    You want to know what this song is about? it is a love song to Heavy Metal and a pledge to do all in their power to save it from the darkness and obscurity into which it has been sinking for many years. I would say that if there is any group in the world qualified for this mission, it's these girls.

    You could say that about any Lovebites, song. Any aspiring musician would just walk away :-) Lovebites, are known as power metal but the lead singer announces them on their live gigs as: "We are Lovebites and we play heavy metal". Loverbites, have played with DragonForce, I think in the UK? As with two other Japanese bands, BabyMetal and Band Maid, the live show is where it is at. Doc Loco, in their comment have given you info' about the band members.

    Asami is a fantastic vocalist! Check their channel for a live set they streamed yesterday. They're even better live. Midori (white guitar) and Miyako (aka Mi-Ya, black guitar) do fantastic duels, duets and solos. Miyako is also a concert pianist. They toured the UK supporting DragonForce last year.
    As well as superior musicianship, their major selling point is they sing in English. Asami lived in America, so speaks good English, as do Midori and Miho.

    • @ThePallidor
      @ThePallidor Před 3 lety

      Asami's English pronunciation could be improved to get rid of some of the things that may put off native speakers. Since their main audience is Japanese there's little motivation to get it beyond the level she's at, but in an hour or two of pronunciation training by someone who is used to coaching Japanese students and then repracticing her repertoire for a couple of weeks she'd be much more listenable.

They are very influenced by British bands like Iron Maiden. 1st all female Japanese metal band to play the Wacken festival in Germany. oh you can be sure it's not fake all right! guitarists midori tatematsu-on the left with the white esp and miyako watanabe on the right with the dean are two of the most amazing players on the planet. watch the live concert on you tube for yourself called 'daughters of the dawn' and they are even better live if that is possible-they feed off of the crowd and just go nuts. drummer haruna yosai is one of the top 4 or 5 drummers out there. she and bassist miho rosana came from disbanded early girls metal band called destrose- another killer band. vocalist asami has glorious vocals and hits high notes that go right through you. me and a couple of other subscribed watchers did recommend you to check them out. so glad you did.best power metal band on the planet bar none.i have all 4 of their cd's over the last 4 years.best money i've spent on music in the last 35 years. not a bad song to be found.and the more you listen to asami the more you will love her voice as she really grows on you

    Excellent reaction! I understand your opinion of the vocalist. But she is in keeping with the genre. I've heard that she was an R&B singer before joining this band, which showcases her ability to adapt. Keep in mind that the "pioneers" of the power metal sub genre was Iron Maiden (even though the term didn't exist when they were at their peak). It's been said this band is highly influenced by Iron Maiden. And Asami is a female Bruce Dickinson if I ever heard one. Cheers!

  • @realdocloco

    I wasn't sure about Asami's voice when I first heard them (with Rising) - obviously good but a bit too much what you expect for the genre. My opinion changed (for the best) as soon as I saw them playing live, and wilder songs than this one, like Break The Wall. She's stunningly good live - they all are! Miho (bass and boss) and Haruna (Harupi/drums) are already veterans of the japanese metal scene (yes, they started early !!!) and the perfect rythm section for this kind of metal. Harupi is so cute and tiny, delicate and smiling ... untill she sits behind her kit and plays at breakneck speed for the whole show! And Midori (ESP/smiling) and Miyako (Dean/mysterious) ... what more can I say? Yin and Yang and yes their harmonies are pure perfection. Miyako is also keyboardist (classical piano trained since childhood ...) and play a few songs on keyboard (... or even keyboard one hand and guitar with the other!) on stage. She's the main songwriter too.

      You say exactly what I could say! I have problems with most of the japanese girl metal singers, but Asami felt very good after a little listening. She really shines in the live shows. Also agree about the other girls. Haruna is adorable with this irresistable smile, no matter how hard she works! 😃

      I like Asami because she is not the type of anime vocalist that sounds cute/moe.. maybe in some thrash metal songs like the hammer of wrath, break the wall, mdo, thunder vengeance she just needs to improve english pronunciation. But on some power metal and ballad songs like rising, under the red sky, we are united, empty daydream, epilogue ... she is very suitable and good

    Nice, this really is a nearly perfect song & recording. Have people told you that they they’ve already released over 40 songs, despite only playing live just over 2.5yrs? Or that they toured with Dragonforce this fall? They had such fun, the bassist was kicking her bass like Herman, Sam was dancing in their style, and Herman played onstage in a white dress! Here they are onstage together for a goof czcams.com/video/T084en3abAk/video.html
    Now if you want real “throw away your equipment”, Japan’s LisaX has her third major label release out, now that she’s turned 15 she’s decided to hire pros and include a singer. She found Rina (B’z) to sing, Hazuki (Disqualia, Rami, Nemophilia, Narumi’s Band) to play guitar. Guest rhythm section? Shane Gaalaas(B’z, many; first gig out of school was Yngvie), and Billy Sheehan on bass (B’z, mr Big, winery dogs, dVid lee Roth, etc). Maybe not as “powerful” a song as lovebites, but great melody whilst technically next level ...
