  • Dr Paul Chazot is Senior Lecturer at Durham University’s Biophysical Sciences Institute, where he has been researching novel treatments for the major pathologies of the nervous system.
Currently, Paul is working on a ground-breaking infrared light therapy that has the potential to help people with dementia, involving a specially adapted medical device that delivers infrared light deep into the brain, triggering nerve cell repair and increasing blood flow to the brain.
Dr Chazot is also the University lead for the Durham University spin-out company Nevrargenics, who have developed exciting new drug leads (RAR-M) for a range of neurodegenerative diseases.

it's kind of important to mention why it works, maybe they didn't know back then, but essentially it helps mitochondria function and increases blood flow. So perhaps they need reclassify Alzheimer's as brain cell mitochondria disfunction and approach treatments that way.

czcams.com/video/LwXszYVNwa4/video.html Please to your own research. I must say, after taking Methylene Blue for one week and not only has my sprained wrist healed much faster, but I definitely already see a difference in my cognitive function. The other thing I can not stress enough, is distilling your own water at home. I have two distillers and 15 one gallon glass jugs and one huge mason jar that I store it. I prefer keeping them on the cool tile all year, as we don't need ice. Though, lol my husband does make ice out of the distilled water.
There is hope with using these... Don't give up, do it yourself and share your wonderful results with others. My only complaint is that I didn't learn about all these modalities 20 and others I still practice years ago.
      God Bless

I believe in the Leaky gut, leaky brain theory a bit too. I also think that mercury and heavy metals are a contributor, then that sometimes seems to attract a candida gut overgrowth, or some other things can lead to leaky gut which for some people and toxins or bacteria whole proteins possibly gut through the gut wall causing them to be recognised as something that shouldn't be there. causing inflammation. This could be why coconut oil and water high in silica seem to help. People who are trying to detoxify from mercury toxicity recommend infra red saunas,..to help to remove toxins, heavy metals. Sadly often some of the best researchers and those who find effective treatment often seem to often be ignored or worse.

I did a lot of things like improving her diet, cutting out gluten, going organic, exercise along with a lot of other things and when her GP asked me what was the one single thing that I thought made the difference I couldn’t give the right answer because I didn’t know though I thought it was from eating lots of organic apples which also helped to get her cadmium levels down. Now nine years later she has declined at half the normal rate but now I know it’s most likely the sun light that she was getting here In sunny Australia during our daily bush walks. It seems that treating the bowels with infra red dramatically improves gut health which may also help a number of neurological conditions, trials are in place at this time.

So wait why isn’t the Alzheimer’s Association funding a study using this tech??? Couldn’t cost too much. Give one of those helmets to 100 different Alzheimer wards of nursing homes and use it on half the patients for 8-12 weeks, or heck 4-6 months, and see what happens.
The cynic in me worries that big pharma is funding the Alzheimer’s association and would threaten to drop funding if they study non pharma modalities to fight the disease. You can’t patent a wavelength of light.

Yes, the problem is that any wavelength of energy such as light or sound is interpreted by your nervous system as instructions. Constantly subjecting someone to one specific wavelength of light will cause dysautonomia (nervous system dysfunction where the nervous gives instructions to enter the wrong state at the wrong time) in the longterm if it is not balanced with other wavelengths.

Don't know but fyi, there was a published paper 5-10 yrs ago detailing a small study of peope with Parkinson's. The goal of the study was to demonstrate whether the regular use of light boxes that have been well established as helping people with seasonal affective disorder (SAD) would similarly help alleviate depression commonly seen as part of Parkinson's. Yes, it did. Gratifying, though expected. The fascinating thing they noticed is that so many patients were excitedly reporting that their motor (movement) function had improved with the light box therapy too! It also helps with getting a restful sleep, often a problem for people living with Parkinson's (and that's potentially due to restless legs inaddition to the depression and I imagine the inability to trun in bed, ie shift one's position around in bed/shift one's weight).
Sorry can't recall the journal that published the study. I think it was only a couple dozen patients but worth a try. Same light wavelengths as typically used in treatment of SAD. (NOT infrared.) Extremely important that people not look directly into the light box - damaging to eyes potentially. And one needs to gradually increase duration of light exposure but less than an hour a day at peak or can cause other side effects.

Forgot to mention, and if a person CAN walk/exercise more, then that could logically help protect against cognitive deficits of Alzheimer's/potentially help roll them back some. Would get ahold of Dr. John Ratey's book Spark for an explanation as to how exercise helps cognition. It stimulates production of BDNF, brain-derived neurotrophic factor if I remember right. Ratey called it "Miracle Grow of the brain". And/or read neurologist's Dale Bredesen MD's book the End of Alzheimer's or the more recent followup The First Survivors of Alzheimer's or watch some of his interviews here on You Tube. Some of what applies to the brain in Alz's will also apply to the brain in Parkinson's.
