I'm happy that the amount of vitriol and anger that I have after every Jets Loss is manifested through Benigno.
From the nights after a brutal loss, Joe was our beacon on WFAN late nights and then even better when he got the middays from 10-1.
This was yet another BRUTAL loss, like so damn many over the years, that had me beyond ticked off.

Yeah, if I can speak for other Jets fans the Lions are sort of our NFC brothers. Representing Detroit, where even the suburbs are famous for great music. Rooting for you too.
By a little more negativity do you mean a lot more negativity? We lead the league in negativity, which probably stems from the garbage coverage the Jets have always gotten from the local media. If things weren't negative with the Jets I wouldn't know what to do.
I hope Detroit can build on this win and make the playoffs. I've always respected the loyalty of Detroit's fans, not to mention its overall importance as a major American city. Detroit is more like NY/Philly/Boston than it is Chicago, in my opinion.

That was a total team loss. Offense, Defense, Special Teams, and Coaching all contributed significantly to this loss.

2-5 as a starter. Wilson threw 2 TDs which is 2 more than White had the previous two WEEKS. Not saying Wilson is the future but get a clue.

The other thing that kills me are these coaches being clueless with the 2 point play and then all day they are chasing points.
I would never use the 2 point play until I needed it at the end. How many times do we see a guy use the 2 point play in the second quarter and they miss and instead of being down 8 they are down 9 and need two scores instead of one score! It's ridiculous!

Been a die hard, life long Giants fan for 46 years, a WFAN listener for over 35 years, grew up on Mike & Dog, Steve Somers, but I so miss listening to Joe every Monday, ripping his Jets to shreds because of another dismal performance! I'm 51 & life long NYG fan but I LOVE Joe. He says exactly what I think regarding Jets/football. It's hilarious to see Joe get emotional & for the most part not use any filter - and he's not scared of hurting anyones feelings.

How's this for irony? Zach played well enough to win that game. The Defense let Zach down. If they hold in the last 5 minutes and we win, Zach will have led a 4th quarter comeback victory, threw for over 300 yards, 9.1yds per attempt, and 2 TDs passing plus one rushing!

Joe, Mike White started 6 games after being in the NFL for 5 years of learning albeit on the bench. Zach hasnât had that time to even sit and learn as Mike.

Thats why you sit his ass (zach) down for first 2-3 seasons like how football USED to be(more money involved now then before so now kids get thrown in fire out the gate due to money )...& again for the nerds who get caught up with âwins & lossesâ records...mike is 2-4 career wise ..both losses this year with vikes & bills wasnt on HIM (he threw game winning touchdown to special teamer barrios who has no business being in offense dropped ball in end zone) & bills game he got knocked out of game twice (carter & flaaco both had key fumbles ) & even with that jets still lost by 1 score...last years teams was completely different & far less talent on offense with the last ranked defense(his only real bad game was against bills last yr) ..this is why you cant go by âwins & lossesâ...zach 5 wins this year wasnt due to him winning games the defense & run game did...he threw 2-3 good passes against steelers on winning drive but overall was terrible that game had defense not had key int late in game jets lose..im resigning mike end of the year & if team can salvage atleast a 3rd rounder for zach(jd not gonna be able to jerk another gm like he did seahawks for jamal or panthers for darnold again) & lets start moving on & rebuilding this o line(yet another year ..for a o line man jd is struggling getting quality linemen beside avt) new linebacking core ,free safety , & a backup qb(maybe a jacoby brissett)

The butt fumble was one play in a complete disaster of a game for the Jets. That play to end the Pats game was the dumbest decision Iâve ever seen and it cost them the game. That was even worse than the Joe Piscarcik play that lost a game for the Giants decades ago.

Probably one of the things I miss the most about living in the NY radio market is Joe "The Pain" Benigno melting down basically every Monday morning this time of year. New Yorkers, Connecticats, Jerseyites: realize that you have a GIFT in WFAN. Almost literally every other radio market in the country is TRASH when it comes to Sports Talk. The absolute best of the best on WFAN, in my experience.

I think he made a good point. The team wearing those Mike White shirts was unacceptable. Poor judgement by the players involved and if Mike White and Saleh were real leaders they would of asked them players to remove their shirts. In the name of the "Team"
I give Mike White a pass on that. He's stepping into a job surrounded by people who have been playing all year, he may not feel comfortable telling them what to do. And he's plenty supportive as it is.

Its really an overall problem with the NFL and 24/7 coverage of the sport in general. One week you're hot, the next you're not. Way too much analysis. All of it means nothing until playoff time.

Blaming the defense when they gave up ten points makes no sense. Yeah they got burned on the TD but a decent functioning offense wouldâve had more points on the board.

You're kidding Jimmy? The guy who can't stay on the field Jimmy? The guy who makes horrible throws that leads to INT'S. I think Jimmy is a fine QB, but his injury history and poor decision making at times should not be ignored. Plus he's 5 years older than Mike White.
White is younger, better arm and better leader on the field. Like Jimmy but he won't take the Jets to the promise land. Jimmy needs a much better team to succeed. Jets aren't there yet for someone like Jimmy anyways.

Joe b contradicts himself. One wk the defense is elite and now the defense is overrated.. The D held the lions to 13 PTS b4 that 51 yd TD. It was various problems yesterday especially Zach still not being able to hit simple throws and Lafleur needs to call plays for Zach outside the pocket. It's obvious that's where Zach makes his big plays. And can we see some screens and slant plays for Elijah Moore. When Elijah zigs defenders zag. Just concentrate on Garrett wilson and Moore bcuz our O line is terrible. They do not protect well and make no holes for the RBs
I'm a Lions fan. Our offense has been really good against most teams this year. The Jets defense is very good and shut us down most of the game. I would love to have your secondary.
It's laughable how the first thing he says is that Zach didn't lose the game. Fine. It certainly wasn't the defense. They didn't play their best game and gave up a backbreaking TD, but c'mon, they basically gave up 10 points in this game. That should be enough to win almost all the time in today's game. But once again the turnover battle is lost, a critical special teams TD was allowed and the clock was mismanaged late in another gut-wrenching loss.
All of that is most likely moot if this team could move the ball once in a while. Outside of the beautiful long TD pass to Uzomah everything was difficult. They had a number of chunk plays but they were all a combination of Zach going off-schedule and receivers making sparkling plays. That's better than the nonsense we saw in the second New England game, but still not sustainable. Wilson missed way too many open receivers.
Jets D really only gave up ten points. The other TD was a punt return and Zack lobbed up a pick that immediately put Detroit in FG range.
Beningo is wrong about the defense. They were missing Q and did enough to win. Not to mention Detroit has a top 5 offensive line.
We lost AVT and Hall and expects us to be the same.
You can not give up a 45 50 yard td when you have the lead with 2 minutes left.

Long time Lions fan here. This is the first time I've seen Joe and I love the guy. Joe, I feel your pain. We have dealt with 60 plus years of frustration in Detroit. You exemplify the classic Lions fan who is knowledgeable and recognizes buffoonery in your football team. I agree that you should start White until the playoffs are out of reach but then you need to go back to Wilson see what he has. Scheme your offense to his strengths. You can't give up on a #2 pick that quickly. If he doesn't respond by the end of next year, then trade him. As for the Lions, the city is going nuts and we are excited for the future, especially with the right GM and coach in place. We also have a ton of draft capital in 2023. Our defense is playing over their heads right now and it needs help badly in the secondary. I couldn't believe the plays we were giving up Sunday. Good luck the rest of the year. Maybe we'll see a Lions-Jets Super Bowl in 2024 or 2025?
They were playing the best offense in the NFL Jesus. Lions are ranked top 5 offense. Goff is top 6 QBR. This is a team that has played the Eagles, Dolphins, Cowboys, Bills and Vikings twice. And now the Jets D. All these teams will end up with atleast 10 wins this season. Some 15 wins. The defense kept the lions out of the end zone for 58 minutes.
Every team has injuries. Just look at your division rival in WNY. But losing Hall and AVT have KILLED the Jets.
And the sad part is that losing Hall for the season has borderline ruined the Jets offense and we don't know if Hall will ever come back the same player that he was.
Devastating loss for the Jets and it is one of the main reasons the Jets have slipped to 7-7.
AVT plus Brecton. I think most teams can deal with one loss to their OLine: it's the second (let alone the fourth) that kills you.

This is no surprise considering its coming from Tiki about Eli. Zach Wilson plays like he's a good athlete in some other sport like baseball who played football as a second sport. I agree that Zach is not mainly responsible for the loss, the truth is that there was plenty of blame to go around. That having been said, it should be said that the INT that Zach threw resulted in a fg by the opposition and in the end the Jets lost the game by 3 pts.
I talked to Elijah Moooooooaaaaahhhhhh after the game and he agreed that Zach was a disastah.

Most of the problems with the Jets are coach related. Wilson is not a qb for MLF's offense. If you're to stubborn to adapt to your qb's playing style then goodbye. 4th and inches and you go all in for no reason at all? Goodbye. Don't know how to call a timeout???????? We will never be successful with this type of coaching.
