  • As fans of all things electric, getting an eTractor has been on the list for quite awhile. We could have bought a lead acid powered ride on mower but knew that waiting for a lithium powered mower was the right thing to do. We've really enjoyed using automowers the last few years, but there's just something about getting out there for a tractor ride yourself. Not to mention, there is a lot of other utility that a tractor can be used for.. definitely excited to get a snow plow for it this winter!
    At the time of this post I have 5 hours of run time on the XT1 and I'm very happy with it. My only major complaint is the safety mechanism in the seat that doesn't allow you to move off it at all without shutting the mower down. I know it's a great safety precaution, but I just wish it was a little less sensitive or that holding your hand on the rear of the seat would keep it going if you need to move your weight around a little.
    You can check out this model at Adam Solar Rides Bridgeville location on Mayview Road. We can place an order for you there or just head up to ASR North at J&D Lawn & Tractor Sales in Wexford. Availibility is limited (I waited a year for this one) so make sure to get one ASAP if you want one.

    I've been searching for a fix to disable the reverse mower cutoff switch. You gave a quick note to hold the button for 3 seconds. Just went outside and tried it and it worked. Thanks for the video.

    how's the battery capacity holding up vs when new? has it shown signs of capacity degradation yet?
    btw...steering wheel is one bolt under cap,12mm i think.., it's super easy to realign steering splines for a straight wheel.

      Thanks for steering wheel advice... and yes, capacity seems to be same, I didn't test it but it still seems to last forever and I've yet to run out of juice. I keep it stored inside heated through winter ~40-70% SOC. Only maintenance to date has been a set of new blades this season which was my bad anyway from woods/trail cutting and smashing things up a bit when I went around a downed tree. I'll make an updated video soon on how it's held up so well over the last year. I still love this tractor and look forward to cutting the grass with it, definitely one of my favorite EVs in the fleet!

      Been on the film list for awhile. But yes I will. Might be Spring at this point we'll see.

      @@AdamSolar how do you store it is the place you use heated and do you keep it plugged in over the winter?

    • @AdamSolar
      @AdamSolar  Před 8 měsíci

      @@MC-ig8cm Yes heated, probably not good to leave it in freezing temps. And definitely don't leave it plugged in. I'm not sure what their manual says but probably keep it at ~40%-%70 SOC over winter is best. I might even get a snowplow for it this winter!

    A big problem with these is that every component costs $400-500 and not one service center will work on them.

      I've tortured this one and it's only broke once. The fix was unplugging and replugging in the motor wire connector. I'm super happy with it, definitely one of my favorite EVs in the fleet. I don't know how repair issues go because I haven't had to deal with one yet, although have read some stories on the early versions. I've definitely blown up several craftsmanship over the years. If It is expensive for parts and difficult to fix, I think those are issues that will only get better with time and mass adoption.

    After 8 months do you still recommend this mower? I know due to winter it probably hasn't been used much lately. I see Home Depot selling these for $3,600 and i definitely want to steer away from gas units but do not want to spend $5k for other models.

    • @AdamSolar
      @AdamSolar  Před rokem

      Yes, can't wait to take it back out, and will do an updated review this Spring. Got a link for the HD $3,600 one? I can't find it, and would probably buy another one instead of trailering it back and forth from house to shop. I had a gas tractor at home but enjoyed this so much more I trailer it back and forth..

      @@AdamSolar I love mine, but I'm getting frustrated trying to find where you're supposed to connect the electric accessories. Haven't seen a video on that anywhere. All the vids are for the gas versions.

      Winter storage for the battery ?

    • @AdamSolar
      @AdamSolar  Před rokem

      @@Thatguy-tb9pw Not sure of their official recommendation but I'd say between 40-70% SOC and ideally in a heated garage, don't let it freeze.

    That charger is very ugly compared to what Ego does. Kinda disappointed in that regard.
    Great video nonetheless
