I feel the Klaxon itself has gained a bit of a personality over the years. It's like QIs very own Stig.

Honestly, I kind of miss the notion that the forfeits were planned in advance - it made the weirdly specific ones funnier. When did that end? I think the cards went away as early as B, and I'm pretty sure about the Michael Winner running gag with Jo Brand in I, but that Victoria Coren bit in J is the first I'm absolutely sure of.

I love the ones where they predict the panelists jokes.
Like if Jo Brand answers "My Husband" to be funny and it sets off the klaxon
Or the time the klaxon said “Phwoar” when Rob Brydon said that about a garden gnome.
There was one where the question was "How old are you?" and they had individual klaxons for each panellist, with the trick being that none of the cells in your body are actually that old.

It would have done it in 5 but for Alan Davies being one of its main sources of information.
To all the other channels: when you want to post a montage of the 'best scenes of...', just remember, that's how the background music must be. Not over everybody's words, not loud to distraction, not on the forefront of the video. In the background and with a meaning.

I didn’t even notice the music. Which underscores your point.
I only really noticed it as a pushing force throughout the video... When it became louder during the rules' appearance, I became aware that it had been continuous, but otherwise it served mainly to maintain speed and enthusiasm. A very well put-together compilation.

The Klaxon has become so funny over the years!!! The fact that it now interacts & has become quite a smartass is simply brilliant!

It's especially funny when you realize they probably threw that in BECAUSE Victoria mentioned it, meaning one of the Elves was scampering to connect the March Hare with the Aztecs mid-filming.

This is a masterpiece of editing and arrangement. The only nitpick I can possibly think of is the changing audio levels, but really that was an artistic choice rather than an error. 10/10
These new themed compilations are fantastic. Love to see more of them.
I also want to point out the great editing on this, miles ahead of most other compilations on youtube (including other official ones).

not really there was one question to witch the answer was the blue whale (can't remember the episode) and Allan didn't get it :)

1. Was french and he had no idea
2. Stolen by another contestant
3. Got it right(!) BUT it was in a special episode where the person with the most points lost and it was the question worth the most points

Sandi got him with a blue whale correct answer in her first season too. And he got it wrong and got the klaxon.

IIRC there was at least another time (during the Fry years) when the answer was indeed Blue Whale and Alan missed it!
Syzygy I believe there were a few that Alan missed after either being distracted or having it be in another language
@@The_Tauri I am pretty sure they had an episode where they tried to get as low score as possible and Alan got the blue whale bonus on that one and terribly lost because he got so many points for it.
"blue whale" has been the answer plenty of times. it just never occurs to alan to actually give that as an answer in those cases xD

I like how 4:35 emphatically says that the sound is not technically a klaxon but the video ends itself with the Klaxon introducing itself as “the Klaxon” and the video being titled “How to survive the QI Klaxon”

It's clearly voiced by Lord President Rassilon from the Five Doctors, and Time Lords lie, so he's always right, particularly when he's wrong.

It could only ever be the original BBC one, because any American remake just wouldn't be as funny. Like Top Gear, the American one would lose all the British humor (or, "humour") that makes it so outrageously zany.

The worst thing about Ed Balls' answer is that it's the cooperative party which he is a member of.
@Eric Burkheimer Labour is the second largest party at the minute and the Cooperative party is a part of Labour but is legally a separate party and as such is the third largest.

The Klaxon manages to sound both menacing, and jolly.
I think my favourite sound (maybe apart from the general Mulchet noise) is Alan’s buzzer at 6:17
