn't get it, hell just being old and British didn't get it. There it sits, happy as a frog on a lilypad, ready to go to work. Nice job on the tree today, Bill. Cheers.

    ill be honest i love the videos you make and the care you take when cutting most people dont understand one thing about trees most times the big ones arent the dangerous ones because you have room for good heavy hinge and wedges and all but the small ones are killers most that die in the woods are more often because small trees they dont take them as a big threat because its just a small tree and they make sloppy cuts and boom they have a tree on their head small trees are more dangerous

    Your video about cutting a leaning tree was a huge help for me. I never thought about cutting the top wood on the back cut 1st to get it to lean into itself like you do. I was always fighting it and now I have used your technique on a bunch of trees and it works amazing.

    Not a feller by trade . But talk about a punky tree that would make me nervous . In general what i have learned is ( FELLING CUT ) In general i would use a under cut 9 out out of 10 times , over cut only if i have to. Over cut may not sit over the way you want it to , i have had that happen to many times Good video.

  • @stephenreiner1523
    @stephenreiner1523 Před 5 měsíci +1

    There's no situation that's exactly alike, so every tree that you fell is another experience. Like you said take your time, look up, look around, listen you know what to is essentially going to happen, but sometimes one inconceivable minor detail can change the sequence of things and that's where you make decisions about your situation fast.

    Question: Why not make your face cut, bore cut (horizontal) towards the back of the tree at the center of your hinge, pop a wedge in from behind, then cut both sides away from the wedge (cut to the side of the wedge) leaving the remaining hinge? You pound the wedge in as necessary and the back of the tree is never unsupported. And once you've cut the to the wedge, you can double up on wedges on either side of the first wedge. Does that make sense??
