Yeah I know a little something about that. Whilst serving my brief stint in the Army they taught us "combatives" which is some variation of brazilian jiu jitsu. And whilst doing some sparring I was caught in a proper rear naked choke and nearly went out, before tapping out, in roughly 5 or so seconds.
But when you go out from a blood choke (the type that takes you out in less than 10 seconds), you also wake back up in about 10 seconds, so no there aren't any accurately portrayed chokes in movies or tv

Does it matter? The black boyfriend of the rich family's daughters DNA is all over the place. He would get a couple of lifetimes for this in any case and "they tried to steal my body" is not a valid defense in court. It would take the cops a few days to track him down. But I guess as they don't show this it is less dark and maybe we shouldn't expect too much realism from a movie based on a 50s horror troupe so maybe he goes free due to that.
But there is a similar better movie by Sam Raimi called "The man with the screaming brain" where half Bruce Cambell's brain get replaced with the brain from a KGB assassin and try to take control of his body. Sam himseelf play the Igor to the mad doctor performing the surgery. It is as good as it sounds.
