video was so funny you had to watch it twice after forgetting it
@@wiziek That less on the video and more on the fact that my brain is that of a goldfish
@@MuklukCZcams About Rose other video, you should expect familiar type of humor.
Bold for Roze to assume that charr being more animalistic is turn off for furries.
that is THE reason I play charr. :3
charr are awesome
i enjoy non-human races that look cool, the dnd dragonborn also comes too mind
yeah, my brother was weirdly obsessed with that one designer giving the publisher the choice of no tits on charr or 6 tits on charr.
Go watch the part 2 !
This lmao
"Getting side-tracked is mandatory" is the best descriptor of the game I have heard.
The game was made for ADHD people. Ohh shiny over there, or another one over there, oh lets go do that...........wait what was i supposed to be doing again?
Why no reviewers mention that GW2 literally almost never goes offline and maintenance and updates are done in the background. I personally dont know any other mmo that has such server design.
Anet has patent on that
Probably because they simply don't play enough to experience it. Like, to notice you have to be online at a time when an update is happening, which is quite likely to happen if you play the game a lot, but if you only play through a couple of zones for a video that likelihood diminishes somewhat. This review was pretty much a first impressions kinda thing, with gameplay that could be done in a couple days at most, so quite unlikely to randomly stumble over an update in that timeframe.
And there's almost no bugfixes for older content either
Warframe operates the same way, basically zero downtime, live updates when patches release.
@@missk1697 actually they went through not too long ago and bug fixed all the dungeons, and consolidated the currency which is absolutely incredible
I wish they had kept with the psychological horror aspect of Jormag.
It felt like we lost a lot going from "Battling the Psyche of our minds" to "Charr War go Brr"
IBS was a hot mess. I'm sorry, but it just wasn't handled right. There was even a ton of speculation at the subreddit that the Charr saga and IBS were NOT supposed to be combined the way the screenwriters made it. I personally think the Charr civil war was supposed to be its own living story and that Jormag was supposed to be a beefy expansion of its own. But something happened along the way where they fired a bunch of employees and orders came from high up to wrap up the elder dragon saga pronto and move things along.
jackofthecoke, that would only make sense if IBS didn't start with the charr in grothmar valley. Your whole argument falls apart because it was obviously meant to be also about the charr from the start.
I agree. Bjora march storyline was great. Spoopy stuff. Then they just forgot.
Absolutely. Icebrood Saga was a low point of GW2 storytelling for me.
Love how casual this game is. Took a 6 year break and all my gear, weapons, items, etc still relevant and rocking it. Just had to learn how the expansions worked.
Man.. I would have LOVED to see him if he'd chosen Norn, and chose the story arc where he got drunk one night and passed out. That was seriously the only personal story arc that had me laughing uncontrollably..
You mean the best one? lmao
One of the living stories I had to pick up Braun from drunkin jail lol
I love GW2 because the game feels like an adventure (art style, music, lively maps), not a grind or race to get the best gear. Legendaries are just a long term goal to sink your currencies into and it's a quality of life upgrade. Set a goal for a leggy, and play literally everything and anything to finish it... The game respects my time and wallet. Buying shop items is just a way for me to appreciate the developers. Think of it as a donate button since the game doesn't have a sub fee. If GW3 has a sub fee, I would pay it in a heart beat because if GW3 is anything like GW2, it will be AMAZING.
_Guild Wars 2's_ determination to dispose of the traditional "Holy Trinity" of the genre was a direct result of the "Monk Strike" in GW1. There was one mission in GW1 (Thunderhead Keep) that was nearly impossible to get through without a couple of good monks. A significant percentage of Monk-players decided to cash in on this and would hang around the beginning area, demanding exorbitant fees to help other players and groups through the mission. This generated _a lot_ of stress and division in the player-base. In response, Anet nerfed the mission considerably and brought in "Heroes" (AI-controlled companions) so that players could get through the game without monks - Or at least with AI-monks.
This is also why, when GW2 was created, _every profession_ was equipped with their own healing-skills. Basically, the monk-players in GW1 were what destroyed the traditional mechanics....
That's a really interesting look into the past!
I'm pretty sure it was also the general MMO landscape at the time though.
I remember playing WoW and a lot of people (me included) were complaining about things like the trinity, gear grinds, quest backtracking, etc.
So when GW2 showed up with all these sweeping changes I just took it as a welcome effort to alleviate a lot of these issues.
I'd love to have monk and bard in gw2. My fav classes in just about every game that has them.
I was there for the "Monk Strike" and I remember it as some guys memeing around for an afternoon. It was funny. No one actually cared.
aside from the fact that this is a gross exaggeration of what actually happened, arenanet and arenanet only is responsible for it. they allowed it to happen. don't give them excuses for screwing up the tank/heal system because this is by far the worst thing in GW2 and the main reason it isn't #1MMO. bring back holy trinity and the playerbase will grow 100% in a month...
@@Gorrebell This. OP is a bundle of sticks, for one Thunderhead keep wasn't even the main PvE zone it was Underworld, and that was based on the PvP performance of the region in Hall of Heroes. Second....the game was called GUILD wars, there were TENS OF THOUSANDS of guilds that ANY player could join and do anything together (Thunderhead keep pre-nerf wasn't nearly as hard as Underworld anyway, the monk strike did nothing and was NOT the reason why the devs wanted to break away from holy trinity, the devs just thought it was lame and wanted to try something new. People need to stop spouting nonsense they know nothing about.
To be fair, buying gold can get you two complete sets of legendary weapons. Speaking as someone getting towards the end of crafting all the legendary trinkets my in-game finances looked much better before I started the journey and extra inventory and character slots have come in very clutch. All that said, I'm also speaking as someone who got into GW2 in late 2012/early 2013 and still plays, and all of my uninstalls have been story related rather than salt about the gem store. I think when it comes to cash shops in games the only two options are 50% of the community find reasons to get salty over them or 90% of the community find reasons to get salty over them. The fact that people argue about the shop in GW2 says a ton compared to so many games where everyone just agrees that their shop is totally P2W or a disguised subscription.
I used to do Triple Trouble daily for a while and our greatest fear were mass disconnects. An hour of set-up, the better part of an hour to get to the actual bosses, and suddenly half the squad disappears. Happened entirely too often. Fortunately the mass part of that seems to be a lot better these days.
lol! I love that the first answer on reddit he gets is not only from someone I know, but also roasting him big time :'D
A subscription model comes with a built-in sunk cost fallacy, a cash shop comes with the risk of addictive behaviour leading to overspending. You have to choose one or the other because buy-to-play doesn't provide the big bucks, and you need the big bucks to feed the monster that is NCSoft or it'll come and eat half of your staff again.
Play single player games 🎮
@@dragongoddragneel7106 They often have cash shops these days too.
Also sub fee mmos now have cash shops and premium currencies...
That is why gw2’s expansions will always feel subpar to FFXIV.
I doubt its budget is even half of what FF14 has
@@galath9242 I think all the older expansions were huge and impressive. SOTO is the first one that feels small and disappointing. The Living Worlds feel more meaty than this whole expansion.
i feel like the cash shop take comes from like wow-style mentality where your power and prestige comes from excessive grind/play time - which is probably why the idea of a cash shop that doesnt actually increase your power but does help reduce time is still considered a big bad. ive seen ppl argue that reducing time spent (especially recently with the hero point scrolls boy did ppl throw a fit even tho there are literally lvl 80 boosts in the game that jumps u straight to max lvl and various exp boosters) is somehow pay to win.
that doesnt really make sense to me because at end of the day there is only one max lvl n one type of best gear and the numbers dont change. spend 100 hrs or 10 hrs, spend 100 dollars or 0 dollars, the end power lvl is still the same - except the person who played 100hrs prob gonna do more dmg and play better than someone who spent 10 hrs and 100 bucks anyway.
also gw2 lvling is so fast compared to so many other mmos that are grindsville unless u buy boosters.
and as a busy adult myself, i honestly dont mind/care if some ppl are too busy to be able to play longer and so want to go with gemstore to save time. for me playing longer isnt grinding, im just playing n enjoying the game. but im not gonna demand that everyone else must spend same amount of time as me in order to get to end game. thats ridiculous.
for the record i played for 2 years without spending more than whats needed to buy the expacs - bought all my bank tabs n bagslot expansions and the 3 salvage kits by buying gems with gold (i used to park my alts at the elderwoid farm, now im parked at flax farm XD). nowadays i buy gems with real money purely cuz i think anet deserves it.
also, i just cant stand subscriptions - works out to be like 150-180/year and its like theyre holding my acct as hostage. i bought the game, and now i must pay hostage fee to play it or get access to it. >.> many ppl are ok with it sure, but its not really for me. 😂
True, also due to the horizontal progression you feel like you get to keep the expansions you bought. In wow the older expansion always becomes part of the base game when a new one comes out and the older also becomes outdated, thus you have to pay Again just to continue playing the game properly (do content with other people with proper difficulty instead of oneshotting grey mobs). That feels like such a rip-off and another reason players don't tolerate wow's store well.
Another tought is that while all your points are valid I think gw2 should have done a better job teaching players of other MMOs about how, why and in what ways this game is different. Hearts were a decent start but nowhere near enough. I quit the game multiple times before because I just didn't "get it" (until I did and fell in love).
Excessive grind/playtime??? You can get ascended gear easily by doing guild missions - hardly a grind or excessive play. Lots of stuff you can get from playing through the story and completing achievements. The skyscale IS SO EASY TO GET NOW!!!! I did it the hard way and now everyone has one !! GW2 is NOT hard to get well geared - there are some things that are hard to acquire, for sure.
I was dying to play WoW at first but I ended up on GW2 - I couldn't get over the super nintendo graphics.
I've mentioned this before, which is what's addressed here around the 12:55 mark. The game early on is too easy and can be misleading for some. When you start to get into the last few zones of Tyria, Straights, Malchor's and Cursed Shore, the difficulty increases quite a bit, and that's not including HoT and the other expansions. Hard to argue with Anet's approach though, it obviously worked.
I've watched this guy's videos before, always entertaining.
Those last 3 zones are a cakewalk compared to what they were prior to HoT. HoT difficulty was meant to be a challenge after completed Orr.
@@codenameu.arctos3747 I’m aware, thank you for your contribution.
"I need to farm me some gear... OH LOOK SOME COSMETIC I WANT"
Fun watch 😂 The hoodie is the elite knight set from dark souls!
with gems to gold, you can buy gen1 and gen3 legendary weapons. so you can in fact buy the best weapons in the game through the cash shop
looking at their price on TP, i wonder if someone would really convert gems to gold to buy them e.e
No exclusive competitive advantage though. It muddles the definition of pay to win shop when you include stuff accessible by playing the game normally.
Especially when the leggy stats are the same as ascended which aren't difficult to get (craft, wizards vault, and frequent drops from world bosses)
Had missed out on this video of Roze, but goddamn, that was impressive and this truly deserved a react response! Hilarious and to (and sometimes besides) the point! :D
The GW2 music gets me everytime.. It takes me to a happy place
Open up those dwarven doors!
Also I made the first comment. Wooohooo
Gw2 is a great game man, best combat of any of the popular RPG imo, none of the stand and push a button wait for it to channel bs, and works way smoother than whatever games use the comboing skill system (FF still feels slow compared to GW2) idk man I played for a while took a long time away after skyscale, came back a few weeks ago and I’m stuck to the screen. Only RPG that I’ve done that for was OSRS. Fantastic game, with well deserved criticism. The OGs know what’s wrong and multiple ways to fix it but for what the game is, it’s great.
when a group of full legendary gear in full decorative infusions on users come into view you might as well reach for a welder's mach- it looks like a walking ongoing fire in fireworks factory
This video by Roze is my favorite GW2 impressions video of all time. The guy is hilarious!
16:20 It isn't just a hoodie. I'm pretty sure this is Oscar's of Astora armor print (Dark Souls 1)!
Roze u made it! U are famous!I love that guy his gw2 video made me laugh so much. I found him when he was only few hundred subs
This was hilarious. I gotta head to his channel and give his video a like because this was just 30 minutes of me smiling away. It's always nice to see new people try our game and enjoy it.
His take on the cash-shop is off. First, MMOs are expensive to run and they have to be paid for in some way. GW2 probably has the cheapest expansions on the market. The shop is not selling any power and you can change gold into diamonds. You can buy out the cash-shop without investing a single reallife-dime. I am playing for a bit over a year now and have all the character slots, bag slots and other convenience items I need without swiping one time. There is no "dark side" about the shop. If a game has to be financed via ingame shop, GW2 has the single best implementation I have seen so far.
genuine ask, have you played other games besides gw2 to a similar extent over the years?
Can you please stop patting yourself on the back while saying completely nonsense? Ppl would literally buy gold with gems with their credit card and buy every possible item that the gold can buy which speed up the process 100x for some players while for others will take years (assuming they play that long).
GW2 CAN be this game "pay for super convenience" You say there's "no dark side", you do realize actually some ppl are in big debts becuase of ectogambling? Last time I heard some dude (before the nerf of ectogamba), 20k $ negative. In fact Anet got 4 or 5 lawsuits becuase of this hence the nerf, but continue to be this delusional. Shills are shills.
@@graqon_4400 You're asking about games in general, or MMOs? I've played a ton of games, some mobas, Rocket League, PoE and LE and countless smaller Steam games. MMO-wise I played WoW, Lost Ark, DDO, Neverwinter. Basically all of these hardlock something behind real money, where GW2 doesn't (expansions aside).
@nexeus7302 Sounds like those people need to learn restraint if they can literally get the same things with no credit card, but a bit of time. It's on them to buy when they WANT it. Cosmetics, not an advancement to being the atrongest in the game. Ecto gamble lad sounds like a pathetic chump, better they learn the hard way. No sympathy is needed there
You are wrong gg I win bye
This is one of the videos I regularly go back and watch if I have a bad time, he's just so damn funny
28:20 well that's half true you can buy gen 1 leggy weps, and with gold you can speed up the process of getting leggy runes / sigils / gear or you can fairly quickly buy your crafting stats and buy / craft your ascended gears which are equally good. Just still takes more time, but the gold will save a lot of time aswell
Feels very refreshing to see this through veteran eyes, that take all these little things for granted he picked up. Makes me appreciate GW2 a lot more, for what it is.
Big same. The video had me recalling memories of starting at launch and what made me fall in love with the game in the first place and how those experiences, though different now, still maintain the same spirit as back then👌
I don't remember the last time I laughed so much at one of these reaction videos. This was awesome!
regarding the pay to 2in status - I've been playing gw2 endgame since last halloween, and I'm still not stocked up on necessities in QoL merch - bag slots, bank tabs, material storage, shared inventory slots, character slots and I'm still not stocked on those. 1000h of grind that can be skipped. With skippig all that, getting the ascended armory is not that complicated
You can buy gems and trade them for gold to buy legendary weapons (gen1 and gen3). However, legendary weapons don't have higher stats than ascended gear which is pretty easy to get with playing the game or via crafting. But anything legendary outside of gen1 and gen3 weapons (gen2 weapons, armor sets, trinkets, runes, relics, sigils) is account bound. I personally disagree about the story though. From vanilla, and especially vanilla, I never really cared about the story nor the story characters and that hasn't changed to this day...but that's personal
with soto you can buy all materials for leggy armor from the trading post besides the map currencies, that includes the kryptis essences with are arguably the one thing that makes getting this armor set a challenge. (unstable motivations and lootboxes both are available on trading post, and said lootboxes only drop essences, afaik outright buying the essences is around additional 2k gold). any other aspect of the game has similar thing going on if ya look at it, anet always adds a “faster” way to acquire things in game if you are ready to throw some gold/gems around, while making the “base” version of the experience not quite frustrating but juust annoying enough at times for you to look at other options than just flat out playing the game.
Ye this line confused me because you absolutely CAN buy Legendaries with cash...
Yes, but you can't buy legendary/ascended armor/trinkets with gold. Given that you can only have at most two legendary weapons equipped at one time it doesn't account for much of your stats.
@@graqon_4400 I wasn't aware of that, but maybe I'll actually craft some of those in this case. I assumed the essences were a "grindwall" that I wasn't willing to climb. Buying a ladder sounds much better.
same with the story. I only *somewhat* enjoyed the vanilla story at the very very end. It was overall just very boring though. Enjoyed almost every living world and xpack, I just finished up EoD and that was.. meh. Not very good either. And Secrets of the Obscure as well I'm not sure why I'm just finding like a 5/10, but I like the aesthetic to the xpack.
I still praise mounts from GW2, and has of yet, found an MMO, or a game with mounts as smooth as there is in GW2
I've had the access denied glitch and server connection lost happen in the middle of a story instance, and had to repeat the whole thing. It sucks especially if the fight up until the "access denied" wwas tough and not something I wanted to repeat ever again.
For me it is Balthazar and the horrible jumping puzzle in one of the Aetherpirate story instances. I don't remember what those mist pirates are called. If the story instance wasn't really that hard, it's just annoying. But for tough story intsnaces, it's really frustrating (I rage quit after it happen 4 times on Balthazar (the one you're not supposed to canonically die).
Just because you can't get the spirit shards required with the gold to make the best gear, doesn't mean it's not p2w.
That's quite literally the only thing stopping a brand new player from just buying a full set of ascended gear after boosting to 80. Legendaries are cosmetic, small convenience at most but not more power and not something you need if you whale. However, that's only for the players who already have ascended. If you do not have ascended, being able to buy a legendary weapon is indeed VERY pay2win.
Right away, you can buy 2-4 legendary weapons, however many you need for just gold off the TP.
Then you can farm the spirit shards with boosters, and get a full set of ascended armor within a day or two without having to farm any mats because you can just buy all of them with gems converted to gold. Skipping a month of grinding with a CC swipe.
Spirit Shards, Dragonite Ore, Empyreal Fragment & Bloodstone Dust.
Those are the 4 ingredients that you can not buy with gold.
That is not a big grind, that's like 1% of the grind.
The reason why people are "ok" with it, isn't that it's not p2w, it's that it really doesn't matter. And just because it doesn't matter doesn't mean it's not p2w. It's easy enough for everyone else to get. But let's not try to put sparkles on a polished turd, it's still massively p2w.
you just described how its not p2w while concluding its p2w. interesting :p It does indeed not matter if you buy all the gear, as that is not gonna carry you through any content, achievements etc. You have to do it yourself and spent the time doing it. You can't pay yourself out of it. Which is why its not p2w :p
Always wondered what was the least popular race-profession, awesome vid
Idk if he was actually having a repeating crashing issue or not, but this can happen if you are using an audio interface that Guild Wars 2 doesn’t like-you will crash at every pre-rendered cutscene. It took me YEARS to figure this out. Now any time I want to do fractals or storyline, I have to unplug my Behringer interface and plug my headphones into the built-in computer jack. Idk what interface is safe if I ever wanted to stream said content….
It's a decent script. I've never got that issue w/dungeons before either.
The ONLY exception to what you said about buying the best gear is Leggie Weapons of Gen 1 and 3 being on the trading post means someone could swipe a card for them, but it doesn't give them any real advantage, it's still just barely above exotic and only looks prettier.
Gear constitutes so much more than weapons though, it's hardly fair to say you can buy the "best gear" on the trading post. That was really only a reasonable gripe before they introduced legendary trinkets or armor, but many detractors of GW2 stopped playing well before that
Perfection. 2nd video reaction?
You CAN get the best gear in the game by throwing money at it. Legendary weapons can be bought from the trading post and for the rest you can do with ascended items that have the same maximum stats and these can be crafted with materials you buy with the route Credit Card > Gems > Gold > crafting mats.
I remember falling out of my Chair laughing when I saw the video. honestly absolutely hilarious
I have a stack of trading post express things in my bank from back when i got them for free at the start of the game (11 years ago), I have never used them.....but I have not deleted them, I'm an MMO player, they might be useful someday....
Signets have active effects too... And sometimes you even want to use them. 😏
I only got to catch bits and pieces of this live. So worth the replay! LOL!
Congrats Mukluk! You made me came back to the game after 7 years XD
His Leveling Video is also great.
31:40 I think it's a free to play account that tries to join with a paid account... I think I had this error when I tried to join a free account with my paid accounts both ways around, so no matter who started the dungeon instance.
Always nice to see and hear fellow South African's enjoy the best MMO of all time
Barely 6 min into the video and I'm loving the roasting....so far. LOL
I'm a noob as heck I started playing. Bought an expansion and boosted my Character, Restarted with an Elemantalist I'm level 42 the normal way and I'm having a pretty good time can't wait to get to the expansion content and actually understand the game better
the showering comment.... i audibly screamed HAHAHA, poor teapot
This made me laugh so hard. This content is great!
its so amazing to me cuz i had no idea this guy was "someone" when i watched him on twitch on his "first time playing gw2" and gave him some tips and stuff... now i see this and i feel like i made a difference XD.
I stopped playing GW2 because of that error message. I "disconnected" from story scenarios time and time again, without even actually losing internet connection. I had a console command pinging the server and never once lost connection, but the game said i did, kicked me out of the story multiple times, and had to start again. Every story seemed to have a 50% chance to either let you finish it or kick you out. It's been years like that and they never fixed it. So naturally, if i can't complete the story, why am i playing?
Nice video by Oscat of Astora 🍻
31:33 soo I expect what it was.. is because of the 11 year old engine that some graphics cards are incompatible with playing in full screen (or maybe it was borderless full screen? I forget which) flawlessly when 'story' elements try to play during the base game dungeon and personal story cutscenes. To fix it, all you have to do is swap the game out of the full screen (or borderless full screen) into the other mode and poof that crash never happens again.
I haven't made it to the end yet, but I hope he dips a little on how crafting a legendary takes 119287327 trillion steps, but once you have it you never lose that power. One of the reasons why I quit WOW back in the day is that expansion after expansion, all your omega overpowered gear becomes worse than trash drops from the first monster you find. Big fan of starting a new season with gear available.
question is...did he actually made the legendary Quip... i assume the pistol is the quip?
I still think the initial free mount should be a simple one, slightly slower and without any additional abilites, at least for new players.
That would not invalidate getting the mount later in PoF and have people looking forward to it more.
And a small quest for it would also have been nicer than just a popup out of nowhere...
Please tell us where to get the hoodie!
That video got uploaded around the time I first started playing GW2 and its the second GW2 related video I ever watched. 😂
I wouldn't be surprised if that video single handedly got a chunk of people trying out GW2. Roze did god's work with that one.
one exception: every gen 1 legendary weapon, the gen 3 legendary weapons. ya, that's a pretty big 1 exception. not that i really have problems with that.
Very true about the lack of danger :P
you CAN get the best gear by throwing money, because with money you can level crafters and then craft ascended gear...
On the topic of p2w: If GW2 is all about progressing your account and the shop includes items to progress your account, isn't the shop then for people who want to progress their account p2w? The GW2 p2w is just a different p2w compared to other mmo's, where gear is seen as p2w as that's the progression in those games. Wondering what others think about this thought?
I want that hoodie too....
Hi, long time GW2 playere here. About the funneling money into the game, in general I agree with you and I think the cash shop in GW2 is not even close to the most aggressively p2w shops in other games, but converting gems into gold makes crafting some Legendaries trouble-free. So it is easier to craft BiS gear with money, but at the end of the day, the BiS gear in GW2 adds only convenience, not character's power. My 2 cents. Happy Super Aventure Box everybody. Have a good day!👋
Yea man Roze is a quality youtuber 👌 😆
I love this video so much
I've already watched this before, but I'm still laughing uncontrollably. 😂😂😂
Never heard of this guy but love his humor. To backup what mukluk is saying about the og devs, they were mmo gamers and they had 1 rule, 'we don't want to be like wow.' They made intentional decisions to stray from what other MMO's at the time were doing. A lot of us play testers back then were used to other games and as a wow hater I loved it. Others didn't. That's why it never really took off back then and to be honest GW2 vanilla sucks in comparison to what they added after HoT and PoF. Also WvW is STILL the #1 pvevp game mode in the world. No other MMO has been able to match it
Getting sidetracked during my first weeks in GW2, was a magical experience that I sorely miss as a veteran 🥲
I remember my bf and me dancing on a bridge in calendon to attract members for our just founded guild for hours. Ahhh such good times.
I honestly still get that feeling all the time on new maps when they just release
As an ascolonian, I think he got that pretty spot on
... I run all signets on my Guardian DH in open world. lol
I like it, even though it sucks. I never die though! Can't solo shit however past elites.
I love GW2, the only honest issue I have with the game is committing to a main prof.
Hi, my name is Anya and I am an altoholic.
I came to GW2 from WoW, and do find myself game hoping from time to time between GW2, WoW and FF14, but when I first started GW2, I had to adjust to the simplicity of the buttons and character control. I am STILL, to this day, adjusting to not have to stop moving to cast anything; not the fault of the game, admittedly.
Love this guy's video 😂
Holy shit, his opinions about GW2 aside, that dude is hilarious. Kinda giving me Yahtzee Croshaw/Zero Punctuation vibes, instant sub from me too.
I love Josh Stryfe Hays, he is a real Talent, and gave gw1 Glowing reviews on first try even after a decade of studio abandonment.
great criticisms from an excellent creator
In FF XIV you can (mostly) disable the effects of other players though. Can you in GW2 (honest question, don't know)
Yes
My friend used to play raid alliances with all effects on.
Boss was really invisible when all 24 plebes were spamming buttons lol.
The oil baron can buy leggy weapons though.
Wait, new players get the mount at lvl 10?? To me the best change from WoW is the ability for anyone to harvest resources (no profession) and that everyone can farm the same node. Oh and I was pretty salty when I found out the Winterspring Frostsaber skin didn't require the epic grind it used to when I played.
I've never seen a video make use of red flags so proudly. If the video was a house, the flags were practically the curtains and the carpet.
Technically you can buy legendary weapons on trading post or you can buy your way through crafting ascended / legendary gear because those things can get ridiculously expensive. Also you can buy the best flying mount which is gryphon because that is quite expensive too. I agree with original video that they create a problem to sell you a solution regarding bank tabs because they flood your inventory with useless shit which you cannot use and dont know as a new player if to ditch it like bloodstone dust. Also another con which i would add to GW2 is there is no identity or overall theme its just mess. You can see vastly different outfits on people there is hello kitty next to ghost rider next to john wick next to schoolgirl and it ruins the immersion. I dont mind fashion sense of the game but when its just slapped together like those cheap korean mmos (Aion, Tera) where outfits doesnt match the overall aesthetic of world then its a big issue. However I see why people like it and I think its one of the best MMOs but not for me I think it fights with ESO for a second place both are really close in my book how good and bad they are at the same time.
20:02 the only p2w in this game is buy expations to play with new broken classes
\o/
Being a new dad, with a full time job, when you hit the subscribe button, I was wondering.... Between all the streaming, and youtube, and guide creation and everything you do, how much time do you even have to watch other people's videos, or shows & movies for that matter?
Muk has said on streams he always watches stuff at 2x speed, so that helps.
Can't you swipe CC and buy leggo weapz on TP?
oh shit now what? you don't get any power boost over ascended?
10 years ago greatsword of night and day still best mmo weapon I’ve seen
Ahh yes, Ascalonian crypts. Followed by Caudecus' villa
I played GW1 for a long time and was excited for GW2. The game itself was pretty well done but I just can't get behind what they did to Ascalon.
In GW1 I couldn't afford all of the expansions so once I finished off what new expansions I could I ended up going back to Ascalon. I literally killed millions of Char defending Ascalon just by myself before GW2 showed up. Going back to Ascalon in GW2 I saw ghosts everywhere that I didn't want to fight and went to Ebonhawke and had to fight people I didn't want to fight.
I played through the LW season 1 to give it a chance but decided to nope out. All these yrs later I'm still mad about this so I'll likely never play GW2 again. I'm not sure why CZcams brought me here tbh. lol
I guess the AC error was just that he wasn’t level 30
But you can use gold to buy the reagents, leveling and craft your ascended or exotic gear! Its a sad true but the game is pay to win. The difference from other P2W games is that you just have a cap much more lower that stuff like Lost Ark or Black Desert Online.
i have guildwars2 for about 9 years now but i rarely played it back in the day, i got to lvl 80 and then stoped playing it, now after 8 years i came back and after 2weeks of playing the game i probably spent more than 200 bucks already for convenience and style gear from the store... xD i thought about buying a legendary with buying the 8k gems but turned out, the gem to gold change rate is ass and i accidentaly took the gold to gem rate as reference, rip money 😂
More muk reacting to videos please
10:15 Muk, the reason for the mustache could be the IRL version of what he called the statue ("Stalin") having a mustache. But I digress, I don't speak charr, what do I know.
I got back to GW2 thanks to Roze. Found the video thanks to Swolebenji :v.
You can pay for legendary weapons. Cash to gems to gold to buy them on the trading post. So you can pay for top weapons.
What did you win tho?
I can get the same stats in an hour xD
If you mean fashion
Fashion is pay2win
Legendaries are not top weapons, they literally have identical stats as Ascended, you are paying for looks and convinience of using them across your account, nothing more
lmao he's pretending this is a normal mmo... my guy, legendaries are not top
you can pay for about a 5% stat increase on a single one out of like 13 of your slots. A 5% that either only comes into play in PvE or in WvW. WvW is PvP, but it really doesn't matter since most people engage in the like 30v30v30 fights where increases in individual stats that small stop being important.
I really like gw2, it's one of my favourite games but I hate the item system like crazy. I mean, I don't see the point of farming a legendary gear when it's not better than the ascended one and for that reason I don't see why would I even do a raid and a strike (and those are my most favorite contents in mmorpgs)
You can still buy everything from the store with gold.... and gold is really easy to make endgame
The pay to win is incorrect tho. I only use gem to buy expansions and try some utilities but all the gold I made so far come from events, crafting and then sold em to Trading post. Used them to upgrade my gears.
