Hey Titus, I can totally relate to everything you said, after 5 years for me on CZcams the growth can be ebbs and flows for sure and can get depressing at times. Be true to yourself, do things YOUR way when you can. You can always take time off and knock out a bunch of videos you’re proud of and when you’re ready, just upload the completed videos one each day for a week. That just might give you the motivation to jump back in head first. I have a full time career, family, kids and film documentaries on the side so I know CZcams can be a time sucker as most have no idea of the work /time involved to create your videos. Only found your channel recently but I appreciate the announcement. I hope whatever path you choose, may you find happiness for you and your family! Also if you stick with the channel decide to go a different route for content, the literal name of your channel can be whatever you want it to be. Search for what makes your life awesome and build your channel around that. Tech tip videos, reviews about movies, different fandoms discussions or cooking recipes or whatever. Regardless of what your decision is, do what makes you happy! Take care!

Wishing you the very best. Sometimes we just hit a wall and the solution is to step back and think about how to get past it instead of continuing to ram into it and not breaking through. Maybe the solution is instead of focusing on the area of the niche that is so dependent on being simultaneously current, focus on what is evergreen about the niche, something that people will keep wanting to know 5 weeks,5 months, and 5 years from now and making content on those things as entertaining as possible

I've been where you are right now and I wish you all the freedom the time away will give you. The world is too full of cutthroat tactics and hustle and there's a beauty you can choose to give yourself by doing what you're doing now. Every other tech channel of your quality is working with teams of hired people, with ridiculous sponsors and business enterprises of their own and I've always admired you for your approach in light of the established scene. Keeping up on your own while overseeing every segment of production in this day and age isn't a fair race, and there's no doubt whatsoever that your happiness and joy in what you make matters more than fooling oneself into a manufactured rat race you could never win. So enjoy the time you're choosing to reclaim, and I hope you find the creative outlet you're searching for and find it just for yourself. I'll be here to see it when you want to share.

this is exactly why i stopped making videos. It just wasn't fun anymore, and as a small channel why keep doing it if the channel isn't having insane growth and it's not enjoyable.
Man this sucks. Your channel is one of my favorite smaller tech channels. Only you know what's best for you but... It sounds like you got burned out for trying to make this a second job while you have a full time job already. Maybe it would help you if you went back to the way it was? A lot of people like myself don't care about the reviews being late. A lot of people wait for the dust to settle on new electronics before we buy anyway. Another thing is that you mentioned doing something else on CZcams. Your channel name is "The Search For Awesome" not "The Search For Awesome Tech". I'll watch whatever you post bro. If you enjoy what you're doing, it really comes through in the videos and that's what makes the videos a joy to watch. Take your time but if/WHEN you come back, we'll be here for ya.

I completely relate to this. I actually post videos often on my Instagram page, but I do it for fun. The thing is that I don't have time to maintain my page and keep up with my full time job at the same time so I'm completely burnt out. I'm considering taking a break from my Instagram. It's really not worth it especially because I'm not getting paid for it.
When you're doing something that's part-time and for fun it's completely different than doing something that's full-time with a salary. I'm sure you're getting paid on your channel unlike mine, but it can't be a lot of money and I'm sure you're putting more into it than you're getting out of it. I think that's basically what you were trying to explain in this video. I'm at a point with my page where I'm putting a lot more into it than I'm getting out of it and it's resulting in complete burnout.

Fitness and basketball are some of my biggest passions and the basketball courts are closed in my area. I also hate working out in the cold weather especially since I have asthma. I'm planning on making some major changes in my life during the spring because what I'm doing right now obviously isn't working.

I can see why you would no longer want to post when you have a full time job and a daughter to look after. A lot of these tech youtubers do it full time which must be very difficult. Your videos are the best tech quality videos I have seen and you come across as a genuinely lovely person and I trust your judgement unlike some of the others. Im a recent sub, but am sad to see you go as you seem like a nice guy. I'd like to make a few constructive criticisms from my perspective of an avid tech yt watcher, some being what you said yourself. First is the padding you do in your videos (to hit 10 min I assume). Lots of repeating the same points. Also it seems like you're afraid to piss off the crowd by taking a strong poisition on something. For example your recent Stadia video seemed to tow the line directly down the middle so by the end you basically said nothing. Every point you made would be followed by a counterpoint rendering your perspective nutralized. What I look for in the sea of tech videos is not how frequently someone posts or how quick after a release they post, but a unique voice/perspective/spin, and you seem to try and avoid that because you might piss off some fanboy I guess? I hope when you come back you bring more of your voice and perspective for people to see! Also maybe more graphics and b-roll would be nice too 😉. Come back soon!
Hey thanks for the input! I hear you. It’s tough, I like to get my points across and try to be fair because there is always another point of view. Also my first stadia video pissed a lot of people off and I don’t disagree with my points in that vid, but I felt some points people brought up were valid so I was trying to be fair by doing a follow up video. It shocked me how many people were team stadia. Repeating myself is a flaw of mine. I’ll work on it if I make videos in the future. Thanks for the support :)
