- After searching high & low for an organizer that I could use as a wallet and cash envelope organizer, I finally found a solution I love.
For over a year, I have carried a wallet AND a clear pencil pouch for my envelopes inside my purse. I wanted to find a way to combine a wallet with my cash envelopes, and turn two things into one.
I knew that I wanted one thing for sure - a binder ring system. I wanted to be able to click my cash envelopes into my wallet without them sliding around. This has a 6-ring attachment that can be taken out of the organizer if necessary.
I also bought the 6 hole adjustable paper punch so I can now punch all of my envelopes.
I always wanted a zipper organizer. Instead of my envelopes being clearly open in my purse, they are now hidden away.
I had no idea if my cash envelopes would fit inside this thing, but surprisingly, they fit PERFECTLY.
It also has a place for cards, cash and all of the conveniences my old wallet had.

I've been a long time fan of Dave Ramsey. I've gotten away from envelopes and cash though. In the last few months I've started to carry envelopes again. But I have a money pouch with plain boring envelopes. And I hate carrying it in my purse. Last night I stumbled upon this concept of these cute cash envelopes. I looked on Amazon for a wallet type thing last night. Glad I didn't purchase the one I saw. I like this one much better. Thanks for doing a video on this.

Roseanne Michelle that would help huh?! My husband works 90-100 hours a week so finding time to do anything isn’t too feasible. However, what I have done is shown him our progress in numbers. I stay home, husband is the provider, his daughter who is 15 lives with her mom and so it’s just the two of us in our home. I use the envelope system. At first my husband hated to hear me say ‘budget.’ Lol. However, at the end of each two weeks I show him what’s left in the envelopes and he sees the leftover money that will go into savings. He feels better about his work and looks forward to meeting our goals.

I make my own cash envelopes with pretty paper and my laminator. They aren’t as fancy as yours but they get the job done.

654Bearcub I have found a bunch of free ones on google. I recently watched a video where a woman used an atm envelope as a template that seemed to work well. My cash envelopes are made from dollar store scrap book paper and are unlamented, they work well. Honestly the Etsy ones while nice seem really expensive to me.

I love the idea of cash envelopes but I've learned that if I need to set aside money, I need to leave it at home. The temptation to use all that money is too great for me. Sad to say, I don't have much self discipline. So I keep all my money for bills and such in a drawer that locks haha. I just can't bring that money with me 😂😭
I can relate - I only take my cash out weekly now because I spend it if I don't.
Yes! I take exactly only one envelope with me in my purse. Just like my grocery shopping if that is what I am doing. I have the cash in my wallet as my miscellaneous money....this is the coins leftover from the other cash envelopes or my pop can deposit when I take pop can and bottles back. I also put cash on gift cards for gas stations for my gas.

True!! Im about to buy cash box w/ lock for myself and im trying to be a minimalist person... proper hygiene and proper health is all i need now... other stuff are irrelevant and it is very effective that i could buy what i need ..not what i just want ...
I want to use this method but I just know if I see I have a little money left over on an envelope and it’s toward the end of the month, there is no way I would be able to resist going and spending it lol

I ended up getting the same one, which I love since my Kate Spade one is bulkier. To make holes in the envelopes I put the provided ruler along the bottom and take the hand held hole puncher and get the perfect sized punch, just an fyi.

Great video. I went onto Amazon and got a new Filofax Saffiano for only $21 including delivery. A big bargain and fantastic/quick product/shipping. The calendar was 2021 but the rest all current. LOVE it & then ordered funky set of 24 envelopes with labels and tracking sheets for only $14 with delivery . Found your channel and video searching on how to make 2024 the best financial year ever and you came up--loved the support and perspective. Subscribed and take care!

Claire Frances i made some dividers out of index cards. I just covered one side with washi and left the other side black to write on if needed.

I would sell my current wallet to get a new one.
I will help you hahhaa old you empty and donate then you organise new hahahaha or options 2 old you empty and clean and sale then you but new .... I do envelop system in college to save for travel to Paris ..... Was fun spend all this money for things what I plan and some other what do t plan but I have money to endulge myself ....the most fun bring me small spends for little things what you can buy only in Paris likelittle cross what they make only in Notre Dame until this days on wall of my house even I am not anymore in France or Poland but gloomy and God forgotten England .
I use the Luxe Wallet and i love it! Then new design has a wrist strap, and i can even fit my phone in it. Its made out of vegan “leather” too!

I would love to use this method and I think it would be great but the way my mind is set up I would be paranoid everywhere I go about someone robbing me and there goes all my money .....

Exactly. Just the possibility of misplacing it. I could see using it for future savings for larger purchases left at home but still, even then, the idea of unsecured cash makes me nervous.
M Levenson I know! God forbid but the money can be lost in other ways other than someone stealing it. Fire, children throw it away or destroy it, children take it to school and give it away, etc
I have a similar setup with a black Kate spade Wellesley planner. It is a little wider, and I think I like the narrower Filofax. I’m on a no-amazon spend (really an no online spend month) so it will have to wait until I make some more financial gains!
And I must add: I use a Bella Taylor cash system wallet for my everyday carry, and my Kate spade holds sinking funds.

Unless is sonepromotion and budget you can redo next month saving double ....beauty of budgeting is that you always can adjust without destroing principals ....adjust not destroy hahah.....I havesepapareaccountfor years what my ex do t know about ...I have sale of my clothes and money from it I use to transfer to pay Pal that was my money for treats and goodies ....amazing how much I get for my old stuff and hi never even knew how much my goodies cost so cannot use it against I me but I use agains him in divorce .....work wonders .....

I use a filofax with their plastic enveliopes in . I use a note in each to write a tracker, but you can put coins in too
Now to add strap to make it a cross body wallet!

I have a Vera Bradley turnlock wallet and I use index cards. Much cheaper. Some of us just can't afford to buy all this. Good ideas though.

There is an erasable pen you can use. You can just erase it after every month. That way you save paper ink etc etc 😉

I only really have 3 cash envelopes that I use daily (I'm fortunate) so I just use a cheap wallet that has 3 different pouches that I can put cash in and I just remember which one is which. I'd love a Filofax, but can't justify spending that much on a wallet. Maybe once my "allowance" fund envelope gets sufficiently stuffed.
do u put all of the change in the zippered area? I dont like that idea because then the change from the envelopes get mixed together. I am trying to find a solution where I can keep the chance in one spot
