Ritchie's Story

  • I was honored to have a chance to talk to Richie, aka @TullipR on Twitter. His story illustrates the importance of exploring underlying issues rather than accepting a vulnerable person's claim they are transgender. I am deeply grateful for his willingness to tell his story and fight against the transgender ideology.
    Though I often say, "no child is born in the wrong body," Richie is a reminder that no person is born in the wrong body. Adults with serious underlying issues need appropriate mental health services, not to be told that the only way they can survive is to damage themselves by trying to become someone else.

    Sent this to my son. We agree not to discuss it, to.preserve our relationship, but I said I will agree not to discuss it but I reserve the right to send any medical research or any detransitioners . I also email my GP who referred my son so he can’t pretend he did not know.

      Your recent interview with Erin is excellent, nuanced and the best version of "kind" I've heard. Best to you from Ute Heggen. I hope your son is not on Finasteride, very, very dangerous drug. (given for preventing male pattern baldness, lawsuits already)

    Challenging medical professionals is not easy at the best of times so I can't imagine having the psychological strength to do that after being traumatised in this way. Well done to Ritchie for standing up for himself and well done Erin for posting such an important interview. I wish Ritchie all the best in his recovery and I hope he wins his case.

    My sons father (ex husband) at age 38 or so decided he's trans. Before this he had alter egos and never wanted to be called by his birth name. Changed his name several times. My son and his dad have been around eachother nearly every day of his life. He's 13. I asked him the other dad what his father's name is. My son stayed silent for several seconds and just said "I don't know". He's changed so many times my son doesn't even know his name.

    We should be able to trust the people who are supposed to help us in their capacity as experts. Richie was failed on so many levels, he is not responsible for that negligence. Clinicians of all people should recognize when a patient is struggling to make healthy choices and intervene in a way that promotes their best interests. Doctors don’t let their patients write their own prescriptions but a gender identity clinic will give you whatever you want. This is the tip of the iceberg.

    It's always so upsetting to hear about other young, same-sex attracted people having their sexual function destroyed in the pursuit of this utter folly. Even young men who claim to be very happy with their transition will talk about this - it clearly has a diabolical effect on their life and mental health and it seems to me that they generally even blame themselves over it, too.
    You cannot tell me that this is not a modern iteration of eu-gen-ics and a very dark chapter in the history of medicine.

      @@uyoebyik It depends on what country you're in.
      In the UK, medical professionals get little respect for wanting to work with trans people, and many have a primary clinical focus not related to trans care.
      Only a tiny amount of funding is given to trans healthcare via the NHS, and there simply isn't enough trans people in the uk to create demand for some kind of "transing industry" for profit.
      Obviously, if we're talking about countries with no public health than you're talking about a exploitive capitalist market across the board for healthcare, as it's all for profit, but that's a separate issue to the realities trans people face.

      @@dreamclaw00 that didn't prevent confused young people from being wrongly permanently physically altered in the UK. Keira Bell wasn't the only one. They're lives have been ruined by the wrong medical interventions

      @dreamclaw00 Před rokem

      @@uyoebyik I agree, but that's not the fault of clinicians, it's the fault of the deeply shitty level of care trans people get in the UK (and the even worse care for de-trrans people)
      You won't resolve that by throwing all trans people under the bus like Richie or Keira have done.

    @14:33 when Ritchie comes in saying he is 100% sure he is Trans and the therapist goes back on his heels and says 'uhhhh okay then' and stops doing his real job and goes along IS what real Transphobia looks like. It's when people are afraid of the repercussions of countering Trans ideology. It manifests in the form of fear and silence.

    This has always puzzled me. Why a gay man would have penile inversion surgery? If he likes same sex intercourse, why would he ever need female parts? It just doesn't make sense.

    • @angeninetytwo
      @angeninetytwo Před rokem +1

      Because a lot of gay males have internalized homophobia and they can’t accept the idea of liking men as a man so they go on to transition because this somehow will make it a heterosexual relationship (which it will never be).

    Erin, I really enjoy these videos but I have a huge issue with the way you are conducting them. I find it very rude of you to constantly talk over the guest, cut them off and input with your opinion mainly when it has nothing to do with the topic, as the guest has to go back to the original topic. I also don't appreciate you giggling and laughing during times when the guest shares very personal and sensitive information. Overall, I find you to be quit unprofessional in this specific video. I hope you can take this criticism and use it to maintain a more respectful and professional interview in the future.
