You are one of very few who tested the Limited edition. The mix of the 700 and 770 caught my attention. Listened to the 990, 1770 and 770 PRO LE. You described the 770 PRO X LE perfectly. I just had to buy them on the spot. Very happy with the purchase so far. Excited to rediscover my favourite songs! Thanks for the review!

Just now looking to get into these kinds of headsets. This and your previous video with the "home made" 770 Pro X has definitely made my hunt a bit easier. Now it's between the DT700 Pro X, the new DT 770 Pro X or the Meze 99 Classics or 99 Neo. I LOVE how the Mezes look but the 700 Pro X seem to fit me better in terms of the soundscape I\m looking for. In the end though, I bet that pretty much anything I choose would beat the Logitech G533 that I've been using.
Also I really liked the sound test in the previous video so I was a bit disappointed there was no reveal in this one of how the actual headphones sound vs the ones you made.

Just watched this video through these headphones 😀I'm so stoked with these, i'm a music-listener, not a music-maker, but to me they sound incredible, especially for the money. Now all that's left is to order one of your custom-cables! I can't decide between a combo of light grey/black to match the ear pads, or just purple 🤔

Hello, the velor ear pads of the 770 pro x are very soft and comfortable but have the disadvantage of keeping the ears too hot. For summer I prefer the feel of leather. I saw that there are 2 models of replacement leather ear pads: EDT 770 S and EDT 770 SG what is the difference between them? which one is better for the 770 pro x headset? Thanks

Listening to this video with my DT 770 Pro 80, Custom Cans V3 mod. Really love them! No need to go for the Pro X then as I quite like both more resolved bass and more present highs (after having used a pair of headphones that produced muddy bass and next to no treble for years).

The BD 700 & 900 pro X series on the other hand are disappointing. The 900 Pro X(semi open back) for example barely sounds that much more open than my DT770's(250 ohm), and the vocals and clarity sound as if they're being masked by some sort of veil. Almost muffled. Went straight back to my DT770's. But i need more volume leeway for certain devices. This is where the 80 ohms DT770 or 770 Pro X(48 ohms) come into play. Ah vhat' to choose. :P

Great stuff man. As always. I'm not so much of a fan of the 770s bass. This version doesn't go in my favored direction either. I'm loving my 700 pro x though. Especially since I swapped the ticker fleece pads for the older thinner foam from a 990s pair, they got more jazzy. :)

@@tanpy_ I didn't swap the ear pads only the fleece foam covering the drivers. The 700s have some ticker ones comparable to Tygr300R that tames the high frequencies more than the older models. Swaping the ticker fleece on the 990s also works to tame a bit the peek at 9K. :)

I play Hunt:Showdown (all based around audio cues) and I am really happy with the performance of DT 770 PRO 32 Ohm, I got DT 990 32 Ohm as well and the closed version is just overall better. Just ordered 770 PRO X and I am looking forward to test them. Gotta let you know... :)

    • @radekarrivedvancl6201

@astralcomet1 So, I got the DT 770 PRO X's (48 Ohm) on Monday and I was pleasantly surprised I could drive them louder on the same audio setup than the DT 770 PRO 32 Ohm. For music I like the X version more than the original, but during gaming I was completely lost in the terms of where even the shooting comes from.
If you want to have a proper coinessance of the sound sources in the space, I would recommend putting leather/synthetic cushions on the DT 770 PRO X's instead of the velour ones, that's what I did with mine. I did swap the earpads between the 770's and it works like a charm. If you don't want to spend more money on addons, I would recommend you to stay on the original DT 770 PRO *BUT* I would now (with the knowledge) go for 80 Ohm version.
Also they are closed so no noise bleed into your condenser mic. I have dynamic mic and even there was a noticeable sound bleed from 990's.
      TL:DR: DT 770 PRO X + Synthetic leather cushions = gaming eargasm

WOW this is what I was looking for when I try modifing the 700, I Knew it, It is possible to have a thiner foam and increase the stage and brightness and mid/highs sharpness. I am sad you never tried to mod the 700 pro X because they sound really good and when changing that thick foam they drastacly change. But now I dont think I will spend more money with headphones, considering I have de same drivers, I will stick with it, but NOW I Know they can work with a thiner foam. AH AH, you say the manufactors sometimes modify they products inspired in your chanel? Now I think they made this limited edition inspired on the coments I made lol. Still looking forward for a mod for the 700 pro x man!
I am curious If I could make the holes on the back of the drivers my self, as they did in the limited edition? That makes all sense because they will be more brighter then they need that extra 80hz bass to balance it out, should I try or will I permanently damage my drivers?

But unfortunatly looks they dont ship this items to uk... i guess its too risky to try then, because the back cups are diferent shape between the 2 models, so I am not certain it will work. I am enjoying a lot the sound having changed the filter in the front of the drivers, and also the foam inside the ear pads to a thinner one so the sound overall its more close to the ears.
Guess I could make a post called "The Glorious sponge cloth mod for the 700 pro x" lol...
I would encourage anyone to try it, and it only takes 3 min to put everything back to normal if needed, and see how crystaline this headphones can sound, though with the drawback of having less bass (but still very present!), loosing the V shape signature, and to be listened at not so loud volumes, otherwise the highs can be very harsh.

@@CustomCans but maybe V3 mode should be even nicer upgrade? I am afraid 770 48 Ohm may sound to bassy and not as detailed (?) My fav sound is HD600 with Sonarworks eq and 3dB hi and low shelf.

      @CustomCans  Před 2 měsíci +1

@@panengworldwide5758Because of all the investment they have done designing and producing parts for them I suspect they won't be super limited. I don't know but as they are 1924 - 2024, I suspect they will still be selling them until the end of the year. Then if they sell well they will probably do a non limited version with different branding

ALRIGHT PEOPLE! ... I will write it down because everyone only sees the rainbows and puppies with this 770 PRO X, and no one is telling the truth about sound quality.
I am a big fun of the old DT 770 Pro (especially the 250 ohm) and had high expectations with this "Limited Edition". I waited like 3-4 months then finally got released in my country. I bought one (on my own money).
In short, I didn't like it and will return it...
The sound is more closer to the DT 700 X with added spark on the top + a big boom on the low end. For a studio monitoring headphone this sounds way to bass heavy to me. The mid range and the vocals sound weird and resonating/ringing, while they are also distant and artificial. I tried loads of tracks, but after a few minutes I just put it down... I didn't enjoy listening music on it at all.
You won't find the engaging and wide sound of the original DT 770 Pro here. Sometimes the sound even felt boxy and unnatural with much emphasis on the bass.
To my ears these headphones just too different from the original, and do not understand how Beyerdynamic could name these as "DT 770 PROs".
It is not a bad headphone by any means, but it has nothing to do with the originals.
This is an EQ-ed DT 700 X with a more comfortable design. By the way, I disliked the DT 700 X too because that was way to flat and uncomfortable.
After trying a few recent Beyers I realized that, the new Stellar 45 driver has no soul in it. Boooring as heck and It's hard to imagine anyone enjoying it for a long term.
The DT 770 PRO X sound signature in pair with similar headphones in the same price range so it won't stand out from the crowd. I would even say that the sound tuning is close to the Audio Technica M50x, so pretty much V shaped with scooped mids. You can decide if that's a positive or negative thing...
    I am deeply disappointed...
I do like the classy design and build quality, but this won't be my favorite and I will reach back to the old one, 80 or 250 ohms versions.
This situation feels like a classic movie remake with a different actors for the today"s "standards". Not always necessary or true to the original.
The new Stellar 45 driver is powerful that's the only good thing with it.
Personally I don't like the direction that Beyer took with these new line of "studio" headphones. 😢

That piece of plastic needs to be there because the parts are stored for much longer then the headphones and would get dirty or dusty

Paper could be a good substitute in the future as that will keep the dust off or just blowing them with compressed air before you stick them in the box
