    Thank you sir. I bought the same kit. It looks like the most difficult part is fishing the master cylinder and the line from the bottom. I had to replace my starter and unknowingly blew out my slave by not reinstalling it correctly. Live and learn I suppose...

      I'm glad the video helped. Yes, trying to get everything in place is a challenge. So far (after doing this again) the system is holding up on my truck.

    Hi Wyatt! That was a knuckle buster job and having to redo it probably would’ve made me want to run it off a cliff. My husband replaced one years ago and he didn’t cuss, but that job made him say a few things. Needless to say he got rid of it.
    I hope everyone is as well as can be. Life seems to take us down paths I wouldn’t want to travel twice.
    Hope you and your family have a blessed day my friend!

      All I could do is smile when it failed (again). I had to remind myself that I was home with all the tools and practice I needed to do this job again. I wasn't very happy as you can imagine, but I need the truck so yep, back under the hood I go! Thank you again for always being here. Jason says "hello".

    Every time I do any wrenching I always leave a bit of myself somewhere... As I have gotten older I my skin has become so thin that even a small glance against something will leave a small bruise.
    I have been replacing (both sides) the wheel hub bearings and upper control arms on Gravy's 2001 Blazer... the heat has been crazy this summer and I just can't work for very long in it. I have everything done and just need to bleed the brakes and that is on today's agenda. Only taken me a month to get the job done. Then I have to track down a power steering leak on it... that Blazer hates me!!!!!!!!!!! It fights me every step of the way on anything I have to do on it. LOL

    • @wyattoneable
      @wyattoneable  Před rokem

      I agree Les. This kind of work (or any work for that matter) is getting more difficult to do. Everything hurts and I have less patience in my old years. Plus like you said, it's been miserable hot lately and I hate the humidity. So far the clutch system has been working fine. Lets just hope that continues or else this truck just might find itself with a "for sale" sign on the window!

    • @diymisfit_Mechanic_UDX404
      @diymisfit_Mechanic_UDX404 Před 10 měsíci +1

      Actually, it's not manual. That's a hydrobooster that gets its power from the PS pump. That truck was originally a diesel, and diesels don't produce enough vacuum for a standard booster.

      This clutch system has been the weak link on this truck ever since I've had it. It sure doesn't give me much confidence to drive it. I've gotten pretty good at driving without a clutch but what a pain. So far this system is holding up, but I've only driven it a few times since installing the parts. We'll see...

    • @mischef18

    Oh wait, it's never fun, or a game
    I drove a 4 speed stake body for about a month like that because the clutch cable was a special order from international.
    Luckily, 1st was a deep gear, starter took it like a champ😆

    My Unimog lost its slave cylinder, and being an MB engine and trans, I was expecting a huge load of cash to be extracted from my wallet, the part was $45.00.
    You just never know….

  • @jeet7320
    @jeet7320 Před 3 měsíci +1

    Nice work! My 93 6.5 has a leak on the hydraulic line at the clamp under the steering column on the firewall. Is it best to replace with the whole new filled assembly master/slave and hydraulic line in one unit? Truck has 300k on it so I assume this may be a good idea even though the slave looks perfect. It looks physically impossible to re-use the original routing if trying to thread through a complete assembly.

    • @wyattoneable
      @wyattoneable  Před 3 měsíci

      It is difficult to bleed the system to make it work correctly. I tried that once and never got the clutch to work right. In my case the slave cylinder does not have a bleed screw. The entire kit wasn't much more money than the line so on my second replacement I elected to buy the complete kit. The hardest part for me was to get to the bolt holding the line on at the back of the engine. I never re-installed that as it is just to hard to get to. There may be a difference on your truck because it has the 6.5 diesel. Good luck.

    I have a 1995 with the nv4500. It won’t go into any gear at all. I changed both master and slave cylinder. I bleed it out and still not shifting at all. I’m guessing it’s gotta be a clutch or idk. I was driving one day around 35mph and then all of the sudden it wouldn’t go into any gear.
