Patrice Evra is a one of a kind. He has suffered more hardships, and has overcome more challenges to get where he is, than probably any other guest I’ve ever had on the show. And yet, Patrice has managed to overcome them all to lead an incredible life. If Patrice can overcome his background and experiences, you can overcome yours.

In Central America and the Spanish Speaking Caribbean you DO NOT say ('n#gro) it unless you mean to insult someone. However, in South America, it's not so much offensive unless you add negative adjectives to it. Nevertheless, DO NOT say 'Negrita' as it literally means 'little n*gg#r.' Regardless of which country or culture in Latin America you DO NOT call an adult of visible African descent 'negrita(o)' unless you want a confrontation.

Luis Suarez is was one of the greatest players to ever play the game, that cannot be argued, he could be in the GOAT conversation if not for Messi/Ronaldo. That being said, it's disgusting to me how much he got away with during his career. There were other incidents of racist/xenophobic comments and unsportsmanlike behaviour. But in this instance alone, he even got support from Liverpool fans! And all that because Pat chose to be the bigger man... Imagine if he attacked Suarez or stormed out, he would've gotten much more sympathy, there'd be people kneeling down every game and FIFA making more bs commercials, but Pat thought about his teammates and the fans first, dealt with it like a real man and instead he got even more abuse... After all this, he didn't go after the referee, fans or even Suarez. My respect for Patrice Evra has gone up massively after this interview. Both haters and virtue signalers could learn how to be a genuine human from this man. God bless.

In this case it is totally unacceptable imo because they are on opposite sides of a fierce rivalry and the insult was clearly meant to get under his skin. It would have not been an issue if Suárez would have called him a cabrón for example as the insult is not specifically mentioning his race, we all should know how much black people have had to suffer historically. The word itself can be used as a form of affection in South America but as with most words, it's about context. "I don't speak with blacks" is not a term of affection, it's a racist remark. Pure and simple.
Now, you can argue it was in the heat of the moment and it was a one off, everyone says things they don't mean when the adrenaline is pumping in which case you be a man. You apologise, accept the punishment and move on. But what Dalglish and Liverpool did afterwards was disgraceful. Liverpool themselves and a few of the players have since apologised, I don't know if Dalglish did (though I doubt it) but at the time they needlessly inflamed the situation. Then there's Suarez himself. Evra put his hand out and Suarez refused to take it, as if Suarez was the victim. He wasn't. He was the perpetrator.
As good as Suarez is as a player, he's also acted like a scumbag more than once. While I understand fans trying to defend their players, some things are indefensible.

Taking the piss with racist comments and i just thought they were immature and not funny we were only 11/9 years old. me and my sister went mad and all time they would do it to wind me and my sister up knowing it bothered us. Both our best mates were muslims and we grew up together and ended up living next door to us. He is exactly right on how to tackle racism. No one is born a racist we our only a product of our enviroment and the only way to understand is be willing to not be a sheep and think for yourself. Unfortunately there is still a small percentage of people who are racist. They are normally the sheep watching commercial tv and dumb as fuck. Evra is a legend and I love his views as they are exactly what I think. I also wish everyone could live a basic life with all the essentials i think its an absolute disgrace thay people are still dieing of hunger and living conditions. How can we not solve these issues still we are failing as humans. One last thing I hate people who go its our country go back to where you came from. You were just lucky to be born with the foundations laid out for you its no ones land and i hate that mentality. Im born in UK and if we can offer a better life to someone who trying to do the best for there kids i hope we can help. Yes there isnt limitless spaces. But we can solve alot if we tackle what is the problems in the countries they are coming from and other countries help with solving the issues.

    Solution:
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. 37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. 39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
James 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: 9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 19 We love him, because he first loved us. 20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
John 3:16 ¶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Acts 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; 26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: 28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Not a Man u fan, not a Liverpool fan. Evra still going on about this and lying in the process. Go watch the handshake video, Evra clearly keeps his hand by his side and then raises it after Suarez has passed to try give the impression he was willing to shake hands. So apparently Evra admits he said your mothers c*** to Suarez, typical football Derby behaviour, trying to provoke a reaction, Suarez responds with his own remark, should he have hit Evra for talking about his mother instead, the response from Suarez tells that Evras attempt to wind him up failed and he had a more hurtful comeback instead. Suarez was well known for his volatile temperament and the United players would likely have been instructed to prey on it, it comes with the territory of a Liverpool United Derby, not that long ago we were hearing fans singing songs celebrating the tragedies of football clubs such as the death of players and fans in Munich and Hillsborough. All of this is blown out of proportion. Before VAR these players would lie and cheat to win a throw in, nevermind a game. It's called win at all costs for a reason. If you can't take it then don't give it and don't cry foul when you're own attempts to upset someone fails. Evra is a terrible pundit but he is dying to be recognised as one, he'll fall back on this whenever he can to get a sympathy vote and airtime.

Evra never play soccer in South America, there, sometimes the fans drop you urine with the plastic cups if you are the goalie or close to the fence, receiving a bad word is almost like a compliment for south american players, in europe they are delicate girls insted of soccer players, two diferent cultures.
Later in one occasion after that incident, he did not shake Suarez hand in greetings before a game and accused Suarez of being the one who did not want to greet, that was mean.
And in the end of a game he was shaking his arms celebrating in front of Suarez almost hitting him to provoke him and at the same time incite the entire stadium, very bad attitude.

I'm from Latin America. What u guys have to understand it's the history of our territories and the process of colonization. That implied the extermination, genocide of native and bringing of slaves from the African diaspora. That happens not so long time ago. Due to the specific circumstances of that process in Argentina and Uruguay those countries are considered to have the racisms intrinsic in their culture. That is why you will find people from those countries justifying it because "that's how they are in their country" and "that's how they speak in their country" which does not exempt them from their responsibility and ignorance. You can be racist even if you don't know it or don't want to.

Negrito is not a derogatory word in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile all the countries south of South America use this word like “dude” you call white people negrito I’ve seen a store attendant call an Asian tourist negrito. Patrice doesn’t understand the cultural complexities of the word.
Negrito is NOT THE N word. I repeat it is not the N word. Patrice repeating this narrative nearly 10 years later is sickening that he has never taken the time to learn this.
