    This was a very good highlight for sketchup is capable of. Things will not work unless you enlarge the components...Thank you very much for emphasizing this point.

    Great to get some tips for more advanced users. I appreciate how you use your shortcuts without explaining every step. After a short period any user should know these things and not have it explained every time 😠. More please

    The scenario that doesn't work is really weird,
    it seems the shape follow the path but in a larger scale and in the opposite direction!
    Is this a bug, or there is something messing with the geometries elsewhere.
    Thanks Tyson

    I was modelling small objects and wondered why follow me wasn't working😭
    Your tip to make a larger component worked wonders🎉🎉

    Some good tips there. It looks like Trimble got a hold of your UI as well. Its looking very mono tone hideous, just like Tekla.

    No DaveR credit for the scale up! 😂😂😂 SketchUp owes DaveR a lifetime pension for that trick.

    Does anyone have an idea of how to use follow me (or something else) to model a juice groove on a cutting board? My model is made of components for each board glued together to make the custom cutting board. I want to then cut a half circle profile around a path inset from the edge out of the top face of the boards. Follow me continues to be a mystery to me....

    If only you could edit the segment count in a follow me shape at any time during the modelling process ... 🙂

    Why don't any of these videos address the "profile must be perpendicular to the selected path" issue when it obviously is. Nor do any of these videos address why does the follow me tool goes inactive when I hover over the profile. Or in order to pick a path my container comes up around my group or component and interferes with the tool. This has be the biggest lie on the internet. This tool simply WILL NOT WORK! I've watched tons of videos and yes I've selected the path first, I do exactly what the videos say and it does NOT work. I am convinced this is a conspiracy to drive me insane.

    • @t.e.1189
      @t.e.1189 Před 2 měsíci

      I've tried it again for the one hundredth time. And again it DOES NOT WORK! I select a simple path a square box grab the follow me tool go to click on the profile and it erases it. What in the world is going on. I've also just saved everything and shut down my computer and restarted it. Does not help. I wish it would malfunction like some videos show. At least I would feel I'm making progress. I can't even get it to do a single thing. I have no issues with any of the other tools.

      While we can only guess without seeing your model, it SOUNDS like you are trying to work with too small of geometry. The best way to help you would be for you to hop to our forum (forums.sketchup.com) and share a model that you are struggling with... there we can actually look at what you are doing and help you out.

    • @t.e.1189
      @t.e.1189 Před 2 měsíci

      I know, you can't tell because you cant see what I'm doing. I understand. As far aa going to the forums. I have read comments there, but I have never participated in a forum. Not sure how they work. And I have no clue on how to share my model with anyone yet especially on a forum. Never done anything like that. I did finally manage to get the follow me tool to work though by NOT making the profile nor the path a group or component. Not sure that is necessary or correct, but it did finally work for me. Thank you for all the videos. @@SketchUp
