    I love what you said about Hair being energy! The Bible talks about this with Samson and his hair! God told him that his hair was his sense of power!!! Also why I LOVEEE curlsmith products because they have a bible verse on the back of all their products 😍

    Thanks again for an amazing video! Honesty is the best policy, and that is what a TRUE influencer is! You just keep telling us the TRUTH and it cannot get better than that! My hair is thinning and yes; that is why I stopped doing my tight buns! My hair doesn’t like it! I’m also learned to know what my hair likes and doesn’t like! And yes; I also agree hair is energy! You are just on point with ALL of it! Thanks again! Stay blessed!

    Thank you for the video! And totally agree with everything you said! I had long hair growing up and due to the heat damage and Keratin treatment (which I hate to this day) caused me...I struggled so much. I tried to transition for a while until I did a big chop in 2016 and my hair did grew but not to my desired/original length.! However, I did started focusing health now its just a matter of retaining my length and slowly but surely get my curls shoulder length! I do believe genetics plays a role! Unfortunately, hair growth is not so strong in my family but I'm learning everyday to choose HEALTH over Length.

    • @curlelia
      @curlelia  Před 2 lety +2

      You're so welcome! Health over length will forever be something I live by moving forward. After getting a chop you really realize nothing is better than having your curls all at one texture and all healthy. I think people forget how much genetics play a role on growth. It's easy to try to force products on people, but that can only do so much. & I remember the keratin/heat damage days. I'm happy we're both on the other end of that ❤️

    Thanks for sharing your story ! I’m sure it will inspire some that are discouraged in their natural journey because it is. For decade with didn’t t know how to take of our hair. For many relaxing their hair was it. With CZcams and people sharing their hair journey in beginning in 2010 (relaxed or natural ) it has giving us opportunities to share and learned new ways. It’s ok to be inspired but everybody has different hair and it’s important to accept that.

    I have been a lazy natural for going on 20 years, lol. I blow dry and flat iron my hair all the time. I get no heat damage... BUT, I did get heat damage once from going to the Dominicans. I think they put something suspect in the shampoo and conditioner which made my hair exactly like what u described, lol, curly, straight, curly!!! I did not do a big chop, I just trimmed and did pink rollers until my curls sang again. Like you say in your videos that hair growth is mainly genetics. My hair grows fast without doing anything extra, hence lazy natural. Just cut my middle of back hair again to above my shoulders because it's a chore to maintain. Don't no how u do it and not scream!!!

  • @Barnes247
    @Barnes247 Před 2 lety

    Do you feel like wash and go’s cause more single strand knots? Also, my wash and go’s no longer seem to last because on day 2 my curls are smashed and look awful. SoI literally feel like I have to re-wet it for it to look good. I believe my hair is low porosity, medium density, fine, type 3c everywhere except the crown which I believe is 4a. Just did a second big chop because it fell out after I had covid. It is back thick and healthy since I cut it 5 days ago but on the shorter side now. Any recommendations would be awesome! I’m watching all your wonderful videos and thank you!!! ♥️🙏🏽

    My number 1 tip is to stop listening to old fashioned family members who don’t see the beauty of natural hair. Those people will make you feel as though you have to relax your hair or you have to have braids or else you won’t be cute. Their negativity will only cause setbacks.

  • @TheAriannajojo
    @TheAriannajojo Před 2 lety +2

    This may be a dumb question but how do you know if your hair has heat damage? Like how did the middle section of your hair look in comparison to the rest? Also your shirt is life!!!

    • @jayjinnelle9640
      @jayjinnelle9640 Před 2 lety +1

      Hi love, I experienced heat damage at one point and I will say that a big red flag is definitely a shift in texture. My curls are more 4a and as I experienced heat damage they would fall as if they were 3c with no mix. The elasticity will definitely change. I hope this helps :)

    • @TheAriannajojo
      @TheAriannajojo Před 2 lety +1

      @@jayjinnelle9640 it does, thanks! Even though I’m new to my natural hair journey, I think I managed to avoid damage because I was lazy with straightening too lol. But I def wanna be able to tell for sure

    • @curlelia
      @curlelia  Před 2 lety +2

      Not a dumb question at all. You can tell you have heat damage when your curl is like straight and doesn't curl like the rest of your hair. Another indicator is if your hair growing in from your roots a completely different curl pattern from the shaft of your hair (like completely opposite)- that could mean heat damage! You'll definitely see the difference I feel- do you still add heat to your hair?
