It never fails! In these animal videos they ALWAYS leave out the fact that we have the only two venomous lizards on the planet. The Gila monster and the beaded lizard that live in the deserts of the American southwest.
They are the only venomous lizards in North America, but not the only ones on the planet. There are a handful of others, though not many. One prominent example is the Komodo Dragon.

Their mouth and can easily transmit all manner of disease into bite wounds ( some theorize even botulism ) but they ha e not been found for have venom glands at all.

I love that you are rescue people. My wife and I currently have a cockatoo, an Amazon parrot, a lion head rabbit, and a dog. All rescues. We also have about a dozen rats, mice and gerbils that we are fostering awaiting adoption. BTW, late September in New England is gorgeous.

When I was a kid (in the late 1950s) I ordered a garter snake by mail from an ad in the back of a comic book. It arrived by mail in a cloth bag. It had a shipping tag with a few stamps on it. I had it for quite a while until one day it escaped and took up residence in my sister's upright piano. She was fine with that because it gave her an excuse not to practice. I would catch a glimpse of it occasionally when it peeked out, but I guess it finally managed to find its way outside the house. (Georgia USA)

The Rattle on the tail end of the Pygmy Rattlesnake doesn't make noise when it is vigorously shaken. One of my students caught one and brought it to public school and let just about everyone at school handle it before showing it to me [science teacher]. Once I realized what it was, I put it in the dry aquarium tank and released back to the wild after school let out. We were told that they only produce a few drops of venom but that the venom can still be lethal. Rattlesnake venom is very detrimental to surrounding muscle tissue.

I don't mind snakes at all, as long as they are in the wild or contained. One being free in my house would definitely freak me out, even knowing it was harmless. I see them all the time when I take walks through the parks and love watching them.
I was also living in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia and I had a bunch of kittens running around that our cat had had and one day I noticed them all playing with something under my kitchen table so I went over and saw that it was a Pygmy rattlesnake! Scared me half to death but I was about to get it into a big bucket. I put a quarter in it to show their sizes together and got a picture of it. Curled into a c shape it was about the exact same size as the quarter. Thankfully all of the kittens were just fine and I took the snake to the woods and released it
I've seen a few alligators on the Georgia coast. Jekyll Island has about 125 that live there. The wildlife guys recently were called to remove a big one from somebody's backyard on St. Simons island. They sometimes appear on the golf courses there. Talk about a water hazard!
If you're ever camping on Catalina or one of the Channel Islands watch how you store your food. We had one of those foxes come in to our campsite every morning to check the food containers. Just don't give into the temptation to try to pet one. They're very cute but they're still wild animals.

One day my dad decided to catch one and started taking it towards the house and my sister and I made it into the house but my mom locked my did out and didn’t let him in for hours! Living in Arizona is great for finding snakes. I have caught hundreds of different kinds of snakes here over the last 45 years. Lots of king snakes, gopher snakes, garter snakes, etc. There are also many different rattlesnakes here, but I don't mess around with them. I leave them alone.

The alligator gar can be found near the University of Houston, Clear Lake. This campus is near NASA. They are freaky looking. Very prehistoric and aggressive.
Hello from Texas 👋🏼 If y’all ever visit the Houston area, y’all gotta take a trip down to Brazos Bend State Park. They let you pet baby alligators at the visitor’s center. It’s also not uncommon to be a few feet away from gators on the lake trails.

The county that I live in, in Florida, they have taken at least 2 12-footers and a 15-foot Gator. They were in the St Johns River, which flows north. Once, I was fishing in the St Johns back in the '60s. I caught an Alligator Gar about 4-foot long.
Also this is fact. We have more tigers in Texas than any other country in the world 😂😂😂. I work at Bush Airport in Houston as security for international flights and I saw animals from all over the world being transported here cause it's legal in Texas to have animals from Africa and Aisa 😂

Gar fish are aggravating. They will often eat / attack your fish on the hook. They are a pain when trying to catch fresh water fish and having Gar fish causing trouble.
I am curious as to the views of people from other countries regarding spaying and neutering cats and dogs. Where I live in the USA, all cats and dogs must spayed or neutered if adopted. Any stray dogs or cats must be surrendered to the Humane Society and are available for adoption after 7 days if not claimed by owners. They must also be vaccinated and registered with the County annually after adoption. Do other countries not require spaying and neutering of adopted cats and dogs?

Get a Ribbon snake! Sub species of garter. My friend had one that he kept with a fishbowl in it's tank. We'd feed it by tossing a goldfish in the bowl. The snake would prepare, strike, flip the fish (if necessary), and swallow. More fun than my pythin.
With the exception of mating and nesting season, alligators aren't that agressive towards humans. I live in Florida and there's a local nature preserve where it's fairly common to see alligators sunning themselves to the sides of the walking paths. Their habitat area is closed off during mating and nesting season to prevent people from getting attacked. People who live near lakes and ponds have to be very careful with their pets because alligators will snatch up a dog or cat in a heartbeat.

Wild Animals I Have Seen West Coast I once saw a mountain lion in the wild. It leapt across the road from an upward enbankment to the other side, right in front of my car. Too fast for a picture. It wasn't quite grown; maybe a teen lion. Coyotes--if you are out of the city around dusk or dawn, you are bound to see one or a pack. If you live at the edge of a town, you can hear them yipping on warm nights. Keep the cats indoors! Rattlesnakes--one hot afternoon on my usual trail through a forest of pump jacks, I ran into many (maybe a dozen) in different places. I almost stepped on one, but it slithered away. Then around a bend was a big, bull rattlesnake raised up and glaring at me. I think he was saying, "You shall not pass!" I didn't, but when I came home I googled rattlesnake hospital charges. Assuming I was bitten and got help in time, the treatment regimen could have cost as much as ten-years' pay! I have also seen herds of elk, and also pronghorn antelope. I did not know pronghorn are as big as stags. East Coast A lady friend of mine told me she fed raccoons off her back deck. I saw a trail of raccoons' little hand-prints (their thumbs are almost opposable), by the creek running along the edge of our backyard. I dropped a trail of dog kibble to our back deck. Soon, one came to our back deck and didn't mind me being there. By the third evening, there were at least eight, eating out of my hand. But raccoons are feisty. I once saw a Pit Bull torn up bad in a fight with one. The Pit Bull had won, but he was seriously injured. When I was feeding them by hand one at a time, the other raccoons would get jealous and get into nasty squabbles with each other. They have cute faces, but they turn angry in a flash and become shrieking little demons. I am certain they were cussing at each other with venomous bad words. At night, I could hear them off in the woods screaming like devilish cats. I also saw foxes, both grey and red, walk through our backyard. I once saw a hawk swoop down three feet in front of me and grab a big black snake, then it flew into a tree and killed it. We had burrows of yellow jackets under our grass. When I was cutting the grass on a John Deere lawn tractor, when I got within six feet of their hole, several followed me, got caught in the folds of my shirt, and stung me over and over again. I tore off my shirt, left it behind, and I was red and blistery where they had stung. I came back at night when they were in their hole, dormant. I dumped kerosene down their hole. It was a beautiful fire to see.
We called Marmots whistle pigs when I grew up. I would guess the narrator is a Kiwi or Australian bloke. A lot of the animals in the US may also be found (or have been found historically) in Canada or Mexico, so they don't qualify for US only. I'm not sure why the Bison wasn't included (maybe found in Canada?). Peace, Love!!
There are quite a few other animals that are only found in the US that he left out. I was once hiking here in West Florida with a bunch of boys from our church. We were in Blackwater Forest (West of Pensacola). I was ahead of the other folks when one kid said “snake!”. I had just stepped over a Pygmy Rattler and never even saw him. A friend of mine got bit by one on his thumb and it swelled up and hurt a lot. He was ok but almost lost that finger.

You should also check out the Sidewinder Rattlesnake or Gila Monster. The Sidewinders don't slither across the ground heading in a forward direction, their body sidesteps and travels sideways. Their tracks are very easy to identify in the sand, they look like a "S" shape with a slight curl at the end. There will be large gaps between each track, depending on the size of the snake. My son was a videographer and was with Steve Erwin when he came to the Arizona Desert to track and find the Sidewinder. Since you all like snakes so much, I thought you would like to know about them. But they are venomous and aggressive. They have chased some of my mechanics up onto tables or on the seats of quads to avoid getting bitten. They are not to be messed with. The Gila Monster is also deadly. They don't like being around people, hide very well, but if they bite, they don't let go. I'm wondering if

I know this doesn't apply to this video, but i have never seen this on any video. On top of tax on sodas some states have a bottle deposit. In michigan you pay an extra 10 cents. And when you are finished with it you take back to most any store and get your money back. Not all states do this and where they do the amount varies.

Bobcats are another example that resides throughout North America.
Yeah, we rarely see them. I saw 2 eating a deer that had been hit by a car in East Texas.
Last week, I watched a bobcat casually stroll across my front yard. (To be fair, I live within a National forest in a wildlife area.)

You can find Praying Mantis on hummingbird feeders bc they catch and eat the hummingbirds

Florida panther is a kind of puma. Last year the police treed a puma in a tree in a public park in my town.

I am curious as to the views of people from other countries regarding spaying and neutering cats and dogs. Where I live in the USA, all cats and dogs must spayed or neutered if adopted. Any stray dogs or cats must be surrendered to the Humane Society and are available for adoption after 7 days if not claimed by owners. They must also be vaccinated and registered with the County annually after adoption.
Do other countries not require spaying and neutering of adopted cats and dogs?

Get a Ribbon snake! Sub species of garter. My friend had one that he kept with a fishbowl in it's tank. We'd feed it by tossing a goldfish in the bowl. The snake would prepare, strike, flip the fish (if necessary), and swallow. More fun than my pythin.
With the exception of mating and nesting season, alligators aren't that agressive towards humans. I live in Florida and there's a local nature preserve where it's fairly common to see alligators sunning themselves to the sides of the walking paths. Their habitat area is closed off during mating and nesting season to prevent people from getting attacked. People who live near lakes and ponds have to be very careful with their pets because alligators will snatch up a dog or cat in a heartbeat.

Wild Animals I Have Seen
West Coast
I once saw a mountain lion in the wild. It leapt across the road from an upward enbankment to the other side, right in front of my car. Too fast for a picture. It wasn't quite grown; maybe a teen lion.
Coyotes--if you are out of the city around dusk or dawn, you are bound to see one or a pack. If you live at the edge of a town, you can hear them yipping on warm nights. Keep the cats indoors!
Rattlesnakes--one hot afternoon on my usual trail through a forest of pump jacks, I ran into many (maybe a dozen) in different places. I almost stepped on one, but it slithered away. Then around a bend was a big, bull rattlesnake raised up and glaring at me. I think he was saying, "You shall not pass!" I didn't, but when I came home I googled rattlesnake hospital charges. Assuming I was bitten and got help in time, the treatment regimen could have cost as much as ten-years' pay!
I have also seen herds of elk, and also pronghorn antelope. I did not know pronghorn are as big as stags.
East Coast
A lady friend of mine told me she fed raccoons off her back deck. I saw a trail of raccoons' little hand-prints (their thumbs are almost opposable), by the creek running along the edge of our backyard. I dropped a trail of dog kibble to our back deck. Soon, one came to our back deck and didn't mind me being there. By the third evening, there were at least eight, eating out of my hand.
But raccoons are feisty. I once saw a Pit Bull torn up bad in a fight with one. The Pit Bull had won, but he was seriously injured. When I was feeding them by hand one at a time, the other raccoons would get jealous and get into nasty squabbles with each other. They have cute faces, but they turn angry in a flash and become shrieking little demons. I am certain they were cussing at each other with venomous bad words. At night, I could hear them off in the woods screaming like devilish cats.
I also saw foxes, both grey and red, walk through our backyard.
I once saw a hawk swoop down three feet in front of me and grab a big black snake, then it flew into a tree and killed it.
We had burrows of yellow jackets under our grass. When I was cutting the grass on a John Deere lawn tractor, when I got within six feet of their hole, several followed me, got caught in the folds of my shirt, and stung me over and over again. I tore off my shirt, left it behind, and I was red and blistery where they had stung. I came back at night when they were in their hole, dormant. I dumped kerosene down their hole. It was a beautiful fire to see.
We called Marmots whistle pigs when I grew up. I would guess the narrator is a Kiwi or Australian bloke. A lot of the animals in the US may also be found (or have been found historically) in Canada or Mexico, so they don't qualify for US only. I'm not sure why the Bison wasn't included (maybe found in Canada?). Peace, Love!!
There are quite a few other animals that are only found in the US that he left out. I was once hiking here in West Florida with a bunch of boys from our church. We were in Blackwater Forest (West of Pensacola). I was ahead of the other folks when one kid said “snake!”. I had just stepped over a Pygmy Rattler and never even saw him. A friend of mine got bit by one on his thumb and it swelled up and hurt a lot. He was ok but almost lost that finger.

where im at here in florida there is a little lake and we have 2 or 3 little 4 or 5 foot gators the pitbull i have she loves to go to the bank of the lake the gators see her and stay further in the middle of the lake

Also, being a fellow animal lover, I knew I'd like you guys; I've only ever had dogs & cats that I actually remember, but apparently when I was very very young, we also had 2 guinea pigs. I'd like to have a jumping spider some day. You could get a rat snake; they're nonvenomous & they'll keep your house pest free.

You should also check out the Sidewinder Rattlesnake or Gila Monster. The Sidewinders don't slither across the ground heading in a forward direction, their body sidesteps and travels sideways. Their tracks are very easy to identify in the sand, they look like a "S" shape with a slight curl at the end. There will be large gaps between each track, depending on the size of the snake. My son was a videographer and was with Steve Erwin when he came to the Arizona Desert to track and find the Sidewinder. Since you all like snakes so much, I thought you would like to know about them. But they are venomous and aggressive. They have chased some of my mechanics up onto tables or on the seats of quads to avoid getting bitten. They are not to be messed with. The Gila Monster is also deadly. They don't like being around people, hide very well, but if they bite, they don't let go. I'm wondering if

I know this doesn't apply to this video, but i have never seen this on any video. On top of tax on sodas some states have a bottle deposit. In michigan you pay an extra 10 cents. And when you are finished with it you take back to most any store and get your money back. Not all states do this and where they do the amount varies.
