Great video David. I hear you talking about the camera and the lens and the pros and cons but my question is what type of memory card do you use? Do use the expense Sony card or generic card to save all those fantastic moments in time you have captured?
David, im planning the same - I sold my a7iv and bought the zv-e1 when the zv-e1 was released. Now I plan to sell my a7siii and buy the a7cii. zv-e1 and a7cii will an awesome combo!

I can't afford any of these 😢 especially that A7CR yet alone the 16-35 GM II. I'm just hanging on my A7 III my photo/video workhorse with Zeiss 16-35 F4 and SEL 85 1.8 plus other tamron & minolta A-mount lenses.
I'm just a poor part time pro photographer and videographer, my last new cam purchase is just the DJI Action 3 to replace my Hero 8 a treat from my last paid client work.
There is one huge problem that no one is talking about. Mostly it’s a “ME” problem. That problem is, what am I going to do with all my older cameras!? I’m a gear hoarder and buy a new cam every six months 🤗😅

same as A7IV - cropped
Yep, just like the A7IV, cropped. You can literally just look at this as an A7IV in a smaller body, and add AI chip. All else remains equal

@@DavidManningvlog yeah the AI chip is such a great innovation especially that I shoot vids on my own.
The a7cii does have the active stabilization.
So a7cii AF is way better than a7iv??
What should I choose a 7iv or this one?
He lays out all the reasons in this video. The a7cii is basically the a7iv in a smaller body with the new AI and a few other new additions. Only reasons you may want the a7iv over the a7cii is if you just like the larger form factor, or you want the evf, or you need the full size HDMI in the a7iv.
@@ChrisMitchells_FlyingCameras A7IV has fully mechanical shutter as well, and A7C and A7CII electronic first and kinda half mechanical which has its limitations working with flash and 1/4000 shutter instead of 1/8000 in A7IV.
David....you really need to tell Sony and every company you share with us to give you their products or pay you because I swear I've bought almost everything you've talked about on your channel.
David, are you going to miss the A7IV as a photo camera though?
The A7CII is the exact same camera as far as photo specs go. Same viewfinder, rear screen, all the guts. So as a photo camera, it will be a perfectly lateral move, but as a video camera, the AI chip comes in handy! For both though, the auto focusing is enhanced by that chip, so it's a win win
@@DavidManningvlog oh I didn't hear it was the same viewfinder! Other than the smaller eyecup and grip, that does sound pretty attractive...
the A7Cii doesn't have the same EVF as the A7IV. The A7IV's is bigger with higher resolution. The A7IV also has two card slots (one of which takes the very fast CFe type A card), and the A7IV has a full sized HDMI connection, and a mechanical front shutter that can shoot at 1/8000. All that said, however, I'm considering selling my A7IV and buying either the A7CII or A7CR as I love the smaller form factor and the new AI focusing of the new cameras:-)@@DavidManningvlog

For sure depends on what you're shooting! Anything for clients, you're always going to want two cards👍
The A74 I had overheated a lot. I had to shoot at 1080 to avoid a shutdown. There is no point in having a camera that you're unable to use its feature set if you cannot use them. Therefore, I sold it and bought the FX3 with built in fan. Problem solved.

@@tanmaysakpalofficial the A6700 grip is better (larger), body is not the same (custom buttons are different) , A6700 noise should be worst than 7CII

What about rolling shutter with video? Many reviews really complain that it’s strong
I'm not saying the new AI tracking isn't good but what's with you guys all trying to act like the previous non AI tracking system is bad? I've been shooting with my a7SIII and Alpha 1 since they came out and literally don't miss shots. I really don't understand the constant sales pitch with these new AI bodies. They are better but it really is marginal compared to the previous line of cameras. More so acting like that's the only camera feature that matters... overheating, redundant shooting (dual memory cards), full size HDMI port, tethering, and so many other things are far more important than AI tracking or train mode... Oh well, to each their own. I came here for the lens not the camera! And yes I've used the AI tracking it's marginally better in real world scenarios but to really see it shine you have to absolutely dumb down your shooting with the previous tracking system ie you have to put the camera in a scenario that you wouldn't shoot in regardless of the AI or Non AI tracking.

a7c is a crap camera and not a matter what kind of functions is in there !!! why ???? because it have only 1 card slot - ONLY 1 SLOT !!! for any photographer that is nightmare because if memory card will stop work you can loose all photos and dont have 2nd card what usually save in that situations
