- From the makers of The Last Comer, Mystical Power Plant is one of the newest products in the fully-fledged Touhou fangame department.
The system seems to be revolving around picking up the leaf items. If you pick up a certain amount they will give you a level with a skill attributed to it. Level 1 will always give you the POC in addition to the skill it gives. If you increase the level above max it will go back to zero and the game will give you a life and bomb fragment.
So far as I know the skills for Reimu!B are:
Avoidance - Makes your hitbox smaller.
Spirit Recovery - Increases the Invulnerability after using a bomb or dying.
Reflexes - Increases your deathbomb window.
Other characters have different skills.
The scoring system seems to involve chaining by damaging enemies. Doing so raises the multiplier in the bottom right to a maximum of x999. At that point all cancelled bullets will be turned into point items.
Reimu!B is a very nice shottype. In addition to good long distance damage, Utsuho's shotgun is extremely powerful and their bombs are pretty decent too.
So yeah as you can see in the last part, the normal game is the omote loop and there's a harder Ura loop.

At 36:15, a head appears in the ending : It's the severed head of Kikyou Kabutozukamori, a character based off of Masakado. Kikyou was officially introduced in IBP 7 years after this game was released.

"...the story centers around a giant tree that Kanako Yasaka has brought to the Youkai Mountain from the outside world. The main theme of the story is Sugawara no Michizane, a famous scholar and poet who came to be revered as a god after his death."

I would just like to point out that it seems to be far more favorable point- wise to bombspam the final spell than to capture it.

The only difference I could see between this and something zun would make is the fact that this has good character art

brian valencia The real question is have YOU seen his art. A lot of the fans make the awesome pictures you usually see. ZUN's is the absolutely "terrible" pictures. Although I think that ZUN decent art skills.

EDIT: So I inspected the video at 0.25 speed, and I swear it looks like the Spellcard gets captured with 00.01 left on the timer.
Alright, somebody throw me a bone here: What is the plot? I don't speak Japanese and the closest I can think of is Reimu going up to Utsuho and saying "Hey, you recently tried to burn the entire surface world to recreate hell, helped build a robot in secret, and are extremely unstable in terms of power. Wanna go climb this random tree that has machines on it?" And while it wouldn't surprise me... something tells me there is more.
For me, she makes me think of Muse from the Seihou series. Probably just because their weapons are a bit similair and they both teleport alot.

Okay. I'VE FIXXED THE PROBLEM WITH THE CHARACTER SELECT SCREEN.
BUT, if you even get past the select and get to the loading screen, it'll throw another error at you that I don't know how to fix.
To put it all short, we're screwed. And only Jaimers can tell us how to fix it. ;-;

every time i try to open MPP it either:
-starts out with a white screen
-gets "cannot file open path[C:/Users/Mikeytron1600/Downloads/Mystical power plant/script/default_system/Default_System.txt]"
-opens, but crashes after selecting the difficulty
ill explain how i get these
-it starts with a white screen if i download from the dropbox link
-i get the "cannot open file path" error when i download the link from mediafire
-it crashes at the difficulty but opens if i update the danmakufu to the latest version
does anyone know how to help with this?
if you are using windows 10, my friend did show me a solution to danmakufu crashes.
Being the case, a good way to fix the crashes is to install the Japanese language pack (you dont need to set it so your system is in Japanese, just have the language pack installed), when it is installed your computer will be able to know the code and dialogue ingame.
The stage 3 boss... what is that flashing image in all of her spell cards? I can't make it out. I feel like it would be similar to the flashing red eyes that appear in Reisen's spell cards... but I can't tell what it is, and what its supposed to do.

Its a FANGAME. That means you have to download it and play it like the touhougames of the original series

I'm dying to play this game, but it doesn't work for me... I download everything, and Danmakufu never works, it'll either say it's missing defaut_system, or if it's there, it just opens and closes right away ;-;

I've been trying for about a week to get this game to run on my laptop. I'm pretty darn sure the issue lies in the unzip process as I'm getting junk characters every time I try to unzip it. Thing is, I have tried literally every method I could find to get it working, right down to changing my laptop to be 100% Japanese and still just get junk.
Anyone know anything that might help out?

So does anyone have any advice on how to make this thing run? I have it downloaded and opened with applocale. The game runs and lets me go though the menu, but when I select a character it crashes and tells me I have an error. I don't know what to do... I want to play this so badly.
Which one would that be on the list? My computer only lists the characters as squares. So I can't make it out...
Well do I need to run MPP with danmakufu or does it come downloaded with it like it does for RSS? And it's not that I can't tell which character is which. My computer only displays them as squares. Haha. Not as actual Japanese characters.
