I have no frame of reference for what the hell Blobby is (I've since Googled it) but the mere fact that Jack brings it up at 46:20 and then it fuckin' shows up at the very end, and the hilarity that ensues, is the funniest thing I've seen this year and makes me wish we got TV like this in Canada.
When I saw the first mention of him earlier in the show, I looked at your comment and thought you were mental. Then it got to the part where he came out and I nearly passed out laughing.
Ikr? This show is hilarious! I like that they're all just cracking jokes and having a good time and putting down stupid answers. Where as the ones in the US are all so serious :)
The term you're looking for is 'panel show'! The UK has plenty of proper serious game shows as well, but panel shows use the format as a premise for comedy.
The 6 minutes of Mr.Blobby are both scarier and funnier than Saw. I'd watch Mr.Blobby's quiz show anytime, provided that the BBC keep supplying him with pure crystal meth.
"How the fuck were you allowed near kids?" Haha, as a non-Brit who's never seen Mr. Blobby before, I couldn't agree more with Jack. WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT THING?
Omg I think I'm having a heart attack. I'm crying so much I can't even see the screen now. That is the best slapstick comedy I've seen in a long time. This Mr. Blobby is terrifying and I completely understand why Jack is terrified of him.
Sheldon Cooper Didn't Jesus just take the fish and bread and divide them into 500 equal size portions, but it took so long that everyone just said they were satisfied so they could go home and actually eat instead of waiting a long time for Jesus to finish dividing another loaf of bread and fish?
The whole last 10 minutes are greatness. Dara pissing himself when Blobby does that fistpump is the best thing ever. "I'm loving it. I'm loving it, I don't give a shit. This is the happiest I've ever been in my life."
Whoever's in that Blobby suit is genuinely a great comedian and a great performer. EDIT: Apparently it is indeed Barry Killerby, the original Blobby performer.
The bit with Mr Blobby had me crying and screaming with laughter. It was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Jack Whitehall's genuine fear was f*cking hilarious.
If you were a child of the 90s (like me and Jack), Blobby was legitimately terrifying. Tuning into Noel's House Party was always a risk. Don't know what they were thinking...
how the fuck where you allowed near kids ..... seeing as i'm not brittish i have no clue who mr blobby was , but this whole segment had me crying from laughter throughout
I have always thought that the authors of Teletubbies was on something when they came up with them. Then I saw Mr Blobby, a character we did not to my knowledge have in Sweden. That guy is on something himself. BTW Dara is great.
"If they are teletubbies, I will lose my shit" - "teletubbies are joyous things, mr.blobby is evil" - And then when they brought him out!! I have never laughed so hard in my life. Wheezing from it!!
i've never seen mr Blobby, he wasn't on Dutch TV, but the way he goes mental at the end is one of the most amusing things i've ever seen on youtube. :P
Mr. Blobby. What is this thing of nightmares?!!!!!!! What the actual fuck?! I mean, the eyes, the destructiveness, the energy of a cocaine addict and the distorted voice. Why is the hell-monster from Sam WInchester's nightmares on TV, and who let it near kids?
For a while I was working with an occultist, and we paid a visit to a man that was suffering from a "spiritual affliction". When he spoke, it sounded a lot like that Mr. Blobby thing. England, what... the fuck? LOL.
shiro no, it would. it's just producers dont think there's any money in this. Joe West ricky gervais once said he tried to pitch a show like these british celeb panels type game shows and after explaining it to the exec, the exec said something like ok whos the winner? how do you keep points etc. The exec didnt get that sometimes people will watch stuff like this just because its funny. American execs think people only want a game show with suspense and big winners. i forget the exact words. but i remember reading it a while ago.american has plenty of funny people, just not on tv. theres plenty of great comics on podcasts, Never not funny, comedy bang bang, super egi, adam carolla, mike and tom eat snacks. and many more. Yes american comedy is different from the UK but i love both personally. I dont only have to like one thing and hate the rest. I love all kinds of comedy. right now i just got into a New Zealand (could be Australian not 100% sure) show Late Night Big Breakfast its pretty funny and weird. i think a show like this in america will be just as funny, if done with the right people.
***** its worked before for america, from the 40s (including radio) to the 80s. What Hollywood squares you talking about the recent hip-hip version? That was awful but TBH i was never a fan of the old hollywood squares.
+eric mation Late Night Big Breakfast is indeed from NZ and features the hilarious Leigh Hart (aka That Guy).Check out Moon TV esp. Hamsterman and Bookzone/time is also there. Proud to be a Kiwi ;)
Rachel Hannan oh man thanks for this late comment. lol I forgot about Late Night Big Breakfast and Moon TV. i should add them to a playlist or something so i dont forget again. I might just go watch that episode you mentioned. Thank you...Kiwi. wait is that offensive in any way? lol is it like the N word? only New Zealanders can say it? But seriously thanks for the reminder. :D
As a Canadian i have no idea what blobby is but i'll be fucked if i'm not laughing the hardest i have in years
+Toast i'm canadian as well, first time i've seen mr. blobby, watched it three times and still laughing my ass off, love it
+Toast I hurt myself laughing at that. Holy moly.
+Toast i laughed my ass off and have a new antagonist of my nightmares!
Yes!!
Toast omg blobie
Never seen Dara more on top of his game. The phone line mimes, the impressions - he was on fire.
Jack Whitehall went through a range of emotions there. Thrilled at meeting the Teletubbies, and terrified of Mr. Blobby.
I have no frame of reference for what the hell Blobby is (I've since Googled it) but the mere fact that Jack brings it up at 46:20 and then it fuckin' shows up at the very end, and the hilarity that ensues, is the funniest thing I've seen this year and makes me wish we got TV like this in Canada.
the bit with mr blobby was among the best things i've ever seen
The bit with Mr. Blobby is an image that could be used as birth control.
When I saw the first mention of him earlier in the show, I looked at your comment and thought you were mental. Then it got to the part where he came out and I nearly passed out laughing.
The bit with Mr. Blobby is about as perfect a piece of television one will ever experience.
And the scariest.
Omg the Mr Blobby part, my whole body is aching of pain from laughing.
That Jack and Denise synchronised Riverdance bit deserves some recognition.
I would love to give her some one-on-one recognition. :)
ballsandfishes If you’re recognising how naff it was
Ok, I recognize how smokin hot that blond is!
Why I'm in the comments, it went on for so long as it was just pure glory.
Agreed, I am in bits over that
I wish Dara was on more often. I freaking love him. The same goes for Mr Jupitus.
I wish game shows in America were even half as good as the ones in the UK. Thank god for youtube.
Ikr? This show is hilarious! I like that they're all just cracking jokes and having a good time and putting down stupid answers. Where as the ones in the US are all so serious :)
You guys realize this is a comedy show and not really a game show, right?
@SeventhEve yeah bro, we got it
I think the closest we get to comedy games shows here are Roasts, where people are just mean to each other.
The Babe Station mime bit had me in tears. "Come up in the lift you slag"
+xdeathknightx I died laughing. Actual stomach cramps.
I can't breathe. And I'm not even in a lift.
"How the fuck were you allowed near kids?"
Haha, as a non-Brit who's never seen Mr.
Jack and Denise breaking into sitting riverdance is one of the best things I've seen in a long while.
Dara and Alan's bit at 37:00 is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I come back and watch it every time I need a laugh; it never fails.
Dara O'Briain in the thumbnail.
Sold as fuck.
I first had no idea what the fuck blobby was and thought Jack was overreacting but holy shit is that thing terrifiying.
MegaMetallover666 right? I just couldnt watch, his eye was twitching all the time like he was a psychopathXD
Srna i know it's absolutely terrifying
MegaMetallover666 Look how in the last frames jumps on the table in order to catch the fleeing Jack.
MegaMetallover666 He's like a fucking monster taken straight from a Stephen King novel. Jesus he's scary.
Sheldon Cooper Didn't Jesus just take the fish and bread and divide them into 500 equal size portions, but it took so long that everyone just said they were satisfied so they could go home and actually eat instead of waiting a long time for Jesus to finish dividing another loaf of bread and fish?
Dara's Mandela impression sounds the exact same as Greg Davies' Chris Eubank impression
ey im only 7 months late
Interesting to note that when Greg Davies did his Chris Eubank, Jon Richardson said it's a really good Nelson Mandela.
I literally decided to check the comments tot see if anyone had said the same and it was the top comment
Oh shite, you're right! XD
Did the four of them ever meet on a lift?
The whole last 10 minutes are greatness. Dara pissing himself when Blobby does that fistpump is the best thing ever. "I'm loving it. I'm loving it, I don't give a shit. This is the happiest I've ever been in my life."
what the hell is that thing?? LOL
Rob Boerakker hthffugvvbbbbbbbfhvvggvvvvg
@@chriseTx Dara Ó Briain is an Irish comedian.
Mr. Blobby looks and sounds like a combination of a Dalek, and one of those stress things that you squeeze and the eyeballs bug out of it's head.
its*
Whoever's in that Blobby suit is genuinely a great comedian and a great performer.
EDIT: Apparently it is indeed Barry Killerby, the original Blobby performer.
DodderingOldMan some think it was Joe Wilkinson
What Mr. Blobby suit? That was Actual Sleep Paralysis Demon™, Mr. Blobby.
The bit with Mr Blobby had me crying and screaming with laughter. It was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Jack Whitehall's genuine fear was f*cking hilarious.
I never appreciated how funny Dara is till now, highlight of the show.
Claudia Winkleman is the perfect woman for any comedian. Her laugh just makes everything seem funny.
My mother recently informed me that I had a toy Mr Blobby as a child. I now feel the need to re-evaluate my entire life.
Therapy works. Well, for me. But I'm not publically stating the show I was "supposedly" into. 😁
Between the Babestation mime bit and Mr. Blobby, this has to be the funniest Big Fat Quiz so far.
Babe Station is my favourite.
Jack and Denise and the river dancing bit made my entire life. Thank you for this.
Jack's terror of Mr Blobby -- and everyone else's delight -- is the best thing I've ever seen.
If you were a child of the 90s (like me and Jack), Blobby was legitimately terrifying. Tuning into Noel's House Party was always a risk. Don't know what they were thinking...
at 28:40, I love how Jack looks so proud of his 'reverse My Fair Lady' joke
When Blobby fell over I laughed so hard I cried.
Excellent overall group chemistry in this one :D It really makes the show when that happens!
Jack Whitehall getting so excited about Bewitched and breaking out into song is my favorite thing!
jack looks genuinely distressed at blobby laughed till I cried.
"Come up in a lift ya slag!" makes me so happy! Also, Mr. Blobby & Dara's joy at him. So much fun.
No idea who Mr Blobby is as I am American but I did lose my shit due it being both a callback gag and fucking hilarious.
That 'Dara miming' segment!
Never laughed more at Big Fat Quiz!
The most visual episode yet
how the fuck where you allowed near kids ..... seeing as i'm not brittish i have no clue who mr blobby was , but this whole segment had me crying from laughter throughout
Oh God why did I google that and spoil the suprise... I already regret it
I can sympathize with Jack's fears. That thing looks creepy as all hell, I'm glad I wasn't a child in Britain when it was on tv.
My head hurts...really violently...from laughing at that.
There is an episode of nevermind the buzzcocks where phil starts screaming no when they begin to play the blobby theme music
Matt Hodgkiss
i think it's the one john barrowman hosted... "MAKE IT STOP MAKE IT STOP"
I have always thought that the authors of Teletubbies was on something when they came up with them. Then I saw Mr Blobby, a character we did not to my knowledge have in Sweden. That guy is on something himself. BTW Dara is great.
I'm sure Teletubbies, Mr. Blobby and a few more were made with the help of hallucinogenics, and possibly other substances. :)
Just an opinion.
Mr Blobby was hilarious, and seeing Dara lose his shit, made it funnier still.
I lost my shit as well. Brilliant stuff!
Jack lost his shit. Not Dara.
blobbys voice *shiver*
How the hell did they get to "were you teletubbies?" in six questions? xd
I had to pause at the Mr. Blobby bit and now I can't stop laughing or crying. I'm too scared to press play unless I choke on my own spit.
***** blobby is slightly terrifying
I googled Mr Blobby and I now understand Jack's terror.
Oh my God, Jack and Denise dancing... dying of laughter now! Love it!
This is definitely the best Big Fat Quiz.
agreed X 10
It's between this one and 2010 for me, but I think this one just might edge it out. :-)
Uhhh no noel no best episode.
Gotta love in the beginning when he references all the wars and genocides of the 90s but a single princess gets the biggest reaction.
It is about what is closest to home. He also ended with Diana as a contrast, so it is also kind of a nervous reaction.
Am I not the only one who lost his shit when blobby came out? I was sure I was gonna die due to the inability to breathe in, I was laughing too much.
Forscythe80 no... literally every single person found it hilarious
My dad actually came into my room... I was laughing so loud🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Come up in a lift, ya slag!" Oddly enough that's my pick up line in hotels. Hasn't worked yet, but I live in hope.
the river dancing bit got me.. LOL!
"Jessica, i know. She lives with me now"o_o LMAO!
USA needs this show now, with this host.
It's hysterical.
In the US, it'd be so heavily censored that you'd miss all the fun parts.
Then we need to stop being so up-tight...but this is a much better version of Hollywood Squares.
the fix on netflix
Anthony Campo the US is way too uptight and puritanical.
I love how Dara is just cracking up during the whole Mr. Blobby thing. Made it that much more hilarious.
I shouldn't have watched this before bed, holy crap. Mr. Blobby is terrifying.
My god that thing is terrifying, how was it allowed near kids. I'm 30 years old and will have nightmares of that blobby monster.
Satan wasn't very convincing for the test audiences so that's how they came up with Mr. Blobby.
The last 10 minutes are too funny. Tears in my eyes. That Blobby character, whom I've never seen before, is amazing!
"If they are teletubbies, I will lose my shit" - "teletubbies are joyous things, mr.blobby is evil"
- And then when they brought him out!! I have never laughed so hard in my life. Wheezing from it!!
I have stomach cramps watching the miming bit, the Babe station one. 36:00
i was crying with laughter the entire time god help me please
i've never seen mr Blobby, he wasn't on Dutch TV, but the way he goes mental at the end is one of the most amusing things i've ever seen on youtube. :P
This is THE BEST Big Fat Quiz EVER. imho...
this was recommended to me from all my QI watching. I feel like i just found the Garden of Eden.
John Wayne Bobbitt gave up the porn films, He couldn't stand it whenever the director would yell "CUT!"
I did NOT remember Mr. Blobby being THAT scary, I LOVED HIM when I was little... I must have been totally out of my mind!
honestly dara with do anything on this show, its terrific
What?
I’m an Irish Dancer but really really synchronised and good well done jack and Denise
Holy shit Blobby was the funniest thing i've seen in a long time
Oh, so the Teletubbies are not the creepiest things they let around children anymore.
Mr. Blobby had me laughing so hard I was crying. I've never seen anything like him, totally unique (those eyes) and outrageous.
The River dancing is hysterical!
I thought that sort of voice distorting technology was only used by kidnappers and serial killers...not children's entertainers, GAH!
“I want to meet Lady GaGaaa” 😂😂😂
That is the only way I say her name now. 😂
That thing at the end! I have to rewind the entire part because I couldn't open my eyes for laughing.
Thanks for sharing!
i didnt think they could ever top bfqoty 2006 but the last like 6 minutes of this alone was just... fantastica
I rarely laugh so much that I'm sweaty after, but 35:38 - 37:42 was just amazing! I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard!
Am I the only one who thinks that Mr. Blobby was played by Joe Wilkinson?
At one point when mr blobby is on the ground, it does sound like jimmy says joe.
No I am fairly sure that it's him
Prob because of the fistpump right?
@@panner11 I can't hear it. What timecode?
It’s Barry Killerby not Joe Wilkinson
Was Mr Blobby built by Umbrella as a replacement for The Nemesis?
Dara is ON FIRE in this show :D
Can't even describe how much I love Jack Whitehall!
It's almost disturbing how cool the "Teletubbies" were.
Typical understated and dry British humour at the end there...
Mr. Blobby scene is by the far one the funniest moments in TV history
I don't know whether I should laugh hysterically or be bloody terrified. I'll have strange dreams, that's at least for sure. Thanks Mr. Blobby.
Hearing Bosnia and Yugoslavia in the beginning made me Happy, then I rewatched and heard it was good to be in that decade "except if you are" 💆💆💆
My favourite episode of BFG, mainly cause of Mr. Blobby. First time I watched this I nearly died of laughing XD
Mr. Blobby is the reason the BFG from Doom was created.
Riverdance bit was so funny
Mr blobby is the single most terrifying thing I have ever seen.
Mr. Blobby. What is this thing of nightmares?!!!!!!!
What the actual fuck?!
I mean, the eyes, the destructiveness, the energy of a cocaine addict and the distorted voice. Why is the hell-monster from Sam WInchester's nightmares on TV, and who let it near kids?
dara is hysterical. i don't think i've ever seen him so silly and on fire.
As Bosnian, I appreciate the mention
For a while I was working with an occultist, and we paid a visit to a man that was suffering from a "spiritual affliction". When he spoke, it sounded a lot like that Mr. Blobby thing. England, what... the fuck? LOL.
I'd also never seen Mr Blobby before, but holy hell my face hurts from laughing. "Kiss, Jimmy! Kiss!" Still wiping away the tears of laughter.
That Ghost watch live bit is terrifying!!
Thank you so much for posting this. These are absolutely BRILLIANT!
Thank you so much for uploading this and the 80's....I don't think I've laughed so hard in my life...my face hurts so bad right now :D
jimmy laughing is the best thing ever
what spawn of hell is mr blobby!? LOL he is absolutely terrifying in the funniest of ways XD
Having seen all of these that are on CZcams, I have to say this is the best one I've ever seen
This is still the best BFQ.

Joe West because the American version wouldnt be hilarious at all..

Mr. Blobby has the voice of a thousand screaming souls burning in the lake of fire.
