From Chile to Ecuador: My Journey & What's Next?

- In this video I will share how was my first time moving to chile country and my experience of moving out from Chile to now living in Quito city in Ecuador country.
I was born in Wisconsin milwaukee and in 2015 i moved to chile for the first time. Without knowing a word of Spanish Language. I had to struggle but as the time passed my love for chile kept growing and then comes the time when we had to leave chile. I was heartbroken. Then i moved out from chile to a quito Ecuador.
I also discussed about the future of this channel.

Hola Jon! te sigo hace bastante tiempo, pero no comento mucho... Me dio mucha pena cuando se tuvieron que ir de Chile, lamento que nuestras autoridades tengan tan poco criterio y no les hayan permitido seguir viviendo en nuestro país, cuando ustedes son la clase de personas que necesitamos en estos tiempos difíciles para Chile... La vida es así! una constante evolución!! llena de cambios y nuevos desafíos! espero y deseo de todo corazón que sigas disfrutando la vida junto a tu hermosa familia! y que el destino te traiga nuevamente a estas tierras en sur del mundo...! En otro video vi tambien que una chilena con esposo ingles tuvieron que irse porque tampoco le renovaron la visa, creo que los merluzos estan saboteando Chile desde todos lados, primero expulsando a los buenos extranjeros y dejando todo lo malo

Milwaukee, you say. I was born in the opposite corner of Wisconsin, Superior where my mother was from. But I grew up across the border in Minnesota where my father was from.

Wow Jon I was scared when you started you video with "the worst day of my life"! then I realized it was moving to Chile and not knowing the language or anything. I really, really understand you, because years ago we went to live in Germany, and I didn't know anything about anything! it took me a year to learn the language. I'm so glad and excited for you with you future projects!👏🏻👏🏻 can't wait to see them! I think traveling Latin America and showing us your perspective, is a great idea! Right now we are neighbors and share Lake Michigan! Have fun with your family, friends and your 'roots.' Wisconsin must be beautiful, never been there, but my guess is that is similar to Michigan. Hola Jon! Me alegra saber que están bien. Siempre veo tus historias por Instagram, veo como muestras el proceso de crecer de Moisés y de como el se siente chileno. Veo sus entrenamientos de fútbol a veces con la camiseta de la selección chilena. Moisés es chileno, nació en Chile y me acuerdo cuando estabas sorprendido al recibir de ragalo el ajuar para el bebé, mostraste todo lo que traía de regalo, estabas muy sorprendido de recibir y muy agradecido.
Se les extraña muchísimo Jon.. Esos paseos qué dabas junto a Elisse y Moisés, mostrando paisajes maravillosos.
Espero que vuelvan a Linares, a Chile y vuelvas a comer la marraqueta (pan batido para los nortinos) hallullas, pan amasado o las tortillas de rescoldo con unos ricos huevos de campo revueltos.
Espero verlos de vuelta, ojalá que Dios les permita volver a Chile.

Hola Jon, que bueno escucharte y ver que compartes nuestro amor por Chile, pero además te cuento que nací y estudié en Linares y que también estuve un años en Wisconsin, no tan lejos de tu hogar. Me alegro que sea para ti una gran experiencia.
Hola Jon, me alegra saber que están bien y que recuerdas con tanto cariño a nuestro querido Chile, te aconsejo que por el momento no vuelvas por estos lados, ya que estamos viviendo un período muy crítico debido a la delincuencia, portonazos, y en especial a secuestros y alevosos asesinatos que se están haciendo muy frecuentes en el país. yo creo que en todos los países estamos viviendo un tiempo de delincuentes. Espero una solución tanto en Ecuador como en Chile!!! No podemos esperar volver un día!

Quiero contarles una anecdota, tengo un profesor de ingles de turquia que no tiene idea de Chile, él quiere visitar sudamerica y su idea es Brasil, patagonia (en el sur de argentina) , peru y colombia, mientras en las clases iba comentando cosas de Chile, él buscaba algo de informacion para ocupar en la siguiente clase.....hasta que un dia, como él no habla español, se me ocurrió compartirle unos videos tuyos y quedo sorprendido de Chile, no sabia nada y ahora quiere visitarlo si o si.....gracias Jon por hacer conocido nuestro país, ojala vuelvas algun dia

Hi Jon !! It is still sad to me knowing what happened to you and your family. Having to leave Chile because of some stupidity from the government processes. I always loved your content, how you shared your experiences from this part of the world and showing the differences from the ones you grew with.
It is a shame that this happened to you, an honest migrant with an honest and beautiful family but on the other hand there are others committing crimes, and they have issues with sending them back to their countries, a very sick politic scenario, we are living unfortunately in the "upside down" at this moment.
I'm glad to see, though, that you and your family are doing well and that are overcoming the challenges that moving to a new country have meant and hope the very best for all of you.
I would love to see you in the future back in Chile, but with the experience you had, I would not blame you or your wife if it's not in your plans to risk going over all of it again. But just wanted to share with you how I felt about it as a viewer, and how much I enjoyed your content.

Hello Jon! Greetings from the cold Linares, it gets colder every day as winter approaches. The mountains are covered in snow from a recent storm and we are expecting another one tonight. Dogs still roam the city streets and traffic is worse than ever, but still livable, I miss to see you on your one wheel riding around the city. Not much has changed here, we are resisting while these bad times pass, I hope it will be soon. Best regards Jon!

Ji Jon. Good to know about you... I hope you find the place for you and your family. I lived in USA for 9 years, tough years, I'm Chilean and my english was very... very poor. So I empathize with you and your struggles. I came back to Chile and it was the best decision ever. If one day the conditions change, Chile will be there... and you'll have a place here. If it is not the case, I'm sure the place for you is exactly where you are. See you :)
I'm sure we will be back some day. It's like you feel it in your bones that you belong in Chile and you are pulled to return one day. I can't wait for us to return!

wena Jon. acabo de ver Wisconsin, es mega bella ciudad y su paisajes increibles, ciertamente tiene un aire al sur de chile guardando las proporciones de lo que es USA. Que te movio salir de alli de esa zona confortable , en el caso de nosotros hace una años hemos ido a parar a Moncton Canada zona de habla inglesa, no por necesidad economica sino por aprender mas de la tecnologia y el idioma

@@JonGrossGringo especificamente mi hermano su esposa y la dos chicas de 8 y 11 años ,cumplir los requisitos legales es caricimo las pruebas de ingles y el ingreso a la U. no hay mas chilenos alli ,en el sentido que nosotros los chilenos no emigramos, pero nosotros si tenemos el alma emigratoria estamos repartidos entre suecia ,noruega, canada y españa, en mi caso me cuesta despegarme de chile. Esas naciones top lo tienen todo pero chile no que se queda atras pienso. AL FINAL AMAS A TODO EL MUNDO

Hi Jon.!! Im a Chilean living in Portland OR. I understand perfectly what you when trough when you move to Chile without know any Spanish. For me was really hard to integrate in Unites States. I was put to work two weeks later in a very demanding job where nobody speak English.! We will love to have you and your family back to Chile its where you should be.! Linares waiting for you.!!

It's insane how much Argentina is changing with the currency. Honestly. It changed so much just day to day while I was there!!! Something that hasn't changed in months is the fact that going to the money exchange places on calle florida is going to be the best exchange rate you will find.

Hey! Nice! Thanks for your comment! We had to leave because of my wife's visa issues in Chile. We tried for five years to get her a visa and she never could get it. After so many years of uncertainty we had to leave just for peace of mind and not having to worry about getting kicked out. It's hard to plant your life somewhere that you don't know if you will be able to live in permanently. It was sad to go but we hope to return and get permanent visas!

El mundo ha cambiado tanto en estos últimos años, y muchos de esos cambios han sido para mal, da pena que gente buena que llega a llenar espacios en tu vida, se valla y ya no exista la sensación de sentirlos como un coterráneo mas.
