La Marzocco Home presents Coffee Encounters: During this episode you will learn step by step how to do preventative maintenance and clean your linea mini.
Dear Jake, the reservoir needs to be cleaned periodically (once every 6 months to 1 year). Using always the proper water will ensure a less frequent cleaning cycle. To clean, first remove the water reservoir from the machine. Disconnect the clear plastic water intake hose (you can use a pliers to remove the metal clip). Hand wash each part with water containing mild soap.
@@LaMarzoccoHome thanks for the instructions. I have heard that it ruins the hose after taking it off and putting it back on a few times. Eventually it doesn’t fit well and has to be cut, but you will run out of the extra length. That’s a design flaw. How do we handle that?
@@nickkarnik9688 if removed and reinserted properly the lifespan of the hose is pretty long. Worst case scenario the pipe can be replaced from an authorized technician. Hope this helped :)
@@LaMarzoccoHome Thanks! Any chance you could do a video showcasing how to remove that hose and put it back on? It appears to be tight enough that removing it has damaged the seal for the people who've posted on reddit. La Marzocco should provide one annually because this is a crazy given that the machine costed ~$6000 USD.
Another good channel “Whole Latte Coffee” recommending cleaning once weekly or after using one bag of coffee 340 gr Are there any benefits backflushing espresso machine every single day, except keeping at clean ! Thank you for explaining proper cleaning procedure.
@@temych4444 👍🏼 For me, backflashing *depends how many coffees we have, twice per week. Cleaning Filtration basket 3 x per week I think cleaning every single day is must for Coffee shops but not for regular home users.
I saw this in the manual, "This cleaning schedule is based upon a moderate to average use (20-300) cups per day. If machine use is less than moderate then this schedule may be adjusted accordingly." 20 to 300 is still a huge gap tho. But 1 to 2 weeks seems reasonable
I still can't stand the fact that the official La Marzocco channel honestly recommends (twice in the video!) to do a full cleaning cycle EVERY DAY for a home appliance. They can't be serious?
For home use, surely everyday is way too much
More time cleaning than making!
One time every month is sufficient for home use
Daily cleaning is the best way to sell more cleaning solution.
Finally we can have official video how to clean Linea Mini! Thanks a lot!
Thanks guys. Very valuable to the whole LMLM community.
Thank you for watching! Any questions we are here to help :)
Thank you.
Where can I buy the special screwdriver? Thank you
Backflush every day? I would understand for commercial use, but home use too? Every day?
It’s too much every day
Great video! Very informative. How often should the water reservoir be cleaned, and what is the best way to disconnect it from the supply hose?
I have the exact same question. Not so much how frequently, but how do we get it out? It’s crazy that we can’t really wash it.

SO MUCH better now with the auto backflush programming on the mobile app.
Ahhhh thank you! Just found this feature 👍
Sto per ordinare una linea micra. Ho trovato il cacciavite a coppa ma non trovo lo strumento per togliere il gasket....mi porto avanti...😅
Where can I get that brush from? Thanks!
Dear Mike, please refer to your local distributor for enquiries.

Thank you for explaining proper cleaning procedure.
As for me I clean my Linea Mini once a week. I use it at home only.

@@anupjsebastian Yes... for me, after 16-20 coffees cleaning is ideal for good taste.
How do you recommend to clean the steam wand?
wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth after every use and purge the steam wand before and after every use :)
This is why I bought a Cafelat Robot.
Seriously, I love the look of the LMLM but I hate cleaning.
Perhaps you wouldn’t need to change the metal shower plate every year if you didn’t use corrosive cleaning solution every day.

Surely there’s no way a home espresso machine requires 15 minute cleaning procedure every day?
Dear Ahmet, we suggest doing it every day because whenever you make coffee, coffee residuals that have built up can affect the quality in your cup.
More like 30 minutes. I find it insane that they think you need to remove the shower screen EVERY DAY.
@@LaMarzoccoHome Do you also suggest discarding a shot of espresso each time you backflush?
