    A CEO that isn’t a psychopath, a pleasant surprise, we need more like him.

    • @vinchinzo594
      @vinchinzo594 Před 11 měsíci

      They're all over the place. Stop buying into the narrative of "ceo = money hungry psychopath". It's a false narrative. It applies sometimes, let me explain. When you have that image in your head, what you're really imagining are Fortune 500 companies that have CEOs who had nothing to do with the founding of the company. Those CEOs are usually brought in after the company is already publicly traded on the stock market and the company itself has been sold. Now those companies sole function is to generate stock value for shareholders. This is where the greed and money-hunger comes in.
      The CEO of a small business is typically the founder of the business. Starting a business does not in any way, shape, or form indicate greed or psychopathy. These are the folks that literally built the world around you that you get to live in while criticizing them inside of an ignorant, baseless, fact-less echo chamber perpetuating this false narrative.
      It's something you heard, and are now regurgitating without ever having seriously thought about the issue. Don't be that guy.

      Great he made 1 worker in his massive company better. But he didn't fix any of the problems that made his worker get 2 jobs or financially suffer. In the end there are no good ceos. Even this one had to have a camera in his face to do the right thing. If workers actually could elect their ceos maybe their would be some accountability.

      It's sad that some companies hire people that do not belong in that position. I was a Senior Team Lead at American Recovery and assisted in about 100 interviews just for customer service people. The 15 people that I went to bat for, which nobody else had high on their list all got hired and all were still employed by the company when I left (approx 4-6 years that I had input on hiring). I made a heck of a talent scout and you can tell by what people say whether or not they are good people. If they just come at me with normal answers that they got online to say before the interview I would check to see if they were nervous. You can tell all from sweat, stuttering, body language ect ect. Around a 1/3rd of the people I went to bat for were very nervous, and usually it means that they don't want to mess up because they REALLY WANT that job. The ones that sound like they do interviews every day and are too comfortable I take another look at their work history to see how long they are at each position.

    • @littlekyle
      @littlekyle Před rokem +175

      @@gb342002 The answer is stated in the opening of each show!!! A head up of the company, usually the CEO, will pretend to be an entry level worker with a once in a lifetime opportunity to try out all of the positions within a certain career path (whatever his/her company does - mail delivery, fast food, septic, road cleaning, etc.)... everybody training the boss knows they are on camera because they think they are a part of a show trying to discover which entry level job suits the "newbie" best. That is why they do not question the cameras and are not suspicious - also why nobody gets sued for filming without permission. At the end of the show, all of the people who trained the undercover boss meet up at the company's headquarters in order to give their personal opinion on whether or not they think he/she can do whatever job they trained the boss in. That is when they find out it was the CEO the entire time!!! It is both funny and nerve wracking because sometimes their cover is blown. It is always a bit exhilarating when a worker asks, "Am I on Undercover Boss?" Like - what do they do now? Anyways, I know youtube only has highlights from the show. That is why I thought I would explain the opening and how that all works. I hope you have a beautiful day!!! God created you with love and purpose. Maybe- and don’t think I’m attacking you- you didn’t understand the real purpose of that conversation. The way you describe it that “we had been going through changes in our shop,” then the boss’s Number 2 shows up and you “discussed the pros and cons of the changes,” sounds a lot like you misunderstood what was happening. Changes were being made. It wasn’t a discussion they wanted. They came to tell you how things were changing and what the benefits were, and that turned into an apparent discussion of pros and cons, which means you were disagreeing with the direction they planned to take the company in. Or it was the other way and you were carrying out changes that they saw cons in but you argued for the pros. Either way, it sounds a lot like they sent the boss’s right hand man over to make sure you were on board, and you “gave your opinion.” Sorry, but when you’re not in charge sometimes that’s not what they’re looking for. They want an employee, not a business partner. Every employee’s opinion on how the business should be run isn’t that important. If they get let go over it, it probably wasn’t the first time an “opinion” was being shared that your bosses were not happy with. Sometimes, just saying, you have to do what your boss asks without talking back to them.

    • @jayjonah2762

      @@Tmb1112 he asked for our opinions on the changes. and the reality of it was he wanted us to keep between 800-1000 of our products packaged and ready to ship. they are not small products, a pallet would hold 22-30 of them and you can't stack the pallets. the storage area we were given to store those products would only hold about 15 pallets, and was shared with another department. that was the only CON I had mentioned. I wasn't arguing with anything, the only thing I stated was we needed more storage space to keep the number on hand that was desired. And if you're a boss, and you don't want to actually know peoples opinions, then don't ask. I love the company that I had been working for, it was fantastic. The bigger company that bought it was your typical corporate crap everyone has to put up with. Owner promised everyone raises, no one got them, promised stock incentive, never given out, straight up lying to employees. Even made the claim "if you work here for more than ten years I'll make you a millionaire". It is what it is and I'm happier now that I don't have to deal with it. And to the point you were making, yes I know, most bosses just want "yes" men that don't ever question them.

    This sort of stuff warms my heart and makes the tears otherwise familiar with sadness and pain, to be of warmth and infectious joy.
    I am very grateful these types of people continue to prosper.

    So I am crying... We are literally inundated with a lot of what is going wrong with the world. Then there are moments like this, where good people are being seen, acknowledged and valued in a tangible way that will improve their lives. A great video.

    The man who does the hardest work but could also chat all day (very educated) was left speechless. 🥰

    Treat your employees well, and they'll probably work harder and stay with you a long time.
    Turnover, is very expensive!

    This is so heartwarming...more bosses need to go back to the start so they can feel what there employees that are loyal go through just to stay afloat... success is not on a spreadsheet it's good people just trying to survive staying loyal ....in the end we deserve to be rewarded and our overall concerns taken seriously
