Pillow Talk Trailer - Directed by Michael Gordon and starring Rock Hudson, Doris Day, Tony Randall, Thelma Ritter, Nick Adams. Interior decorator Jan Morrow and composer Brad Allen share a phone line. Brad keeps the line occupied all day talking to his girlfriends, which annoys Jan terribly and animosity between them builds up. They however have never met and when by chance Brad sees Jan, he decides to add her to his list of conquests. Knowing however how she feels about him, he poses as an innocent Texan country boy named Rex Stetson to win her, a plan which seems to work.

Actress and singer Doris Day made nearly three dozen films and more than 600 recordings. At the height of her career, she topped both the billboard and the box office charts. Day died of pneumonia this morning, May 13, 2019 at the age of 97.

So much fun from a world gone by so remote from this one. A pleasure the revisit the sweet dispositions of the late 50's.

Doris Day is really a natural beauty! Reminds me of Catherine Deneuve.
I'm too young to have seen any of her films from their debuts...but what a beautiful woman and she aged so well. God Speed Doris Day.

Saw this last night on DVD. Part of a 4 film 'Funny Ladies' collection with 'Bringing Up Baby', 'His Girl Friday' & 'Bell, Book & Candle'. It's a slight film, but the charm of Hudson, Day, Randall & Ritter is what makes it work. How many Day/Hudson/Randall films were there: I remember at least one other. Hudson was a really likeable lead actor.

Well I read that 'Pillow Talk' was considered pretty risque and a lot of studios wouldn't touch it. I agree though that the film is wholesome (even for that time) and it's hard to understand why it was considered it would turn out to be anything except a feel good film with a lot of charm.

There are three Day/Hudson/Randall romantic comedies: Pillow Talk (1959), Lover Come Back (1961), and Send Me No Flowers (1964). Pillow Talk is by far the best of the three, then Send Me No Flowers, and Lover Come Back in last. What I don't like about Lover Come Back is that is mocks the plot of Pillow Talk. Why watch one and then the other? Watch Pillow Talk, that'll satisfy you. They sure don't make wholesome movies like this anymore. It's a shame. All we have are these terrible reality shows.

"Why watch one and then the other?"
Because she's still with Hudson and Randall, the dialogue's still cool and the situations are still funny. I see your point but both films are fun.
Then again, maybe my POV has something to do with the fact I saw Send Me No Flowers and Lover Come Back when they were first released and then had to wait for Pillow Talk's second run.

Hollywood suction cup kisses of the olden days. Who kissed like that?! I always wondered when I was a little boy how it was like to kiss like that... I later found out that it wasn't at all enjoyable that way! At least not as much as they made it out to look. I like a lot of tongue action and lip munching...
