    8:20 The rubber piece plugged into the bottom of the generator just to the right of your right hand is for taking off and plugging into the oil filler hole to make less of a mess, while draining the oil.

      Just bought a second hand one having idle issues going to have to pull the caby off and clean looks quite simple tbh. yep that oil drain plug in the bottom is quite a effort to put back in place TBH anyway all good happy so far

    The filter material you purchased appears to be the type made for window air conditioners. It is intended for minimal pressure drop with high flow, not reasonable filtering. It's good at blocking lint and cobwebs from clogging the AC evaporator, not filtering out dust.
    You would be better off buying whichever foam small engine air filter is inexpensive in your area and cutting that down. Engine filter foam is intended be cleaned and re-oiled. It's the oil that catches and holds the dust, not the filter media.
