- I've posted A LOT of AC Mirage videos, as well as dozens of other videos from almost every AC game. I honestly think this might be my best clip ever, all made possible because of my sweet friends at Ubisoft Bordeaux and their new parkour update.
I really like this one.
I had a lot of jokes that I wanted to caption on this video but I didn't want to distract from the action. This one is pretty packed with it. but I did manage to sneak one joke in.
If you need a little help with the parkour in this game, I have a very chaotic tutorial avaliable on my channel. It's the first video listen in my AC Mirage playlist (link below) Some of the info is dated because ubi played a little prank on me and announced the parkour update 1 day after I posted it, but most of the stuff in there is still relevant.

If they can make an enjoyable world with good parkour and a good story I’ll be happy but I don’t expect that with red.

My biggest wish is that the enemy ai was at least on the level of mgsv or hitman, complex patrols and alert that spreads more naturally. It feels like there’s not much consequence for killing people and leaving the bodies strewn about randomly during a stealth mission because you can usually be certain that no one will cross paths with the body due to how simple the enemy ai and pathing is. In mgsv I love how guards take shifts so if you take a long time, some guards might leave to eat and sleep and others will take up their post, stuff like that always led to interesting opportunities and chances for new challenge. The stealth is definitely stronger than any prior assassins creed imo, but the expectation has been raised over the past decade with the hitman series, dishonored 1 and 2, mgsv, etc and to play a game where the ai basically just stands there or walks back and forth, it feels like I’m playing sly 2 for the ps2 again. Sly 2 was great ngl but it was a cartoony game from the early 2000s so it’s easier to excuse the extremely simple ai.
Considering I already liked AC Mirage, this fantastically marvelous clip only convinced me to play Mirage's NG+ (after I finish my 2nd RDR2 playthrough)

1:55 perfect example of technical parkour. It’s not running a simple route that looks cool, it’s doing completely unnecessary ejects to get to the same spot because it looks cool. Love it, good shit bro
I would argue that move in particular isn't completely unnecessary because it creates a more natural and smooth transition in momentum. Instead of landing on that post and having to turn to the left and jump, he lands on the post already facing the way he needs to go w/ momentum. And thank you for understanding that style is important haha.
(3 weeks later reply whatever) By jumping to the fence, then to the wall and then to the post it helps with the auto-turning camera as well. If he jumped to the post directly that would mean turning the camera manually to the right and that makes the next move difficult to control.

Haha jeez, idk about a million, but thank you so much. Assassin focus is just a mechanic of the game. Simple press of the right thumbstick will get the job done.
I find holding sprint while doing side ejects can increase the chances of triggering it. Do any of you have the same experience?
I always let go of sprint while ejecting, but that was just my method from before the update. I haven't played around with that yet, I'll give it a try.

This is why we love AC. This right here in my opinion the best AC mechanically speaking and that’s the main fun of AC. No one really care about story it’s an unplayable movie if you think about it. The mechanics is what makes or break the game.
I don't care all that much about the story either. It's a nice bonus if it's good, but I'm 100% in it for the gameplay and immersing myself in the environment more so than the actual story.
I'm on Xbox, I'm ok back ejecting but side ejecting only works sometimes for me. What are the actual buttons you use for side eject or is it just like Unity's side eject?
Let go of all controls inculding sprint, input desired direction and press parkour button simultaneously

@@Ropotopolous Yeah, all I had to do was move the joystick in the desired direction but instead of moving it exactly to the left/right, I lean it a bit to the back, that also works for me in the kenway games, I don't know if I'm explaining myself well.
I hope that the combat is better in the next one. I liked the Kenway saga for it’s balance of combat and stealth
I agree. Personally I don't care too much about the combat system in a game like this. As long as there's cool and brutal finishers, I'm happy. To me, that's Assassin's Creed

Hey so I’ve been watched your mirage videos for a while and btw they are awesome. I finally got the game yesterday and boy was it worth it. I’m obsessed. I was wondering, what is your favourite outfit?
I like to wear all kinds of different stuff. After all the dust has settled, the one I use the most is just the initiate outfit with the green dye (you unlock the dye pretty early in the story) it's not super green, just has some accents and a cool pattern off white look to the whole thing. I haven't seen anyone really wearing that one in their videos so I use it a lot.
@@Ropotopolous Nice. Good way to be unique and set yourself apart from other CZcamsrs. I’m not very far into the story because I got distracted with the mysterious shard quest which I’m not sure was entirely worth it. What I’ve learnt is to not think about the bottom parts of the outfits in this game since lots of them have weird texture glitches that can be very annoying and look unatural which can make outfit selection hard for me I have to admit.
@@Patster7515 yeah, I try not to think too hard about them. As far as the lower half goes I think the master assassin robes look thr best. They probably would be my favorite but it's just too much the obvious choice for a go to outfit. Don't worry about getting distracted. It took me about 50 hours to beat the story because I spent half the time just climbing stuff.

I enjoyed the game and the latest update, but one missing thing is the slow motion knife throwing when Basim is jumping up after the elevators use, like 1:44
Yeah it seems like they would have added that. You can do it while entering/exiting a corner swing which I would expect less than the lift, but it's not a huge loss by ant means.

Awesome parkour, reminds me of playing AC Unity. Not interested in this one, though, due to the setting. Everything is dull, brown and boring imo. Never cared for the Middle East aesthetically.
Amazing how bad animations can be in anothet ac entry. Honestly speaking ac 2 had less parkour animations but atleast it was fluid. Like Look at first 15 seconds how second handed can animations become(oddysey, valhalla and this) from what we had in syndicate or unity. At every jump character stops his movement for like 0.5 second(less but i dont care) with visible stutter and whats worse it is like this after every fucking jump. I dont think anybody who played older ac games(when they were relased not after 10 years) will understand that there is someting fucked up with every single parkour frame from oddysey(there wasnt much of "city parkour") that it looks like you are Mount climbing lmao.
Like ok there are some good animations but at the same time you have 1:10 ratio of good to bad movements with out stutter(or bulshit like jumping with hitting Your knees through the wall or skipping part of textures).
