Percy Tau is a South African professional footballer who plays for Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion and the South African national team.
He joined Brighton in 2018 but, due to work-permit complications, was loaned out to Belgian side Union SG with whom he won the Proximus League Player of the Season award. His form earned him a short-term move to Club Brugge, where he won a league winners' medal the following season, before being loaned out for a third consecutive season when he signed for rivals Anderlecht in 2020.

Tau need to play more risker passes and more forward passes. He got the skills to do that.
Notice that when he passes back he instantly starts running forward expecting a return pass over the top to get in behind the defence but his team mates are not on the same page

I really love Percy Tau as a football player but as we all know football is subjective and we should states facts only. Since he came back from loan spells he hasn't been giving Brighton anything to really talk about, a lot of backward passes and as an attacker he doesn't create a lot of chances, not to say am hating on the guy. There's still room for improvement, even Kevin de Bryune when he came to the premier league the first time playing for chelsea he wasn't really good but now he's one of thee best. Lets give him time to adapt. He'll improve, i think people are still hyped by the fact that he's south african and playing in England and not really paying attention to how he plays

You can't make forward passes when your teammates are laid back and they don't make combination passing. Brighton players are also not utilising his skill and pace. They only pass when he is closed down and facing his own goal.
The team doesn't gel well with Tau at all, i have seen this on his first game they have no movement like him. He gets tired coz they don't give him options
The is a lot of work to be done looking at the teams style of play he must not give up and execute what is instructed of him but timely show what he is capable off.When he receive pass most time he is alone with no assistance.
7 out of 10. Great pressing and general team play. Just needs to work on that final touch/pass/shot and then he'll be at 10/10... No disrepspect here. He's getting used to the team and the PL. And it's only a matter of time before he really shines. Proud!

Percy Tau will get there. I still think that there are players that are not playing him in the right times and we have to say that Blackpool also defended very deep. I will Graham Potter would give Tau the licence to roam freely. He is more dangerous like that.

Most of his passes were either to the side or back to his teammates behind him.
Now I understand that he's new and wants to accommodate everyone but he needs to be more focused on forward play and forward runs. Besides that, I'm impressed with his pace, he's definitely on the same level as these English players fitness wise 🔥

Need more forward passes. Position your body in such a way that u can see the goals. Always turn towards the goal as a forward. If you can't take them on, look for a run on the opposite wing.

He didn't have a good game, this team doesn't have a combination play, doesn't play with a third man run or diamond system, checked how they won this game, through long shots, Percy is used to the one touch and movement off the ball type of football, also the some players do not want to play with him
I've noticed that some players they don't pass him the ball when he is in Good positions. Again they need someone who will spread passes around, a good play maker.

I'm kinda sad that Perci left RSCA. He had a great connection with Nmecha (player of Man City). Maybe I'm biased bc I'm an Anderlecht fan but he did show a lot of promise over here. I'm not sure that half-way the season, changing teams was the best option for him. Before he went back to Brighton, I thought he could probably do better than that. He definitely played different than with Club Brugge, playing as a '10' or false 9.
He is just playing like ejimini. He is not taking on defenders, has back passes all the time, doesn't tackle on 1 on 1 situations, and doesn't shoot to the poles. He is not hungry and will soon be a bench warmer
This Tau is different from the Tau at Anderlacht, there he was dictating the play, taking on players and making forward passes. Brighton players are always isolated or pass to him when he's marked

I think his coach is a problem. Tau knows how to make passes with one touch. But now he is always fully mark, coach needs to work to improve on that to have someone who will help him from the centre so he can penetrate easily

If that was the case then the Coach brought him on with an instruction to cool things off. Played fairly well,cant complain except that I feel a bit sad cause had he been noticed at around 19-20yrs he would be one of the best players today at his current age.Its about time south african coaches,club owners&agents learn to release players very very early to play overseas even for lower teams so as to gain valuable experience instead of waiting for big offers,I can understand P Tau's situation but still he could have been released a year or 2 sooner by Sundowns.Someone should market our players overseas & accept any offers even from lower leagues so they could gain experience,I wouldnt care if they play in second or 3rd divisions overseas,I wont even mention English championship league cause it's far superior than our top multichoice leaque and any player wanted there should be allowed to leave,I mean if they offering less money there are clause that could be signed for selling team to benefit should the player make a serious impact.Anyways Perci have adjusted pretty well&I have no doubt he will improve.
