I laugh at these expats in France saying it's our fault as tourists. Only the French would come up with an "American menu in English" and gouge Americans with higher prices. It's not a myth. But the farther out you go towards Normandie as example, the French become better. In Paris, they are insufferable.

I'm glad you're enjoying our country! Welcome! I swear British media and youtubers make England seem like the dreariest most miserable place on Earth haha. I'm English, i love England. I love the weather. I have access to any food i like. Have a good job. I have a good home, great family and i find most people in England are nice to talk to and personally i wouldn't want to live in any other country. That doesn't mean i don't like travelling and love other countries too. I've been to America before (Florida) some people may say you shouldn't base your opinion on America just from going to Florida lol
I find when you get a youtubers perspective in these videos and this goes for an American moving to Britain too, they have moved to that country for a reason or to move out of that country for a reason. So this girl probably had some bad experiences in England so she's overly negative about England. i've seen Americans moving to England and bashing America but again i feel like they probably just had some bad experiences in America so they love England.

Interesting perspective. Where are you in the States? I'm just curious because depending on where you are I do think you get different flavors of cultural diversity. For example, I was born and raised in Florida. Still here, and Florida has been one of the most diverse States traditionally, but in particular it's Latin communities. There's great Latin food all over the State, but particularly I would say it started in Tampa, my home town, probably before much of the rest of the state, but now it's everywhere. In the 20 years since I moved away from Tampa, it's become home to one of the largest Arabic populations in the US, so there's tons of great Middle Eastern food spots and stuff. From what I've heard Miami is very international now, with many European cultures having much larger representation than in years past when it was probably 90% Cuban. . I lived there for about a year, and you literally can't communicate in places like grocery stores, and various shops in English, because nobody, from the stockers to the managers speaks it. The only time I've lived outside of Florida, I was in St. Louis, Missouri for 4 years, and there the largest ethnic group were Bosnians. Many settled there when they fled the Bosnian War, and it became the predominant ethnic group in the city. Great city btw. Anyway, just interested to know exactly where you're at and what cultures your encountering there.

I’m a straight, white, middle-aged male American, and I LOVE Europe and England (UK). Sure….if you have no interest in history, stunning and beautiful architecture, culture, and education, then by all means you shouldn’t leave your American comfort zone.
I studied abroad for an academic year in Seville, Spain, and I spent 2 summer months studying in London at the London School of Economics (LSE). I also was able to spend a week
in Italy. Western Europe is absolutely wonderful . When you’re in Europe you are literally walking in the footsteps of history as you constantly are entering structures six or seven hundred years old and older. The architecture leaves you in awe. Everyday you are overlooking the foundations of Western civilization. It’s incredible. Not only that, but Western Europeans do a much better job of helping their citizens by utilizing better policies.
Perhaps the only major mistake they’ve made is in regard to their immigration policies which had a lot to do with the UK leaving the EU. But overall, I would say W. Europeans actually enjoy more freedoms than we Americans do.
My question to the original poster is…..have you ever been to Europe? For some reason, I’m thinking you are a supporter of Trump. Am I right about that?

To say the weather is better is foolish. Where are you. The Aleutian islands of alaska, key west , Fla. ,Lawrence kansas , santa barbra, Ca. superior mn., hawaii? The US is 50 times larger than england. OK, maybe only 25.

She is correct…I am from Kansas and a retired soldier..(E-7)…but if you are from England as she is, and you are now in a place that is very much varied from the high desert in California to the seaside docks of Maine..it is not grey and gloomy and rainy..as London can be on a regular basis..and she’s right…every day usually you can go do outdoors things whether it’s a game of pickleball..or run some laps around the high school track..you have choices…England, not so much..

Considering how hot you are [especially compared to all the "undocumented" that are crossing our borders], you are MOST welcome here! 💓🤍💙
