I have this tent and really like it. It rains a lot where I live/bikepack, and it has kept me dry and comfortable. I like the colors, personally. It is very easy to carry on the bike, too.

It's a good tent for sure in terms of performance

the straps on the top of the rain fly are to hold stuff for drying out, like bike gloves/jerseys; completely optional of course (like the strap near the bottom to hold the helmet)>
the zipper on the left of the door is in fact to create an awning (aka a 'porch' as you called it)--my issue with that feature, for the bike-packing version anyway--is that it requires hiking poles which bikers aren't going to have with them (but I have heard of people using their bike handlebars instead, with the bike lying down of course).
Color is of course purely subjective.
Color coding--a possible issue with them using colors like blue/green, is color blindness--and blue-green is one of the more common types of that--and honestly, I have no issue with the existing color coding scheme--no issues identifying which end is which.
Frankly, I'm surprised at how little you know about the features. With buying something this pricey, I do HEAVY research on it.

Love this tent, but Big Ag missed the mark with that stupid tapered foot. You cannot fit two 25" pads in this tent and the Big Ag tent floor pad that fits this tent is $299. I returned it and ordered the HV UL3p for me and my wife. I didn't want the extra weight or bulk, but at least I can use my existing 25" Big Ag Rapide pads without buying something special to fit.
If they ever go to a 50" full rectangle floor, I'll buy another 2p.

Overpriced American bug shelter!! Complete waste of money as a tent!

Ignorant foreigner talking about things they cant afford or dont understand. Surprised you didn't bring politics into this too. (I dont really think you're ignorant, just your comment). Its actually a great tent. Its like comparing a honda civic to a Cadillac. They both do basically the same thing, but one is way more comfy and actually fun to be in because of the extra features beyond its core function. Or like comparing fast food to a restaurant. There is nothing wrong with getting a cheap basic tent, just like theres nothing wrong spending more to get a better experience.

You probably need to use this tent before commenting. I've had this for several weeks in Scotland in poor conditions waiting out the weather and its a top tent. Yes, there might be stronger, bigger, but waaay heavier tents, but if you are experienced about tents, pitch it well and know how you intend to use it, it's a brilliant product. The reviewer here seems to be finding issues with colours and zips, but these are trivial distractions. For me the lack of footprint in price, and being 6 pegs short, are the issues, but these are not show stoppers, plus I use my own compression handlebar bag. Pitching it a few times and you can do it in 3 minutes. For me it's the stability, compact design of Shortstik poleset, spacious liveability, 2 door flexibility, materials and huge gear loft makes it a winner for me.
