Fasting for 12 hours is certainly not enough.. its just an intermediate or gradual state so we prepare our body for the eventual good fasting window which is minimum 14 hrs ..ideally 16 hours to 18 hours..

Hello Doctor Pal, I like your videos and quite impressed by your knowledge of the medical field.
I would like to consult with you about my current situation. I am at a point where I believe I may have a unique situation:
I have continuous loud belching after eating food that continues intermittently for a good 12hrs irrespective, of what I eat and I don’t hungry for hours after a meal.
It has come to a point where this gas from belching gets trapped in my oesophagus and causing discomfort in my sleep and my lifestyle.
No acid or food comes up, no heartburn, no cramps or pain, no constipation; Just gas/air with no smell.
I’ve seen a gastro specialist who performed endoscopy, breath test, CT Scan of my liver and other related organs. The breath test resulted in high hydrogen and my liver had high enzyme activity. Other than that, it is all normal.
I’ve got treated for SIBO with antibiotics and for excess acidity with various drugs such as Omeprazol, Pantaprazole, Dexilant to no effect.
Can you shed some light on the possible causes and treatments?

@@foodandtravelmnj7869 Cut down all processed foods. I have carbonaught bread (net carbs is 2g per slice of bread) for breakfast. Cut down rice from daily diet and used miracle rice instead. Organic tofu for protein with lots of greens, cruciferous vegetables and Avocadoes. My daughter managed the diet for me. Each person is different. Back then my sugar levels were high too. My body could handle only 20 to 25 grams of carbs per meal. The diet was followed to bring my sugar levels down and the following blood tests after 3 months not only brought my sugar levels to normal but also revealed that my fatty liver symptoms were gone with this diet. I don't know if this type of low carb is sustainable in the long run but it definitely helped with a lot of issues I had. I am slowly incorporating healthier carbs with lots of fiber into the diet.

Diabetes is also a concern in reference to glucose and fructose metabolism in patients with fatty liver.
My husband ,a diabetic on medication,69 yo died(two years ago) with stage 4 Hepatocellular cancer due to asymptomatic scarred fibrosed nodular cirrhosed liver -until his body decompensated into ascites ++++[just within 7 days of stomach ache and did not survive for even two months ,thereafter.
His SGPT/ALT was just 40 on the day he died. !(New normals for ALT -19/20 for females and 25 for males.,is it Dr Pal?
As obese are not alerted ,either ultrasound of liver /ALT is advisable,right?-
I ask as my one son is obese & another concern for is that ,I-fear how to diagnose TOFI(thin on the outside and fat on the inside (ie liver fat) in Asymptomatic cases .

I think consuming good fats will reduce bad fats..one doctor advised me to increase my good cholestrol by consuming almonds, a2 cow ghee (one or two spoons per day not more than that) and don't consume cashew if u are diabetic...this is what the doctor told .body to body is different...plz check good fats and consume in moderation..

There is a direct relationship between blood cholesterol and fatty liver. You can have statins to reduce your blood cholesterol but it will not solve your liver problems. Liver was under stress that’s why it releases more fat cells in blood stream. Just brisk walking alone fir 1-2 hours daily can regulate your blood cholesterol levels if you are not over eating n eating healthy
Then a low carb diet can reverse your grade-2 fatty liver in 3 months or so
Reducing 10% body fat in short term helps

Thanks doc, very much informative ❤.
One of my concern here is, my mom (63) being diabetic using insulin injection 10units in the morning and 16units at night along with Glycomet 250mg, Reclide MR-60.
She has fatty liver too since 5yrs, but it is not troubling her as of now.
However her diabetic is not under control because of her eating habits. She consumes more quantity sometimes and at times she eats less.
My uncle died bcz of cirrhosis last year, he was a chronic alcoholic patient.
Now my fear is about my mom, as she is diabetic, also has fatty liver, how can she get reverse of her fatty liver?
Plz do consider posting few statements for diabetic patients as they are hypoglycemic often and cannot put them on fasting window of 12hrs or whatsoever.

Sometimes the point is not to become healthy n live long it can be good to lead a happy life. Let her be the way shes happy n try n make her feel good. Later u can focus on diabetes n all. There r seperate diets to reverse diabetes replacing entire meal plan with only fruits n veggies (diabetic friendly ones of course).
Spend time with her take her out if possible for walks.

    • @sumanag
      @sumanag Před rokem +17

Good question 👍🏾 Raw rice, dal and other groceries that we buy in packets are not processed. Processed food refers to food that is made ready to eat or you have to cook that a little more after getting it home. Examples would be cookies, chips, noodles, ready-to-eat food packets, frozen food etc In order to preserve the food for a longer shelf life, lot of salt and preservatives are added. That is why processed food is not good for health. Better to eat food cooked at home 🙏🏽

Processed foods are pretty much everything that is already packaged in a mass production industry especially those with numerous ingredients continents or unnecessarily added fructose sugars. However; not all are created equal example like packed meat & sardines are not necessarily bad for you ; even though a preferable approach is if it is freshly harvested foods, but in this day in age that isn’t practical

      Carbs are the culprit
Remove rice and roti out of diet
Eat cooked vegetables and fresh fruits and not juices, eat lean boiled or grilled meat and eggs
