The VeloSolex is an extraordinary and iconic moped that seems to have been forgotten. I hope that with this video I can reach many people who have ever come into contact with a Solex to bring back good times and memories.
First I completely dismantled the Velosolex and inspected the parts. Anything that was missing or could no longer be repaired, I ordered new or bought used and replaced it. For example, the main stand was missing here and I had to purchase a new one.
After cleaning all the parts, I had the frame sandblasted and powder coated. I overhauled the wheels and re-spoked them. I also blasted the screws with glass beads and galvanized them so that they don't rust. I also completely overhauled the engine, you can find the video here on my channel: • 1970s Front Wheel two-...

Schön bei uns nennt man es Velosolex. In den 70 gern und 80 gern haben wir diese Fahrräder mit Hilfsmotor noch auf unseren Straßen gehabt. Waren leicht zu reparieren. Gefällt mir.😊

@@restorwerke Ja, in meiner Lehrzeit als Fahrradmechaniker hab ich eines drei Jahre gefahren. Gab es dann leider aus Geldmangel her. Wünsche ihnen noch viel Spaß bei weiteren Projekten. Gruß aus Niederbayern.

Super Arbeit, mit Ausnahme vom Scheinwerfer. Sorry, der mußte sein :) Ne ganz doofe Frage, wäre es nicht einfacher gewesen die ganzen Bolzen, Muttern und Unterlegscheiben neu zu kaufen?
Ja den Scheinwerfer wollte ich entchromen hat nicht wirklich funktioniert:/
Ich suche mir immer den schwierigsten weg 😅 nein also ich mach’s eher gern selber wenn die Substanz es hergibt.

What about engine oil
its an two stroke engine. The oil is mixed with the fuel.
That's a no-go for me. I don't like it at all.
Why ?

- The bike feels front-heavy.
- The exhaust fumes blow right into your face.
- The design looks awkward, almost inappropriate.
- It feels janky overall.
- The seat isn’t comfortable for long rides.
- The handling is unresponsive, especially in tight turns.
- The suspension is too stiff, making the ride rough.
- The brakes lack stopping power and feel unreliable.
- The build quality seems questionable, with loose parts.
- The overall balance is off, making it hard to control at low speeds.
@@WilliamEllison Says someone with no knowledge whatsoever of vintage mopeds. i had a similar one back in the seventies and it didn't suffer from any of the traits that you describe.
