Happy gaming! Glen
Already did. Crashes are annoying, but they said there is a patch on the way
THIS is the reason I absolutely love your channel. I've never heard of this game before and I'm seriously thinking about picking this up. I've always been a fan of this genre. Thanks guys! SEE YA!!
Ah thank you mate this one Glen was really keen to highlight and I can see why! Mark
@@SwitchUpYt that’s why I hate this channel, you’re terrible for my finances 😂
😂😂❤@@DissociatedWomenIncorporated
@@DissociatedWomenIncorporated 🤣🤣I completely understand!
Just purchased this one Mark! Just a heads up, I got this for 30% off at only 17.49 USD over here in the states. Not sure about other regions. Cheers!
Thanks, for this comprehensive review! It really made my morning! It was hard to get anyone look at our game the way you did. As for the crashes, please stay tuned, we entered a patch over a week ago and hope as much as anyone Nintendo will soon find the time to unleash it.
Ah you're most welcome guys , great game!
hope to see a complete physical edition one day!
This is the first game in ages that I bought purely based on seeing it on the store, watching the video, reading the description and taking the plunge. Seems great so far.
Same
Very pleased that you got round to reviewing this one as I definitely had my eye on it. A SwitchUp score of 82% is good enough for me.
I got this right after your first video. I loved the colonists and it's rare such a game looks, performs and controls well on console.
Yeah it's excellent we HAVE to support indies like this. Mark
Same here.
I love seeing such a variety of games reviewed and showcased on this channel. I am pretty sure most of my games library has been because of you guys.
Legend thank you mate
Really looking forward to this one, thanks for the great review Glen
I often get overwhelmed by these kind of games, but the sci-fi setting draws me in, not gonna lie. Thanks for the review, this is the first time I've heard of this game! ❤
Need a strat sim, and Mark's glowing chat about it in a recent interesting games video mentioned here, sent me straight to the eshop to wishlist it. This review is a great and has helped me decide to graduate it from wishlist to backlog in future once patched and on sale.
How does it perform in handheld and can you change the font size?
Cheers SwitchUp, glad you had fun Glen!
Yeah it's decent I didn't have any issues in handheld, maybe Glen knows more? Mark
Handheld mode ran well. I played a good hour that way. Both crashes I had were in docked mode. Glen
@@SwitchUpYt fantastic!! Thank you so much for the replies Mark and Glen. This is so helpful and I look forward to playing soon!
Might be worth mentioning that’s it’s got 30% off for the next 3 days.
Awesome to see the diligence of rechecking once reviewed games - you guys work too hard lol - you are the best!
Was very tempting to just buy it as always a fan of the genre on PC, and welcome them to switch. Thanks for the video.
Just bought this at the weekend but hadn't started it yet, glad I saw the review now and I'm so excited to start it
Yeah it's really good mate! Mark
I picked this one up day one. Really liking the strategic games coming up on switch on the eve of its death...
I love Sim City and Civ 6. I find the challenge of mastering these games ever so elusive.
Meaning you don't find challenge?
I used to love civ games. Until I realised the game just cheats. Constantly.
I was interested in it since the indie direct. And bought it right after I saw your post that it is a good one. Before I watched your Video 😅
You are my place to go for switch reviews and I was never disappointed 🤘
This looks really interesting! I'm always looking for strategy games I can play on the go.
Looing for this type of Game for quite a while!! Have bought it and can't wait to start playing.
Definitely getting this one. Been playing a lot of lighter games recently and need a good strategy game to get stuck into
I've had my eye on this. Knew I could count on SwitchUp, Glen in particular, to cover this game. Congrats to Serious Bros. on releasing such a gem
Oooo I would enjoy this one! It's like Sim City had a baby with a soccer ball!
Looks pretty good. It seems like a spin up of the Civilization franchise
I picked this game up on the Switch and have been enjoying it, I haven't played a good console strategy game since Civ Revolutions on the Xbox! The game plays fine and the controls are pretty intuitive for a console RTS, but the crashing problem mentioned in this video is pretty serious.
I was having a hard time completing a single campaign level without it crashing at least once, until I figured out the trick - you basically have to play the entire game on very slow speed, instead of at normal game speed. It's like the switch can't keep up with the amount of stuff happening at full speed once there is a lot of stuff on the planet. After I slowed the game down though, I stopped having crashes all the time.
I don't mind playing the game at a more relaxing pace like this, but can imagine it's frustrating for a more advanced player trying to plow through the early stages of a new level when they can't reliably speed the game up without it crashing.
I'm still debating picking this game up while it's on that 30% sale.
That is a realistic reason for using old technologies. Even though coal is more expensive now than renewable energy in developed countries, in a lot of underdeveloped coal rich countries the initial investment is cheaper and power companies run like most companies, the cheapest option quarter to quarter with no long term outlook. In countries like the US and Canada where renewable energy is now cheaper power companies aren't just going to shut down a coal plant 20 or 30 years early to build a new energy source unless they are forced to even though long term it would save them money. It's not like the sims where you automatically replace all your power plants as soon as you can afford to when you get the new kind.
Looks interesting but I have spent too much money on sales lately and I really want to get NecroBouncer on launch so this is wait for a sale. On the wishlist it goes.
I noticed that even in handheld mode you can put the resolution up to 1080. Which I didn't think handheld supported, unless it's just a case of 720p being native. The frame rate stutters at 1080p in handheld but thought it was interesting that it had that option.
Great review!
Love this genre, and so excited for new options! I love Two Point Hospital/Campus and Civ 6, but there aren't enough deep sim games that really scratch that same itch.
Imagine all the people... who would live in your colony.
Wish listing this one for a future Black Friday sale 😊
Now if they fix the crashes with a new patch it would be a better game.
This looks pretty fun. It's been a minute since I've played a game in this genre
Absolutely love this kind of 90s PC strategy game like Deadlock. Actually Total Annihilation would be amazing on Switch, that game still slaps.
reminds me of a mix from surviving mars and dyson sphere
Hoh. Interesting. Looks very interesting. I'll add it into my wishlist for now.
You'd enjoy this smiley! Mark
@@SwitchUpYt i would definitly enjoy this one. But you know who wont enjoy this game? Flat earthers! 😂
Thanks for the review this looks really good and I have a long flight this upcoming weekend always on the hunt for a good game or two.
Cheerio
it's a tidy little experience at only 1 or 2gb size. I've been enjoying this one for a few days now.
Looks interesting. But I will hold out until they patch those crashes out.
At least in the EU there is currently a 30% discount until May 22nd!
Not my type of game, but thank you for your work as always keep up the great effort
Those still character models with the moving lips kinda give me the heebee geebees...
But I like it!
Looks good I do love a strat game ❤
I would love to see Starcraft 2 on the Switch some day...
If I loved rollercoaster tycoon, do u think I would like this?
I have a feeling this is a game I could sink some serious time into
For the price this seems like a great pick up
Definitely scoop this up on a sale the price for what it is just seems a little steep
I'm surprised that they haven't ported Alpha Centauri to the switch. Oh wait it's owned by EA....This'll do for now 😊
The concepts sound brilliant, and the visuals are amazing - I love how the spaceship looks when it lands on the sunny planet.
However the game is a bit too complicated for me, not a relaxing game for sure.
I wish they can remake Protonovous Assault (pretty sure the title is longer)
This game is very fun, it reminded me of Terraformers so I grabbed it pretty quick!
Great channel.
Thank you mate! Mark
The problem with more complex, CPU-heavy games like this on Switch is they tend to slow to a crawl later in the game or become unstable due to a combination of the older, slower CPU in the Switch and the lack of memory/memory bandwidth. I'd been curious about Civ VI etc. on Switch but every review mentions late-game problems/instability for these type of games. It's unfortunate Nintendo couldn't have given the Switch a little more CPU oomph, memory bandwidth and RAM - not a generational leap, but clearly it needed a little bit more than they gave it.
Imagine Earth, growing trees with Vetkoek's as their fruit. Free Vetkoek's on a Vetkoek tree😂
Hmmm I spent a hundred or so hours in Terraformers. Is this game gonna fill in the itch for that kinda game? I wonder how they compare and contrast to each other.
spacebase startopia vibes a bit
It's like Civ.
You know what this game reminds me of? M.U.L.E.
I find these games are a bit hit and miss but this does look good.
Normally I don't care for games like this but it looks like a cross between factorio and civ 6.
checkmate flat earthers
Looks good but not really my genre. Seems like something strategy fans will enjoy!
Finally.
building on a sphere? Wake me up for Imagine Flat Earth thanks.
i swear half the games on my switch crash!!! it's like part of switch gaming at this point!
There's something wrong with your switch, that doesn't happen on mine. Maybe you should have it checked.
imagine earth without wokeness
Boo!
so boring this kind of games..
No mate you need to expand your horizons. Pun intended. Mark
I hope they'll port and release Frostpunk 2 ❄🏔❄over to Switch. 😄
That would be fantastic! Mark
@@SwitchUpYt yeah, I hope there is some more collaboration with 11 Bit Studios at some point. They already brought Children of Morta to the Switch.
