How Luka isn’t de facto number 2 i don’t understand. Just look at that comparison with SGA, yes SGA’s D is better but Luka is propelling a bottom 6 team to a positive record, how you are more valuable to a team than that I don’t understand
some of jokić's counting stats got hurt by the fact he got ejected twice early for nonsense this season so his numbers don't look as good as they could. he's still the mvp.
Separating the fact I think Jokic clearly should have been mvp last season, I still think it's jokic mvp this year but plenty of room for Giannis to make up the gap i think is there. Really good video mate, good job.
@@ModernTwoThree Nah man. I’m still rocking with the Freak! Great video though. If someone new doesn't win it and it's close it should go to Giannis. SGA MVP by default this year cause going from almost outside the playin last year to this year an potential 1st seed is quite the leap and he's clearly their leader, every MVP candidate has amazing statiscal years and SGA is no stranger to this being ranked 1st in drives per game and 1st in steals makes him an elite 2 way player that is also near hall of fame level at foul baiting on offence.

Also If any of the 3 mentioned in luka, jokic, sga are not playing for the season their teams are lottery bound no doubt. Still my whole argument for SGA simply resolves around age + accolades for their 2nd arguably 3rd ''best'' or highest usage rate players are nowhere near luka or jokic co-cast, like murray an 5+ year champion vet so is kyrie and its not close in that regard given the comparison are 22 year old jdub and 20 year old chet 💀while having favorable w/l ration this year against den + mavs to boot as well.
The Mavericks did NOT let Jalen Brunson walk for nothing because "they didn't want to pay him $14m" They handled his negotiations horribly and they should have offered him the bag sooner but they did eventually offer it, they just waited too long and let NY get their hooks in him. The Knicks hired his father and agent to lure him there, they gave him a bag, and gave him the option to lead his own team which he always wanted. Just because JB walked for nothing doesn't mean The Mavs "LET him walk because they didn't want to pay him". They fumbled him because they were dumb, disrespectful and didn't think they could lose him and didnt know how far NY would go to get him. Saying they let him walk implies they didn't care if he stayed or went. Which is just factually wrong. They wanted him to stay, but screwed up big time

I feel like bucks having a -12.4 net rating when giannis rests should say a lot. 31/11/6.5 a steal and a block on 62% should say a lot. The team is 3rd seed not 10th. Some people act like they’ve won nothing. Post griffin was a slump. Not a lot of effort from the team. But he’s done his part and then some. He at least deserves to be recognized for his effort and outstanding season and carrying his disjointed chaotic team to 2nd/3rd seed throughout the season…
This video convinced me to put a bet on Luka to win. 10-1 is crazy for a guy doing this much. With kyrie back, the mavs should win enough to get a 3-4 seed and then Luka will be undeniable
I think at least Giannis and Shai deserve it over Jokic at this point. If Luka was the 3+ seed he would be the undisputed frontrunner. Rn I think it's Giannis first.
Is it just me finding it a bit refreshing to see that none of the top 4 (top 5, if Embiid didn't get that injury) favorite candidates for MVP ain't from USA?! Big win for the [increasingly globalization] of the NBA/ Basketball... 🌍🌎🌏
I’m pretty sure Jokic is leading the League this season so far in Points, Rebounds and Assists for his Triple Double average. I don’t even think that’s ever been done before by anyone. I’m a Jazz fan and the Nuggets are my least favorite team, because I know we will never be that good. Anyone paying attention is watching an all-time talent. He’s also been doing it all season, before Embiid was hurt. He was playing better than Embiid. He’s going to win another Championship this year, and deserved MVP last year 😢
I'm actually happy that Brunson is that high because the award isn't for the best player even tho Brunson is one of the best but not that high but the award is actually about the most valuable and brunson is the best by far on his team and is on of the best teams of the NBA and for the actual winner I really think that Shai should win mvp becauce he really is the most valuable player of the league cause he's arguably the best guard deffender, has really good offensive stats is second in ppg is very efficient and his best players are a rookie and a second year player he's on of the best teams in the nba and is second best player is a rookie?? like the is the definition of most valuable player. Shai is the mvp of the league
Dawg Jalen Brunson is having an insane season and if it were 2013 I’d see him being the mvp talks but man I just don’t understand 27/6/4 on a 4 seed isn’t mvp level anymore and idk why people don’t see that
As a Nuggets fan, Id say Jokic will only win it if they get that #1 seed. Otherwise if OKC gets #1 seed SGA gonna take it. Same goes with Leonard and the clips. the race for the #1 seed is so close just as the MVP race with those guys. Whoever can hold out for that #1 seed has huge mvp points imo.

How Luka isn’t de facto number 2 i don’t understand. Just look at that comparison with SGA, yes SGA’s D is better but Luka is propelling a bottom 6 team to a positive record, how you are more valuable to a team than that I don’t understand

Keep up your grind bro, you are my favorite basketball youtuber right now and you make great content. Respect.
Great vid bro
Bro that opening was fire you got my sub
Not relevant right now but brandon miller is getting better, dudes got a high ceiling and gaining ground.
some of jokić's counting stats got hurt by the fact he got ejected twice early for nonsense this season so his numbers don't look as good as they could. he's still the mvp.
Dude said 2 games 😭😭 jokic fans will say anything to excuse him
@@5115neoyeah bro I’m a massive nuggets/jokic fan but you’re reaching HEAVILY.
Love the intro
Nice breakdown
perfect timing. Fresh meal right in front of me looking for something to watch !!
Got to take my glasses for this dude😂😂
That was a cool intro
Separating the fact I think Jokic clearly should have been mvp last season, I still think it's jokic mvp this year but plenty of room for Giannis to make up the gap i think is there. Really good video mate, good job.
Those mvp chants at the beginning were genuinely terrifying
Oh I’m so ready for this video. Giannis is my pick right now. I’ll add an edit to this comment if the video changes my mind in any way.
Any changes?
@@ModernTwoThree Nah man. I’m still rocking with the Freak!
Great video though. As you mention, it’s only really the final 4 that are in with a shout; but it’s great to have a video breaking down some of the other top talent in the league. I had no idea Kawhi was putting up shooting splits like that! Absurd numbers. As a UK fan, it’s often difficult to watch the Clippers when their games all start at 3am. I’ll make an effort to catch a couple more to watch the Klaw do his thing.
@@Tomtainiuswhere do you watch it, I’m in the UK as well as
If someone new doesn't win it and it's close it should go to Giannis. It doesn't show because players are missing wide open shots but he has been passing a lot better this year while dealing with a lot of extra crap going on while with Dame or not still carrying them through the regular season. He shows up in big games able to hit shots he doesn't always and such as well. Right now I am not sure with Joel down who is doing more to carry there team basically while having high stats and great record , maybe Luka but lack of defense a bit hurts.
🔥 intro
Jokic is my pick
3:36 What sucks about about those stats is that they dont mean much isolation! We need to factor things like roaster, opponent, scheduel etc. Remember Steph most dominant season ever after kd left?! Well, any superstar would put numbers like that if they're volume exploded.
Good show!
SGA MVP by default this year cause going from almost outside the playin last year to this year an potential 1st seed is quite the leap and he's clearly their leader, every MVP candidate has amazing statiscal years and SGA is no stranger to this being ranked 1st in drives per game and 1st in steals makes him an elite 2 way player that is also near hall of fame level at foul baiting on offence.
his good but we both know jokic and luka provide more, matter of fact rn the mvp race changed, mavs with those trades make it very interesting and if kyrie wasnt out for 40% of the mavs games the mavs would atleast be in the top 4 really like 3rd or so
@@sky3down367 both luka and jokic have crazy statlines and provide unreplacable value, to me jokic pass in memphis that cross court lob which the announcers couldnt call is easily top 10 all time personally same for that hook shot to win the game vs the nets by luka also an all time buzzer beater but lets be real luka has kyrie an bonified all star, champion etc and jokic has murray. Who does SGA have as 2nd best man? jdub is 22 and chet an rookie like its not even close the help both luka and jokic have available therefore his impact on an nightly basis matters barely any more than both of them.
@@kowaikokoro Bruh okc has an incredibly deep roster with a lot of good players, they just young. Luka might have Kyrie (who was injured for like half the season) but other then that most of the players on the mavs were straight trash. Without Luka the mavs would have been terrible. Chet maybe a rookie but he was litteraly a better player then half the mavs roster until the mavs trade 💀
@@tartar1016 oh im not trying to discredit luka cause the mavs have the 3rd easiest shedule remaining they had key players injured during the tough stretch can easily regain MVP ground in 10 games who knows, same for jokic who had murray sidelined for 10+ games this season.
Minnesota played vs okc in the play in game. They’ve been in 1st pretty much all season, Ant should be in the mvp conversation
good video

They didn’t let Brunson just walk, the Knicks tampered. We could’ve offered him any amount of money and he wouldn’t have stayed.
Nice intro
The Mavericks did NOT let Jalen Brunson walk for nothing because "they didn't want to pay him $14m"
They handled his negotiations horribly and they should have offered him the bag sooner but they did eventually offer it, they just waited too long and let NY get their hooks in him. They wanted him to stay, but screwed up big time
Check out the definition for the word "literally" babe
Honestly Jokic deserved it this year regardless. He got straight robbed last year
I feel like thats why he's leading rn, even though Shai, Giannis, and Luka are having better seasons
Every jokic Stan looks exactly like you. Greasy, sweaty, unathletic white boy
it’s clearly LUKA. First off JOKIC does the job for his team but he rarely does anything that is remembered other than 1 -2 great passes a game maybe? Luka facilitates and tosses 3-4 gems a game does spectacular things daily
@@MichaelJwolf1984 bro, you’re part of the problem. Luka is literally my favorite player right now, but it’s not about flashiness, it’s about value to team success. Jokic singlehanded is the best player in the world. His PER trumps Luka. I want Luka to win a ring and an MVP more than anything but facts are facts. Jokic has basketball by the balls. He should’ve won it last year because he was by far the best player then aswell. Since he was absolutely robbed, the owe it to him this year without a doubt.

Does nba measure WAR (wins above replacement) or what is there version? I bet jokic would have the highest
I love Brunson... He's my underdog Rose grown up through concrete... Showing everybody and the Mavericks what he really is like. Luca was definitely limiting him and not on purpose just is what it is but now homeboy can shine. This happens all the time and he ends up the best player. You know if Manu ginobili went to the clippers back in the day, he would have been the best player on the team. He d be the starter... I know it's different but not really
It’s crazy how they were talking about trading Donovan Mitchell
It's gotta be Luka after embiid went down
Was hoping for Domantas Sabonis to be on here, but I know the Kings aren’t doing too great right now
Embid doesn’t deserve an mvp
Not showing Shai in the intro is criminal.
Jokic makes his team better.
after embiid it was sga, there is a big gap between those two and every other player this season
Aside from Injuries Embiid kept on ducking/sitting out vs top teams which keeps on getting ignored by most.
The most valuable player means a player that helps the team in many ways to win and with out them the team wont be be as good now its about points and states
MVP used to be best player on the best team
run away mvp lol? The only thing embiid ran away is from games against top teams and stat stuff with weak teams. That aint a mvp.
You people are so miserable man
Seriously lmao. When he said that I almost immediately clicked off the video. We talking about the same Embiid?
You people are so miserable it’s actually sad
very strange you didnt show literally the top 2 candidates for that beginning intro
Always wondered why there wasn’t a MVP for both conferences. Just a cool little thought.
Tbh it wouldn’t surprise me if Jokic wins this season due to the fact that he didn’t win last year for what was an incredibly stupid reason.
Luka Doncic should be the inevitable MVP. Just look at the facts. He’s going to be great.
Giannis is the mvp, his defense is not many people''s consideration
This video convinced me to put a bet on Luka to win. 10-1 is crazy for a guy doing this much. With kyrie back, the mavs should win enough to get a 3-4 seed and then Luka will be undeniable
I think at least Giannis and Shai deserve it over Jokic at this point. If Luka was the 3+ seed he would be the undisputed frontrunner. Rn I think it's Giannis first.
I think it's Giannis
Honestly I’m good with anyone in the top 5 winning MVP
Putting SGA higher over Luka is just criminal. He will never be better than Luka.
It’s crazy to me how normalized Lukas 35 ppg is. And he has 9 apg. He’s responsible for more than half the teams points
Karma really said yall aint robbing jokic again lmfao

Thank you, I've always wanted to see what everyone's pores look like. 😂😂
I am amazed how the new generations of fans rely more and more on stats to evaluate a player.
2:15 Did you choose to show Booker making an uncalled interrupted dribble on purpose?
It’ll will probably come down to SGA or Luka. Due to voter fatigue for big men. The mvp for the last 5 seasons have been big men.
Lets address the elephant in the room here, the 50 point games nowadays is less valuable than 50 point games in 2000s
Should be someone in the west. Jok, SGA or Luka.
Or Ant
Me personally i think it is kawhi . He is leading the clipper to their best successes since maybe the prime lob city days , is having carrerr highs in efficiency, almost shooting 50 40 90

Luka doing the most with the least. He has Kyrie but he’s been injured almost half the season as well as other starters and players. Carrying the mavs to the playoffs.
in all honesty i’m not 100% on jokic being the front runner rn
SGA over Luka is absolutely disgraceful
The mavericks had 6+ injured players the whole first half of the season including Kai for half if luka wasn’t on that team they’d be a lottery team luka is the most VALUABLE player to his team every other superstar has someone to lean on
SGA!!!! Is the MVP
