- On this episode of Crazy Will Tech Show, I show you how to get the Elegoo Mars screen to work again. So like everyone else, I upgraded to CHITUBOX 1.9.1 and I was getting errors with the file. Well, you have to update the ELEGOO Mars firmware so I did and then the screen was not working so nothing would print. So I thought my UV screen was bad because it wasn't making any patterns. You could see right through it. Ordered another screen the same thing happened. Well, it was time to talk to the Elegoo team. After going back-and-forth with the company, I realized my vital error. Which they didn't even catch. So I thought I would share what I overlooked and show you how to get your ELEGOO Mars up and running again.

Another possible solution to a dim printer...if you also happen to own a cleaning/curing station, you might have your cords switched. They both fit the plug-in hole, but the printer adapter is 24v & the cleaning station is 12v. This will cause the printer light to turn on, but not with enough intensity to print.

Wish I'd seen those before taking the printer apart! 😂 just checked the adapter and it's the 12v from the curer! Now to put the printer back together and use the 24v adapter lol..🤞

This! This is what I needed! I had this exact problem and at the time I was troubleshooting up the wazoo but I couldn't find a solution. So much so that I basically walked away from the hobby because I simply couldn't get a successful print. I had done everything to try and get it to work (except replace the screen). At the time, I was upgraded to the latest firmware but every print still failed. I almost replaced the screen but I didn't want to keep throwing money at it if it didn't mean a solution. I was going nuts! Man, I did this and now I am back in business. I think for me at the time, I was just a victim of circumstance because there was no fix at that time. Thanks for doing this video, which I just happened to stumble upon (wasn't looking for a fix).

@@CrazyWillTechShow I spoke too soon. Now I have a whole new problem. The resin is actually sticking to the plate and its printing, but the print came out a sharded mess. I did a tank clean afterwards and the Elegoo logo is all stretched out and wavy. The left side of the image is fine but the further right it goes way outta wack. Back to the drawing board.
It sounds like you got the wrong drivers which elegoo Mars is it?
@@CrazyWillTechShow Mars 2 Pro. Running Chitubox 1.9.2 and updated with Firmware V4.4.3-c2_LCDC/1620X2560 /F9.25 (which is what the Chitubox site said I needed).
did you download these drivers? Firmware V4.4.3-c2_LCDC/1620X2560 /F9.25
Thank you so much i have a fdm printer that i use a lot, but had bought a elegoo mars some months ago ... i finally unboxed it and set it up. the first thing i do is the firmware update, and yes i didn´t read all the instructions, i managed to read the part of puting the files on the root and because it gave me a message saying the update was done i figured that was all. nothing was printing and because im new to resin printers i couldn´t figure it out. I forgot the part where after the update you have to "print/execute" the other files by the order they tell you too 1-.CBD 2- .txt 3-.bin 4-.logo . Thank you again.
Honest mistake I’ve done the same.. you’re just so excited to get it up and running and you forget to read.

Nice to meet you, I have a question for you: I have updated my 3d print's firmware correctly adding files to the USB root.
But now... can I delete those files from the usb or I have to keep them, otherwise the 3d printer won't work?

Hi! No that’s just to transfer the files to flash the printer. Once it’s done you can remove it.

My mars 3 pro inst turning the UV light off, even when the print is done, ou when there is nothing running.
Not sure if it was the same problem as yours, but do you know how to solve it?

You do a good job with your videos. I remember watching your Canon vixia video. You should get more views. I think that the problem is that the content topics simply don't have enough interest. Very specific but about things just a few people would have interest in. If you could make videos with more appeal to a wider audience you would explode.

@@CrazyWillTechShow hey bud. appreciate your videos. Would this contribute to partial support failure? It's only happening in the middle of the build plate. New plate, and I ran rook leveling test no problem. I tried the firmware update, and never got a beeping sound. But I suppose if were up to date, it wouldn't beep? If I put things on outside of plate, it prints all supports as normal. Any advice would be appreciated. Just started a couple months ago.

was your lcd test not working either? because i dont see how chitubox would have anything to do with an lcd test on thr printer
I’m a little confused by your question Chitubox makes the file that runs on the screen and chitu Systems make most of the components and drivers. No the printer test did not work.
OMG thank you.. Watched another video on mars pro 2 and dude gave total wrong directions. Nothing about root directory. Found this one on accident. Not realizing what Root directory was. Did just how you said and now im working.. Thank you.

Is this for the problem of the screen just not working? That's my problem, and I'm not sure if it's the screen or the software... I tried updating like you said but it doesn't work. Could you explain the problem, so I'll know if it matches?

So you’re elegoo mars isn’t printing anything? OK I’m gonna ask you some questions like why do you ask that? They may seem obvious.
1. did you slice it using chitubox?
2. What was the file format it put out?
How do I update to the 6 inch screen on an Elegoo Mars Pro. I did everything that you did for your Elegoo Mars thinking you were updating the Mars Pro and when I check the exposure it is not working.
I was doing the regular elegoo Mars. It should be the same. Did you download the latest drivers? And the latest version of chitubox?
I didn’t realise i used the “pro” software and did if with those instructions and doesn’t work, would there be a way to delete that firmware or can I just install the correct firmware
Think I did that too just flush it with the correct firmware.

hi i have the saturn 2 and have the same problem the exposure test is not showing an image. there is no firmwarrre update for this printer. any idea ?
What file format are you using? In chitubox are the settings set up for the Saturn two?

Would this be an issue as to why my prints aren't printing at all when I run prints? My printers only a few months old but I've been having print issues after getting a brand new vat a few days ago. Never had this issue til I started to use this new vat a few days ago and haven't been able to make one print
That should be the case just go through the video should fix your problem. Or you have a bad screen. Which does happen.
@@CrazyWillTechShow maybe the LCD went bad after I had resin leak on it and is hazy and won't print anymore? But I looked only for the firmware and can't find anything for a elegoo mars 3
@@CrazyWillTechShow is was working before I put the new vat on it the other day but since then hasn't worked.
Vat should have done anything. Without anything on it do you run the check screen? Do you see anything?
@@CrazyWillTechShow when I run the printer with no build plate as it's printing the uv light comes on and stuff but the LCD looms a bit blurry. Could resin have gotten inside the printer at all? The kapton tape seems to have lifted a bit as well. I was thinking of buying a new 6.6 lcd screen for the mars 3 on Amazon and seeing if that fixes it if not I might have to buy a new printer.
Updated the firmware ok but my printer won't print the .cbd file, says unknown file formet.
Any ideas of why it's not printing the .cbd file?
Managed to solve it, just in case anyone else is stuck make sure the USB stick is formatted FAT32 and not NTFS.

Hey Sir. I followed your video, followed the directions from elegoo, the machine is saying the firmware has been updated showing the new versions in the info tab, but the screen still has not changed from all purple to the screen with the little black box in the middle. I'm losing my mind any help would be great. Brand new screen btw bc I replaced mine too at the start of this issue like you did 😂
Are you sure you got the right screen? I’m thinking it might be different drivers for the LCD screen.
@@CrazyWillTechShow oh yeah screen is correct. I was printing up a storm with this screen. Then one day the screen went all people no black box in the middle like usual when testing the exposure. Saw your video, tried to update the firmware, which the machine is saying it's updated, and the screen never went back to normal can't print.
That's weird double check the connection? It is possible got another bad screen. Not unheard of.
Do you have the right power cable? I mixed up mine with the one from the curing machine which allows less power… lol.
And if you updated the LCD screen which is 1620x2650 ? What can I do ?
You can always change the firm where you just gotta go through it again.
@@CrazyWillTechShow I figured out the issue. The printer doesn’t accept .cbddllt extension … only .cbd now.
Oh good, Yes the change file format I said that in the video. I had the same problem lol. Don't ask me why they changed it 🤷🏻♂️
