You should never use Canva to make resumes UNLESS you are 100% CERTAIN that a human will be looking at your resume first. the reason i say this is that Canva has a weird formatting that Recruitment software like ATS cannot pick up. This means that when your Resume is scanned by a software they are not picking up your work experience, your skills, and in some cases, even your NAME. That's how you go straight into the garbage pile and never even end up in the hands of a recruiter. SO PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF THIS!

noted - There's another video on my channel where I talk about what makes a good cv and different elements to include and pay attention to. I can also consider making a video to show detailed steps in canva and do an example for a later video.

Thank you for useful tips. If i understood correctly you are from Turkey. Your english is perfect. Could you share your tips how to lern english and speak fluently on it. I am not native english speakers and i'm enjoying listening to you.

    •  Před 5 lety +3

Hi Elena, thank you for your comment! I've studied in English since a very young age and have lived abroad for many years too. But my recommendation to improve your English would be to listen and read every material you consume in English and practice with native speakers. I find TV shows with English subtitles very helpful. Also, don't be afraid to just go ahead and speak even when you don't feel comfortable!

    Hi,
I wanted to ask what do you present for a job interview when a prospective employer asks for a digital marketing portfolio? Some people do specify a PowerPoint presentation but I want to know what information should be included in it? What's the best way to present it screen shots of pages or what?

    •  Před 4 lety +1

Images, hyperlinks, testimonials, download links to the files (if u want to share the full thing), short descriptions of the projects you’ve done. It can be a ppt deck or a web page too.

Hello, thank you for the video. It's very useful.
I would like to ask, to apply for marketing positions, what can I put as my portfolio to show what I have really done?
I did a lot of company cases analysis and presentations while studying, but they were group works, can I put them on?
I'm also working as SEO intern, what can I present in my portfolio? instead of pure descriptions on CV?

    •  Před 5 lety

Best practice for CVs is always to keep them short. Try to fit everything in one page. If those details fit, then add them. If not, try to be really smart with the text you add to explain your experiences. Focus on the outcome and successes of those projects instead of just saying 'I did X case study, Y project'. The reader won't know the importance of those details.
