Wait till you listen to them LIVE....................Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020 is the best concert to show case the insane talent in this band. They are a power metal band and the best playing one today even though they have only been together 3+ years!!! The 1st all female metal band to play at Wacken (2018)!!!! They have gotten so much better especially LIVE and Asami the lead vocalist has that bluesy tone but it never is over powered with everything going. The drummer, Haruna at 4' 8" is a world class performer who is a beast (much like Kai of Nightwish). Here are some songs to blow your head completely off!!

Yeah mate you just sow the winners of the 2018 year in category for best new metal band. Lovebites are power metal band formed in 2016 from Miho the bassist and Haruna the drummer in Tokyo . The other members are Asami the vocalist and songwriter, Midori the lead guitarist and backing vocals, and the other lead guitarist and pianist and composer Miyako. The last album Electric pentagram from this year is nominated for one of the best 20 metal albums for 2020. You need to check some songs from their last concert Five of kind in Zepp Diversity Tokyo from this year, like Thunder vengeance, Signs of deliverance, Swan song, Dancing with the devil, Holly war, Rise some hell, We the United, Shadowmaker. All the concert is mind blowing stuff. By the way at the moment Lovebites are the best all female power metal band in the world. Enjoy it and stay metal.

The best of the current Japanese female bands imo, Miyako and Midori (guitars) are phenomenal. BTW, that's my wife on drums..(I wish lol).

I enjoyed the reaction! This is definitely metal. It's a subgenre known as power metal. It was pioneered by Iron Maiden (though the term didn't exist at the time they were at their peak), whom these ladies list as a major influence and continued with bands like Fates Warning and Helloween. Current bands in this category besides Lovebites are Unleash the Archers, Frozen Crown, and Dragonforce (whom these ladies have toured with). Of course, you'll have to go live next. Everyone has their favorites, but I put my vote in for "Holy War". Ciao!

Although I listen to some baby metal and band-maid, it was these ladies I discovered in 2017 and yes, they sing all songs in English. Been following them since their very first video (Don't Bite The Dust). Have bought every album of their since they came out, the best power metal group since Maiden And Priest 100%. They are the best and every album has gotten more awesome.

Huge LOVEBITES fan. I consider myself one of their first fans since I was one before their first EP dropped. I saw a blurb on the Brave Words website for the upcoming EP. There was a snippet of the first single Don't Bite the Dust. I heard it and was hooked and been a fan ever since. You should check out that song and Shadowmaker both are killer. Both videos have this weird middle bit because the record company, I assume, was advertising as well as making a music video. Just let those bits play out and you will experience killer music.
They recently released several live videos from their latest DVD. Some of the good stuff is "Thunder Vengeance," "Holy War," or "Raise Some Hell." There is also the Official Music Video from a couple of years ago for "Shadowmaker." The singer, Asami, studied ballet growing up and sang gospel and R&B before joining the band. The band was started by Miho (bass) and Haruna (drums and only 4'9" tall). The guitarists are Midori (the blond with the eyepatch) and Miyako (the dark haired lady). Midori plays more aggressively while Miyako seems to play with more finesse, IMO.
They are heavy metal! You just need to go back to the Iron Maiden and Judas Priest era of the 80's.
2 of the members are big fans of Iron Maidenand if you listen carefully you will hear a definite influence on their style.

Miyako is so solomn, she looks pissed off most of the time, but I think it's just her way of concentrating. Both a great guitarist and great keyboardist.
Her counterpart on the second guitar, Midori, is her adorable opposite. Breezy, cheerful, flamboyantly sexy, and as talented as Miyako IMHO, which is a lot.
In case you don't know already, Lzzy of Halestorm heard them at a metal festival they were both in and invited them to open (?) with Halestorm on that season's remaining concerts. Awesome especially considering Lovebites is named for a Halestorm song! For real, that is not a guess.
Afterward Lzzy said she was blown away by their professionalism and talent, and wants to get them back to do a full tour together.
Yes they are amazing and for sure one of the best metal bands out there today. Its gonna be hard to find a bad song by these ladies. Theres plenty of great suggestions in the comments, let me just say you should watch them LIVE, clips from Zepp DiverCity 2020 DVD or from Daughters of the Dawn DVD. As for songs, Break the Wall, Swan Song, Holy War, Thunder Vengeance just to name a few, all LIVE. Have fun discovering this world class metal band.

If you wanna hear Trash Metal, listen to their live version of Thunder Vengeance or Holy War from 2020, for a power ballad, look out for Epilogue live in 2019, old school metal, We the united and Swan Song both from 2020 or Empty Daydream from 2019. Pure power metal song are in regular music videos on CZcams: Shadowmaker and The Crusade which have an advert in the middle of the video. Never check out their live performance from Bloodstock 2018, the sound engineer screw up big time and Haruna the drummer cried after the show.
Miho on the bass created the band in 2016 and brought in Haruna on drums who was her ex bandmate from Destrose. They hired Midori (ESP guitar) and Asami on vocals and had Miyako (guitarist on the right with the Dean guitar) come in to help on a few songs for their 1st EP but after the release, they hired her fully before they released their first full album.
Songs are composed by Miho and Miyako most of the time with Asami having done a few but she adds the vocals. Mao from the late group Lightbringer does come in to co write some of their songs. They only have 1 song in Japanese in their repertoire and it is on their debut EP.
Fun facts: Midori started learning guitar at age 20 and Miyako started at age 18 (she is 30 now) but she was trained to be a concert pianist from the age of 3 and they use that in some of their songs and they won the 2018 Best new metal band from Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards

Japanese women rockers have been on fire the past decade, great scene. I’m guessing you expected metal to be rough & growly, but it can be a knife, Smooth & shiny & sharp & piercing. Iron Maiden (classic metal, NWOBHM) kinda influenced all metal, these ladies also thrash (the megadethiness), and rock (thin lizzy, Whitesnake, some Judas Priest), and power metal started with fantasy (Dio liked dragons) imagery, filtered thru Iron Maiden, went to Germany (scorpions, Accept), found its speedy pace (Helloween, perhaps closest to lovebites, then Hammerfall, Stratovarius), then back to UK (Dragonforce). They’ve intentionally borrowed and blended all those retro influences, committed to English, use Norwegian mixing studio, debuted in London, and were successful, playing major festivals in their first year
Tons more great bands (tho be kind, remember with band Maid, BabyMetal, Wagakki, you’re starting at the top). This is power metal and you just had seen two of the best guitar players in present world miyako(dark hair) and midori (the blonde), they are amazing , the drummer haruna is only 1,48m ( 4'11")and her nickname is energyzer bunny (imagine why) and she started this band with the stunning miho (they came both from destrose) , with the powerfull vocals of asami we have one of the best bands in the present .

My best info is not 4-11, nor 148cm(4-10.25), nor 4-8, but ... 145cm(4-9). Kinda doesn’t matter, but it is shocking to realize that the willowy towering Miyako is only 5-2 (per herself), the rest it’s not clear that they’re over 5’!
@@timgove5337 i think you are right, the height is not clear and we dont have much information , in some we see 1,45 and in others 1,48 . I think they have 2 members above 5'0" , the other i think is miho , she seems taller than midori and maybe that 1,48 m could be asami's height .
I remember Haruna 145 looking authentic. Miyako 158 is from herself. 148 would be my guess for Asami, good point. I’ve said before that the others are under 5feet, but I don’t actually know. But seeing Miyako “tower” over them, then realizing that she only comes to my chin, fascinating.

This is powermetal, and some of the best you'll find. Not a really new sound, they take inspiration from several other bands such as Dragonforce and so on. Band-Maid is more on the hard rock, although some of their songs get heavier.
Heavily accented English so you still need the subtitles. She doesn't speak English so she sings it phonetically. She tends to miss some of the nuances, but it doesn't matter. Still good.
